Abstract I examine a speculative diagnosis made by Sigmund Freud regarding his patient's mother in his landmark 1905 paper describing a hysterical illness. Freud considered the impact of Dora's mother's mental state on her daughter, wondering whether the mother might suffer from a 'housewife's psychosis'. Here was an emphasis on the social structures of the times and differences between the parents in terms of sexual freedom and societal limitations placed on women. Freud's description drew attention to Dora's anxieties in relation to her parents, in particular the state of their sexual relationship and the apparently sanctioned entry of another couple, Frau and Herr K, into the parental relationship. In particular, the role of syphilis in the aetiology of sexual disturbances was considered, affecting men and their sexual partners, specifically their wives, who faced lifelong risks of morbidity, inadequate treatment and psychic disturbances at this time in 19th century Vienna.

Abstract The implementation of mobile health interventions is key to the future management of diabetes. A new model of digital care for type 2 diabetes using a Bluetooth-enabled blood glucose monitoring system has been implemented at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. The perceptions of patients, healthcare professionals, and executives involved in the implementation of this model have been assessed to establish the key facilitators and barriers to digital health intervention adoption.

Abstract Mucoepidermoid carcinoma is a rare neoplasm of the salivary gland of which the intraosseous variety is commonly observed with a female predilection and the affected side is more commonly in the mandible. It is usually perceived as an asymptomatic swelling that increases in volume over a few months to a year. They more frequently present as a cortical bulging and are mostly discovered as an accidental finding in a routine radiograph as a well-defined unilocular or multilocular radiolucency resembling an odontogenic cyst. The most widely accepted treatment is radical surgical resection due to its recurrence or metastatic nature. The current case is quite unusual developing in the posterior jaw as a result of an impacted third molar in a 22-year-old female patient.

Abstract Background: Vision restoration has been one of the most sought-after goals of ophthalmology because of its inception. Despite these problems being tackled from numerous different perspectives, a concrete solution has not yet been achieved. An optimal solution will have significant implications on the patient's quality of life, socioeconomic status, and mental health.
Methods: This article will explore new and innovative approaches with one common aim-to restore functional vision for the visually impaired. These novel techniques include 3D bioprinting, stem cell therapy, gene therapy, implantable devices, and optogenetics.
Results: While the techniques mentioned above show significant promise, they are currently in various stages of development ranging from clinical trials to commercial availability. Restoration of minimal vision in specific cases has already been achieved by the different methods but optimization of different parameters like biocompatibility, spatiotemporal resolution, and minimizing the costs are essential for widespread use.
Conclusion: The developments over the past decade have resulted in multiple milestones in each of the techniques with many solutions getting approved by the FDA. This article will compare these novel techniques and highlight the major advantages and drawbacks of each of them.

Abstract Extraovarian granulosa cell tumors (GCTs) are rare neoplasms. They arise from the ectopic gonadal tissue along the embryonal route of genital ridge. We present a case of an extraovarian tumor in an elderly female who presented with lump in the abdomen occupying the pelvic region. She was operated and the mass was excised with intact capsule. Histopathology revealed the mass to be an adult granulosa cell tumor. Extraovarian granulosa cell tumors are very rare with only 13 such cases reported in literature to date. The present case is the largest primary retroperitoneal adult granulosa cell tumor reported till date.

Abstract Introduction: Neurotoxicity is a well-documented side effect of ifosfamide chemotherapy. The presentation includes hallucinations, seizures, disorientation, coma, and death. Treatment with methylene blue can shorten the duration and severity of symptoms. Ifosfamide neurotoxicity almost always happens during or shortly after drug infusion and so is usually immediately recognized. Here, we describe a case of ifosfamide neurotoxicity with onset 14 days after treatment started.
Case presentation: A 25-year-old woman with round cell sarcoma of the jaw presented to the emergency department with 2 days of encephalopathy and bizarre behavior. Antipsychotic medications and benzodiazepines produced no benefit. After consultation, oncology recommended methylene blue, hypothesizing that her symptoms could be a rare presentation of delayed ifosfamide-induced neurotoxicity, 14 days after first administration. After 4 days of methylene blue infusion, her functioning returned to baseline.
Conclusion: Delayed ifosfamide-related neurotoxicity is a rare side effect of this chemotherapeutic agent and should be considered in the workup of altered mental status, even if symptoms occur after the previously accepted 5-day standard. In such patients, delayed symptomology may require extended use of methylene blue as treatment.

Abstract Existing research, including work specific to COVID-19, suggests that endorsement by medical practitioners increases vaccine uptake. Yet, vaccine hesitancy persists despite health professionals continuing to widely endorse multiple vaccines to combat COVID-19 since late 2020. Could endorsement by other trusted leaders reduce vaccine hesitancy? Although some studies suggest that trust in religious leaders can influence individuals' health attitudes and behaviors, the evidence is mixed. Our study explores the potential added value of messaging by religious leaders across religious traditions - specifically, it asks whether their endorsement of the COVID-19 vaccine might increase vaccine uptake in an environment where health professionals are already endorsing vaccines. To investigate this question, we conducted an online survey experiment with 6,000 respondents across five countries with different dominant religions (Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam). Respondents were randomly assigned to either a control group that only included endorsement by medical practitioners or a treatment group that added either endorsement by religious leaders or, for comparative purposes, endorsement by political leaders. We found that endorsement by religious leaders reduced vaccine hesitancy only in one country. These findings corroborate existing research that medical practitioners are the best line of defense to combat vaccine hesitancy. They also suggest the limitations of endorsement by non-experts.
