Abstract Introduction: The use of relevant sources of information and a high level of knowledge about risky behavior and ways of COVID-19 transmission are crucial for disease prevention and its spread. Aim: The aim of this study was to assess sources of information among medical students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Material and methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 373 students of the Faculty of Medicine University of Belgrade. The anonymous questionnaire consisted of 3 parts: socio-demographic characteristics, information sources and the attitude towards available information about COVID-19. Questionnaire was available online during January 2021. Results: At the beginning of the pandemic, one third of the students were informed several times a day (37.5%), latter it would drop to being informed several times a week (33.8%) (p < 0.05). Television and official websites were stated as the main information sources during the pandemic. Students of IV - VI year of medical school significantly more often informed themselves from official websites in contrast to I - III year students (75.5% vs 61.6%, p = 0.014). More than 2/3 of the students stated that the information about the coronavirus is accurate and up-to-date, but only a third were satisfied with the information during the pandemic. Conclusion: A large number of arteriolosclerotic CSVD patients complain of different types of headaches. The results of this study should emphasize the importance of mass and social media to public health policymakers as the most common sources of public information, which can reduce the spread of inaccurate information that can affect people's behavior towards a pandemic. This study also accentuated the need to make the younger student population aware of the importance of using relevant and reliable sources of information.

Abstract Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of stress among international medical students and factors associated with higher levels of student's stress during the COVID-19 epidemic in Serbia. Material and methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted using a five-section online questionnaire during January, 2021 among international medical students attending the Faculty of Medicine University of Belgrade, Studies in English in Serbia, using snowball sampling method. Results: A total of 52 international medical students with a mean age of 21.0 ± 2.2 years, 58% female, were enrolled. Stress level was rated higher than usual in 65% of students. The predictors of higher level of stress were: not being prepared for full online courses (p = 0.058), worry about own health (p = 0.04), worry about the health of loved ones (p = 0.058), concern about finances (p = 0.004) and exams/future study plans (p = 0.033), lack of energy (p = 0.012), strong emotions or mood swings (p = 0.004) and inability to get needed things from stores (p = 0.054). Fear or worry about the health of their loved ones, concern about money, as well as concern about exams or future study plans were independent predictors of the respondents' higher level of stress in multivariate analysis. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increase in the level of stress among the international medical students in Serbia. A higher level of stress was associated with fear about health of loved ones, concern about finances and exams/future study plans.

Abstract Introduction: Self-immolation is an uncommon way of attempting and committing a suicide, with a fatality rate of 80%. The risk factors in self-immolation victims vary depending on demographic characteristics, socio-economic and cultural factors as well as religious beliefs. Whether the COVID-19 pandemic was a potentially important stressor for self-immolation is still unknown, with insufficient studies examining this issue. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to examine the trend of self-immolation in a 13-year timeline, and the potential association of COVID-19 pandemic with the increase in the incidence and severity of self-immolation injuries in Serbia in 2021.
Materials and methods: The study included hospitalized patients due to intentional burns caused by self-immolation in the period from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2021. Joinpoint regression analysis was used for the analysis of continuous linear trends of self-immolation cases with change points.
Results: While a rising trend was observed in the 2008-2013 time segment, followed by a decline in the upcoming 2013-2016 time segment, a significant increase reached its maximum during COVID-19 pandemic (2021), with annual percent change of 37.1% (
Conclusion: In our study, a significant increase in the frequency of suicide attempts by self-immolation during COVID-19 pandemic was noticed. There was also an increased frequency of pre-existing psychiatric illness among patients during the pandemic period. With limited high-quality data available, the study adds to a rising body of evidence for assessment of outcomes of the pandemic on mental health and recognition of stressors for self-immolation.

Abstract Introduction: The analysis of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) for genetic abnormalities is a promising new approach for the diagnosis and prognosis of pancreatic cancer patients. Insights into the molecular characteristics of pancreatic cancer may provide valuable information, leading to its earlier detection and the development of targeted therapies.
Material and methods: We conducted a systematic review and a meta-analysis of studies that reported cfDNA in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The studies were considered eligible if they included patients with PDAC, if they had blood tests for cfDNA/ctDNA, and if they analyzed the prognostic value of cfDNA/ctDNA for patients' survival. The studies published before 22 October 2020 were identified through the PubMED, EMBASE, Web of Science and Cochrane Library databases. The assessed outcomes were the overall (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS), expressed as the log hazard ratio (HR) and standard error (SE). The summary of the HR effect size was estimated by pooling the individual trial results using the Review Manager, version 5.3, Cochrane Collaboration. The heterogeneity was assessed using the Cochran Q test and I
Results: In total, 48 studies were included in the qualitative review, while 44 were assessed in the quantitative synthesis, with the total number of patients included being 3524. Overall negative impacts of cfDNA and

Abstract Education is undergoing profound changes due to permanent technological innovations. This paper reports the results of a pilot study aimed at developing, implementing and evaluating the course, "Applicative Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Medicine," upon medical school entry. The Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, introduced a curriculum reform in 2014 that included the implementation of the course, "Applicative Use of ICT in Medicine" for first year medical students. The course was designed using a blended learning format to introduce the concepts of Web-based learning environments. Data regarding student knowledge, use and attitudes towards ICT were prospectively collected for the classes of 2015/16 and 2016/17. The teaching approach was supported by multimedia didactic materials using Moodle LMS. The overall quality of the course was also assessed. The five level Likert scale was used to measure attitudes related to ICT. In total, 1110 students were assessed upon medical school entry. A small number of students (19%) had previous experience with e-learning. Students were largely in agreement that informatics is needed in medical education, and that it is also useful for doctors (4.1±1.0 and 4.1±0.9, respectively). Ability in informatics and use of the Internet in education in the adjusted multivariate regression model were significantly associated with positive student attitudes toward ICT. More than 80% of students stated that they had learned to evaluate medical information and would use the Internet to search medical literature as an additional source for education. The majority of students (77%) agreed that a blended learning approach facilitates access to learning materials and enables time independent learning (72%). Implementing the blended learning course, "Applicative Use of ICT in Medicine," may bridge the gap between medicine and informatics upon medical school entry. Students displayed positive attitudes towards using ICT and gained adequate skills necessary to function effectively in an information-rich environment.
