    Abstract Background: To develop and internally validate a prediction model for identifying patients with hematologic diseases of fall risk.
    Research design and methods: This is a prospective cohort study from a prospective collection of data for 6 months. We recruited 412 patients with hematologic diseases in medical institutions and home environment of China. The outcome of the prediction model was fall or not. These variables were filtered via univariable logistic analysis, LASSO, and multivariable logistic analysis. We adopt an internal validation method of K-fold cross validation. The area under the ROC curve and the H-L test were used to evaluate the discrimination and calibration of the model.
    Results: Five influencing factors were identified multivariable logistic regression analysis. The established model equation is as follows: the H-L goodness-of-fit test of the model
    Conclusion: Our equation has good sensitivity and specificity in predicting the fall risk of patients with hematologic diseases, and has certain positive significance for clinical assessment of their fall risk.

    Abstract Background & aims: Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) are predictive biomarkers of favorable clinical outcomes and immunotherapy response in several solid malignancies, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the relationship between TLSs and NSCLC prognosis has not been eludicated from the aspects of location, density, and maturity. This study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological and prognostic significance of TLSs in NSCLC.
    Methods: A collection of 151 resected pulmonary nodules in patients with NSCLC was retrospectively analyzed. Two experienced pathologists reviewed hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) slides and assessed TLS scores at different anatomic subregions. Then, we analyzed their correlation with clinicopathologic parameters and CD8 staining intensity and assessed multiple clinicopathological factors affecting patient prognosis.
    Results: CD8 expression was correlated with total (TLS-CT) (P = 0.000), aggregates (Agg) (TLS-CT) (P = 0.001), follicles (FOL)-I (TLS-CT) (P = 0.025), and TLS(overall) (P = 0.013). TLS scores in the central tumor (CT) and invasion margin (IM) areas were negatively correlated with distant metastasis and Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) stage in NSCLC patients, while TLS score in the CT area was positively correlated with CD8 expression. TLS (overall), Agg (TLS-CT), and FOL-I (TLS-CT) were positively correlated with distant metastasis, UICC stage, and CD8 expression in NSCLC patients. Agg (TLS-IM) was positively correlated with distant metastasis and UICC stage. FOL-I (TLS-IM) was positively correlated with UICC stage. FOL-II (TLS-IM) was positively correlated with distant metastasis (P < 0.05). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that unfavorable independent prognostic factors were associated with metastasis status and UICC stage. Independent prognostic factors with protective effects included Agg (TLS-CT), FOL-I (TLS-CT), total (TLS-CT), and overall TLS (P < 0.05).
    Conclusion: Histological score assessment of H&E sections of Agg (TLS-CT), FOL-I (TLS-CT), total (TLS-CT), and overall TLS levels in NSCLC has prognostic value.

    Abstract Tea tourism has gained prominence recently, particularly with the recognition of traditional Chinese tea processing techniques as an intangible cultural heritage. Nevertheless, as a niche form of tourism, knowledge gaps persist regarding the understanding of tea tourists’ perceptions of the tourism environment and their subsequent impact on behavior intentions. Underpinned by affordance theory, this study aims to investigate the role of tourism environment affordance in shaping behavior intentions through emotional value and cultural identity. A structural equation modeling (SEM) approach was employed to analyze survey data collected from 296 online responses provided by tea tourists. The key findings are as follows: (1) tea tourists primarily visit sites like a tea village, tea garden, and tea house, typically once or twice annually, with visits lasting 2–4 or 4–8 h; (2) convenient transportation and facilities, educational opportunities, and well-designed environments emerge as the most influential aspects of tourism environment affordance; and (3) tourism environment affordance significantly influences emotional value and cultural identity, and these in turn act as mediators between tourism environment affordance and behavior intentions. Therefore, this study expands the application of affordance theory to tea tourism by elucidating how perceptions of tourism environment affordance impact tea tourists’ behavior intentions and it deepens our understanding of the flow of cultural ecosystem services. Additionally, it underscores the pivotal role of tourism in providing cultural ecosystem services for preserving intangible cultural heritage and nurturing cultural identity. Practical implications for promoting tea tourism as cultural ecosystem services are also gleaned from our findings.

    Abstract Abstract Endovascular treatment is widely used in acute cerebral infarction (ACI), but patient prognosis varies greatly. We aimed to investigate the predictive value of midline shift (MLS) threshold for the clinical prognosis of patients with ACI who undergo emergency endovascular treatment. We prospectively enrolled patients with ACI who received endovascular treatment within 24 h of onset. Cranial images were collected within 24 h after endovascular treatment. We assessed MLS at the level of the midbrain, pineal calcification, septum pellucida, and falx cerebri and noted the maximum MLS (MLS[max]) among these locations. Functional outcomes were assessed at 90 days using the modified Rankin Scale. Receiver operating characteristic curves and optimal cutoff points were used to analyze the predictive value of MLS. We enrolled 82 patients, including 46 with poor outcomes. Although the MLS values at all levels were significantly different between the poor and favorable outcome groups (p < 0.01), the MLS(max) tended to be a better marker for 90-day poor outcome. To predict poor outcome, the optimal cutoff values for MLS(max) within 24 and 48 h after intervention were 0.45 and 2.35 mm, respectively. MLS(max) has predictive value for patient prognosis.

    Abstract Objective: To examine the therapeutic mechanism of astragaloside IV (AS-IV) in the management of retinal ganglion cell (RGC) injury induced by high glucose (HG), a comprehensive approach involving the integration of network pharmacology and conducting in vitro and in vivo experiments was utilized.
    Methods: A rat model of diabetic retinopathy (DR) injury was created by administering streptozotocin through intraperitoneal injection. Additionally, a model of RGC injury induced by HG was established using a glucose concentration of 0.3 mmol/mL. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) images were captured 8 weeks after the injection of AS-IV. AS-IV and FBS were added to the culture medium and incubated for 48 h. The viability of cells was assessed using a CCK-8 assay, while the content of reactive oxygen species (ROS) was measured using DCFH-DA. Apoptosis was evaluated using Annexin V-PI. To identify the targets of AS-IV, hyperglycemia, and RGC, publicly available databases were utilized. The Metascape platform was employed for conducting GO and KEGG enrichment analyses. The STRING database in conjunction with Cytoscape 3.7.2 was used to determine common targets of protein-protein interactions (PPIs) and to identify the top 10 core target proteins in the RGC based on the MCC algorithm. qRT-PCR was used to measure the mRNA expression levels of the top10 core target proteins in RGCs.
    Results: OCT detection indicated that the thickness of the outer nucleus, and inner and outer accessory layers of the retina increased in the AS-IV treated retina compared to that in the DM group but decreased compared to that in the CON group. Coculturing RGC cells with AS-IV after HG induction resulted in a significant increase in cell viability and a decrease in ROS and apoptosis, suggesting that AS-IV can reduce damage to RGC cells caused by high glucose levels by inhibiting oxidative stress. There were 14 potential targets of AS-IV in the treatment of RGC damage induced by high glucose levels. The top 10 core target proteins identified by the MCC algorithm were HIF1α, AKT1, CTNNB1, SMAD2, IL6, SMAD3, IL1β, PPARG, TGFβ1, and NOTCH3. qRT-PCR analysis showed that AS-IV could upregulate the mRNA expression levels of SMAD3, TGF-β1, and NOTCH3, and downregulate the mRNA expression levels of HIF1α, AKT1, CTNNB1, SMAD2, SMAD3, and IL-1β in high glucose-induced RGC cells.
    Conclusion: The findings of this study validate the efficacy of astragaloside IV in the treatment of DR and shed light on the molecular network involved. Specifically, HIF1α, AKT1, CTNNB1, SMAD2, SMAD3, and IL-1β were identified as the crucial candidate molecules responsible for the protective effects of astragaloside IV on RGCs.

    Abstract Aiming at these problems of image colorization algorithms based on deep learning, such as color bleeding and insufficient color, this paper converts the study of image colorization to the optimization of image semantic segmentation, and proposes a fully automatic image colorization model based on semantic segmentation technology. Firstly, we use the encoder as the local feature extraction network and use VGG-16 as the global feature extraction network. These two parts do not interfere with each other, but they share the low-level feature. Then, the first fusion module is constructed to merge local features and global features, and the fusion results are input into semantic segmentation network and color prediction network respectively. Finally, the color prediction network obtains the semantic segmentation information of the image through the second fusion module, and predicts the chrominance of the image based on it. Through several sets of experiments, it is proved that the performance of our model becomes stronger and stronger under the nourishment of the data. Even in some complex scenes, our model can predict reasonable colors and color correctly, and the output effect is very real and natural.

    Abstract IntroductionCOVID-19, being a new type of infectious disease, holds significant implications for scientific prevention and control to understand its spatiotemporal transmission process. This study examines the diverse spatial patterns of COVID-19 within Wuhan by analyzing early case data alongside urban infrastructure information.MethodsThrough co-location analysis, we assess both local and global spatial risks linked to the epidemic. In addition, we use the Geodetector, identifying facilities displaying unique spatial risk characteristics, revealing factors contributing to heightened risk.ResultsOur findings unveil a noticeable spatial distribution of COVID-19 in the city, notably influenced by road networks and functional zones. Higher risk levels are observed in the central city compared to its outskirts. Specific facilities such as parking, residence, ATM, bank, entertainment, and hospital consistently exhibit connections with COVID-19 case sites. Conversely, facilities like subway station, dessert restaurant, and movie theater display a stronger association with case sites as distance increases, hinting at their potential as outbreak focal points.DiscussionDespite our success in containing the recent COVID-19 outbreak, uncertainties persist regarding its origin and initial spread. Some experts caution that with increased human activity, similar outbreaks might become more frequent. This research provides a comprehensive analytical framework centered on urban facilities, contributing quantitatively to understanding their impact on the spatial risks linked with COVID-19 outbreaks. It enriches our understanding of the interconnectedness between urban facility distribution and transportation flow, affirming and refining the distance decay law governing infectious disease risks.     Abstract N6-methyladenosine (m6A), the most abundant RNA modification within cells, participates in various biological and pathological processes, including self-renewal, invasion and proliferation, drug resistance, and stem cell characteristics. The m6A methylation plays a crucial role in tumors by regulating multiple RNA processes such as transcription, processing, and translation. Three protein types are primarily involved in m6A methylation: methyltransferases (such as METTL3, METTL14, ZC3H13, and KIAA1429), demethylases (such as FTO, ALKBH5), and RNA-binding proteins (such as the family of YTHDF, YTHDC1, YTHDC2, and IGF2BPs). Various metabolic pathways are reprogrammed in digestive tumors to meet the heightened growth demands and sustain cellular functionality. Recent studies have highlighted the extensive impact of m6A on the regulation of digestive tract tumor metabolism, further modulating tumor initiation and progression. Our review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the expression patterns, functional roles, and regulatory mechanisms of m6A in digestive tract tumor metabolism-related molecules and pathways. The characterization of expression profiles of m6A regulatory factors and in-depth studies on m6A methylation in digestive system tumors may provide new directions for clinical prediction and innovative therapeutic interventions.

    Abstract Introduction: Environmental regulation, as a vital component of public regulation in China, plays a crucial role in coordinating regional eco-efficiency, while the traditional hypothesis, Porter hypothesis, and uncertainty hypothesis offer three different perspectives for understanding the relationship between industry performance and environmental regulations.Methods: Based on the assumption of industry heterogeneity, 81 public-private partnership (PPP) waste-to-energy (WTE) incineration projects are analyzed using panel data from 66 cities within China during the period from 2013 to 2017 with the aims to reveal the underlying mechanism behind environmental regulation and the government subsides of public-private partnership waste-to-energy incineration projects by using multiple regression modeling.Results: The results show that the impact of environmental regulation on government subsides of PPP WTE projects has demonstrated an “Inverted-U”-shaped relationship with an inflection point, of which an increase in environmental regulation is positively correlated with an increase in subsidies at first then a negative correlation developing later.Discussion: The findings are significant in setting flexible environmental regulations according to the needs of regional economic and social development. In addition, they also supply a theoretical reference for promoting the WTE incineration industry’s sustainable and healthy development.

    Abstract Ecological problems such as coastal damage and hardening are prominent and can be influenced by human activity. It is necessary to carry out ecological restoration tailored to specific coastal ecological conditions. To obtain comparable evaluation results for coast ecological level and analyze the influencing factors, this study presented an evaluation method based on the ecological scenarios of coast sub-parts according to the structural heterogeneity of coast cross-sections. An empirical study of nine typical artificial coasts of Tianjin, China, determined that under the unified assessment guidelines, the overall ecological level of the living coasts was the highest, with fishery coasts being second highest. Meanwhile, the ecological level of the general defense coasts was poor; The load values of each principal component were obtained through principal component analysis, and the significant factors affecting the ecological level of the coast were selected. An orientation system for the ecological restoration of the typical artificial coasts of Tianjin was then established accordingly, which would be useful for guiding future ecological restoration work in coastal areas.
