    Abstract Over half of all patients with angina have no angiographically demonstratable obstructive coronary disease, with a significant proportion of these patients having undiagnosed microvascular dysfunction and/or vasospastic angina. In chronic coronary syndrome, ischemia with non-obstructive coronary artery disease (INOCA) often remains undiagnosed, or uninvestigated. INOCAmay occur due to vasospastic angina and microvascular dysfunction and require invasive assessment in the coronary catheterization lab. To evaluate INOCA coronary flow reserve (CFR) and the index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR) are used to assess microvascular dysfunction before acetylcholine provocation testing for coronary spasm. This review provides an overview of the invasive investigation of INOCA in the coronary catheterization lab for patients with angina to be optimally managed.

    Abstract Background: Although metrics of cardiovascular health have been associated with improved mortality, whether the association remains among individuals with a history of cancer has not been well characterized.
    Methods and results: The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data from 2009 to 2018 were used to identify individuals with and without a history of cancer. For each participant, American Heart Association Life's Essential 8 cardiovascular health metrics of health behaviors (diet, physical activity, nicotine exposure, and sleep) and health factors (body mass index, non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood glucose, and blood pressure) were obtained. All-cause, cardiovascular, and cancer-related mortality were noted. Out of 21 967 individuals, 8% had a history of cancer. In analyses adjusted for age, race and ethnicity, sex, and income among the whole cohort, better Life's Essential 8 cardiovascular health metrics were associated with lower all-cause (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR ], 0.38 [95% CI, 0.29-0.49];
    Conclusions: Better metrics of cardiovascular health, particularly health behaviors, are associated with improved all-cause, cardiovascular, and cancer mortality to a similar extent in individuals with and without cancer. Attempts to improve cardiovascular health should be prioritized similarly among individuals with and without cancer.

    Abstract The number of cancer survivors in the United States is projected to increase by 31% by 2030. With advances in early screening, diagnosis and therapeutic strategies, a steadily increasing number of patients are surviving cancer. Coronary artery disease (CAD) is now one of the leading causes of death amongst cancer survivors, with the latter group of patients having a higher risk of CAD compared to the general population. Our review covers a range of specific challenges faced by doctors when considering percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) in cancer patients; clinical outcomes in cancer patients undergoing PCI, as well as some important technical considerations to be made when making decisions regarding the management strategy in this special population of patients.

    Abstract Even though saphenous vein grafts (SVGs) are the most commonly used surgical conduits, their long-term patency is limited by accelerated atherosclerosis often resulting in acute coronary syndrome or asymptomatic occlusion. SVG intervention is associated with 2 significant challenges: a significant risk of distal embolization with resultant periprocedural myocardial infarction in the short-term and restenosis in the long-term. Several individual trials have compared bare metal stents with drug-eluting stents for SVG intervention. This review article discusses the pathophysiology of SVG lesions, indications for SVG intervention, and the challenges encountered, and also technical considerations for SVG intervention and the supporting evidence.
