    Abstract In 2020, COVID-19 became a global pandemic. The Chinese government's quarantine measures tend to cause anxiety, tension and depression among the quarantined people. This article constructs a differential game model of self-regulation, government guidance and social forces guidance. Then, the psychological benefits of the masses and the benefits of the whole society under the three modes are obtained, and the applicable conditions of various connection modes are compared. The research results show that: compared with social power channeling, the public under the government channeling mode can obtain more psychological benefits. However, with the increase of guidance, the difference between the psychological benefits of different ways of guidance first decreases and then tends to be stable. Under the guidance mode, the social benefits of the government decrease, and the more guidance, the smaller the social benefits. Therefore, both the government and social forces should make use of limited resources to conduct appropriate psychological counseling for the isolated population.

    Abstract Privacy literacy is recognized as a crucial skill for safeguarding personal privacy online. However, self-assessed privacy literacy often diverges from actual literacy, revealing the presence of cognitive biases. The protection motivation theory (PMT) is widely used to explain privacy protection behavior, positing that whether individuals take defensive measures depends on their cognitive evaluation of threats and coping capabilities. However, the role of cognitive biases in this process has been understudied in previous research. This study focuses on Chinese digital natives and examines the differential impacts of subjective and objective privacy literacy on privacy protection behavior, as well as the role of cognitive biases in privacy decision-making. The results show that there is no significant correlation between subjective and objective privacy literacy, and a bias exists. When privacy concern is used as a mediating variable, there are significant differences in the paths through which subjective and objective privacy literacy influence privacy protection behavior. Furthermore, privacy literacy overconfidence moderates the relationship between privacy concern and privacy protection behavior. The findings confirm the influence of cognitive biases in privacy behavior decision-making and extend the PMT. This study also calls for the government to enhance privacy literacy training for digital natives to improve their privacy protection capabilities.

    Abstract The functional Near-infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) has been more and more widely used to measure the activation state of prefrontal cortex when performing function-related tasks among children with various developmental disorders. Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have shown obvious executive function defects. We aimed to summarize the studies with fNIRS, to summarize the activation patterns of prefrontal cortex (PFC) of participants with ASD or ADHD in performing functional tasks. We selected 630 articles according to PRISMA guidelines, and the eligibility criteria were: 6-16 years old individuals diagnosed with ASD or ADHD by DSM-4 or 5, using fNIRS, having executive function (EF) task, typical development (TD) control, and between-group comparison of PFC activation. Eleven studies were finally included in the quantitative analysis, and compared to TD, ASD and ADHD showed the opposite PFC activation patterns during n-back tasks. We discussed the task-specific PFC activation in young participants with ASD and ADHD, and provided some new ideas on that issue.

    Abstract Bacteria with streamlined genomes, that harbor full functional genes for essential metabolic networks, are able to synthesize the desired products more effectively and thus have advantages as production platforms in industrial applications. To obtain streamlined chassis genomes, a large amount of effort has been made to reduce existing bacterial genomes. This work falls into two categories: rational and random reduction. The identification of essential gene sets and the emergence of various genome-deletion techniques have greatly promoted genome reduction in many bacteria over the past few decades. Some of the constructed genomes possessed desirable properties for industrial applications, such as: increased genome stability, transformation capacity, cell growth, and biomaterial productivity. The decreased growth and perturbations in physiological phenotype of some genome-reduced strains may limit their applications as optimized cell factories. This review presents an assessment of the advancements made to date in bacterial genome reduction to construct optimal chassis for synthetic biology, including: the identification of essential gene sets, the genome-deletion techniques, the properties and industrial applications of artificially streamlined genomes, the obstacles encountered in constructing reduced genomes, and the future perspectives.

    Abstract Background: With the development of assisted reproduction technology (ART), many indicators have been proposed to evaluate ovarian response, and then predict pregnancy outcomes. In general, the predictive values remain limited.
    Objective: To further explore the indicators to evaluate ovarian sensitivity to gonadotrophin (Gn) stimulation more accurately.
    Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 330 women who underwent an entire ART cycle. We aimed to assess whether a new index, termed as average Gn dosage per follicle, could be used as a marker for ovarian response and pregnancy outcomes. It was calculated as the ratio of total Gn dose during ovarian stimulation and the number of pre-ovulatory follicles (PFC) on the trigger day. Patients were divided into three subgroups according to the average Gn dosage per follicle: below the 33rd percentile (Group A), between 33rd and 67th percentiles (Group B), and above the 67th percentile (Group C). Then stimulation data, laboratory and clinical outcomes were compared among the groups.
    Results: The results showed patients in Group A had the best ovarian response, the number of retrieved oocytes was significantly higher than in Group B and C. A multivariate regression analysis showed that average Gn dosage per follicle was an independent predictor of cumulative live birth rates (CLBRs) [adjusted odds ratio (OR): 0.96, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.95-0.98, P < 0.01].
    Conclusions: The present study showed that average Gn dosage per follicle appears to be a highly reliable index of ovarian response to exogenous Gn and can be useful to estimate CLBR.

    Abstract Dynamic optimization of mean and variance in Markov decision processes (MDPs) is a long-standing challenge caused by the failure of dynamic programming. In this paper, we propose a new approach to find the globally optimal policy for combined metrics of steady-state mean and variance in an infinite-horizon undiscounted MDP. By introducing the concepts of pseudo mean and pseudo variance, we convert the original problem to a bilevel MDP problem, where the inner one is a standard MDP optimizing pseudo mean-variance and the outer one is a single parameter selection problem optimizing pseudo mean. We use the sensitivity analysis of MDPs to derive the properties of this bilevel problem. By solving inner standard MDPs for pseudo mean-variance optimization, we can identify worse policy spaces dominated by optimal policies of the pseudo problems. We propose an optimization algorithm which can find the globally optimal policy by repeatedly removing worse policy spaces. The convergence and complexity of the algorithm are studied. Another policy dominance property is also proposed to further improve the algorithm efficiency. Numerical experiments demonstrate the performance and efficiency of our algorithms. To the best of our knowledge, our algorithm is the first that efficiently finds the globally optimal policy of mean-variance optimization in MDPs. These results are also valid for solely minimizing the variance metrics in MDPs.

    Abstract Objective: A driver's active emergency response in dangerous traffic scenes consists of two parts, including reaction behavior and physiological state. In dangerous traffic scenes, the driver's active emergency response has an important impact on human collision injury. Clarifying the driver's active emergency response is an important prerequisite for the study of human collision injury under nonstandard posture. Therefore, this study investigates the driver's active emergency response in different inevitable collision scenes using driving simulator.
    Methods: A driving simulator with a high-speed camera system and human physiological signal acquisition system was first built. Then, three typical vehicle dangerous collision scenes were developed, including frontal collision, side collision, and rear-end collision. Finally, twenty participants (15 males and 5 females) were recruited for a driving experiment, and their active emergency responses were recorded and analyzed.
    Results: All subjects would rotate the steering wheel to the left or right in the active emergency state, and the rotation of the hand would also cause the subject's upper body to tilt in the same direction. The maximum angle for male subjects to rotate the steering wheel was 59.98°, while for the female subjects, it was 44.28°. In addition, the maximum grip force between the male subjects and the steering wheel was 280.5 N, compared to 192.5 N for female subjects. Compared to the female participants, the male participants not only have a greater rotation angle and a greater grip force on the steering wheel, but also have greater pressure on the brake pedal, and the foot moves quickly from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal and presses the brake pedal.
    Conclusions: Drivers have different active emergency responses to different vehicle collision scenes. Quantitative statistics of driver's active emergency response will have important guiding significance for the analysis of the impact of human active emergency response on human injury characteristics in subsequent vehicle collision experiments.

    Abstract Background: Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been used in China for a long time and is gradually gaining more and more recognition worldwide. Gualou Guizhi Decoction (GGD) has long been used as a folk medicine for the treatment of rheumatic diseases, but its bioactive components and therapeutic mechanisms are still unclear.
    Methods: An integrated approach using network pharmacology and molecular docking and using methotrexate as a positive control drug.
    Results: We obtained 157 active ingredients of GGD, 7542 RA disease targets and 49 intersecting targets. GO and KEGG enrichment analysis revealed that their functions were mainly related to cytokine active metal ion binding, enzyme binding and DNA binding, and enriched in TNF signaling pathway, T cell receptor signaling pathway, Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, RA pathway and other signaling pathways that are closely related to RA. The molecular docking results show that the effector components of GGD bind better to the core targets of RA, and some are even better than methotrexate.
    Conclusion: The therapeutic effect of GGD for RA is achieved by affecting the core targets such as VEGFA, IL-1β, IL6, CXCL8, CCL2, and JUN, which together interfere with the tumor necrosis factor signaling pathway and RA pathway to treat RA. The above study provides new ideas for further exploration of this classic formula in the future.

    Abstract Aim: The objective of this study is to explore the impact and underlying mechanism of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi stem and leaf flavonoids (SSFs) on cognitive impairment caused by intracerebroventricular injection of okadaic acid (OA) in rats.
    Methods: An experimental model of Alzheimer's disease (AD) was induced in rats by intracerebroventricular injection of OA, resulting in memory impairment. The Morris water maze test was employed to confirm the successful establishment of the memory impairment model. The rats that exhibited significant memory impairment were randomly divided into different groups, including a model group, three SSFs dose groups (25, 50, and 100 mg/kg), and a positive control group treated with Ginkgo biloba tablets (GLT) at a dose of 200 mg/kg. To evaluate the learning and memory abilities of the rats, the Morris water maze test was conducted. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was used to observe any morphological changes in neurons. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was performed to measure the expression of choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) protein. Western blotting (WB) was utilized to assess the phosphorylation levels of tau protein at Ser262 and Ser396. The activities of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and constitutive nitric oxide synthase (cNOS) were quantified using ultraviolet spectrophotometry. The levels of inflammatory factors, including interleukin-1β (IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and interleukin-6 (IL-6), were measured using ELISA.
    Results: In rats, the administration of OA via intracerebroventricular injection resulted in cognitive impairment, neuropathological changes, and alterations in protein expression and activity levels. Specifically, the protein expression of ChAT was significantly reduced (P<0.01), while the phosphorylation levels of tau protein at Ser262 and Ser396 were significantly increased (P<0.01). Moreover, iNOS activity in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex exhibited a significant increase (P<0.01), whereas cNOS activity showed a decrease (P<0.05). Furthermore, the levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in the cerebral cortex were elevated (P<0.01), while the level of IL-6 was decreased (P<0.05). The administration of three doses of SSFs and GLT to rats exhibited varying degrees of improvement in the aforementioned pathological alterations induced by OA.
    Conclusion: SSFs demonstrated the ability to enhance cognitive function and mitigate memory deficits in rats following intracerebroventricular injection of OA. This beneficial effect may be attributed to the modulation of ChAT protein expression, tau hyperphosphorylation, NOS activity, and inflammatory cytokine levels by SSFs.

    Abstract Despite adjuvant chemotherapy and endocrine therapy in luminal breast cancer (LBC), relapses are common. Addressing this, we aim to develop a prognostic model to refine adjuvant therapy strategies, particularly for patients at high recurrence risk. Notably, obesity profoundly affects the tumor microenvironment (TME) of LBC. However, it is unclear whether obesity-related biological features can effectively screen high-risk patients. Utilizing weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WGCNA) on RNA sequencing (RNAseq) data, we identified seven obese LBC genes (OLGs) closely associated with patient prognosis. Subsequently, we developed a luminal obesity-gene clinical prognostic index (LOG-CPI), combining a 7-gene signature, TNM staging, and age. Its predictive efficacy was confirmed across validation datasets and a clinical cohort (5-year accuracy = 0.828, 0.760, 0.751, and 0.792, respectively). LOG-CPI emerges as a promising predictor for clinical prognosis and treatment response, helping distinguish molecular and immunological features in LBC patients and guiding clinical practice by identifying varying prognoses.
