Abstract Identifying motifs within sets of protein sequences constitutes a pivotal challenge in proteomics, imparting insights into protein evolution, function prediction, and structural attributes. Motifs hold the potential to unveil crucial protein aspects like transcription factor binding sites and protein-protein interaction regions. However, prevailing techniques for identifying motif sequences in extensive protein collections often entail significant time investments. Furthermore, ensuring the accuracy of obtained results remains a persistent motif discovery challenge. This paper introduces an innovative approach-a branch and bound algorithm-for exact motif identification across diverse lengths. This algorithm exhibits superior performance in terms of reduced runtime and enhanced result accuracy, as compared to existing methods. To achieve this objective, the study constructs a comprehensive tree structure encompassing potential motif evolution pathways. Subsequently, the tree is pruned based on motif length and targeted similarity thresholds. The proposed algorithm efficiently identifies all potential motif subsequences, characterized by maximal similarity, within expansive protein sequence datasets. Experimental findings affirm the algorithm's efficacy, highlighting its superior performance in terms of runtime, motif count, and accuracy, in comparison to prevalent practical techniques.

Abstract Objectives: Health care workers are one of the groups at risk of influenza. Currently, influenza vaccination is very important more than ever before. Influenza is evolutionarily similar to SARS-CoV-2, and they have some common epitopes and mechanisms. Thus reducing the severity of COVID-19 disease by influenza vaccination seems possible. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between influenza vaccination and COVID-19 infection among clinical nurses.
Methodology: The present study is a prospective analysis of nurses working in educational-medical hospitals of Ardabil. In this study, two groups of nurses were considered as case and control groups. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software and descriptive (mean, standard deviation and frequency) and analytical (Chi-square) tests.
Results: A total of 279 individuals were included in the study according to the research criteria. The maximum duration of the disease was one week in the control group and four weeks in the case group. Chi-square test showed that there was a significant difference in terms of disease duration between the two groups (
Conclusion: Influenza vaccine reduces the incidence of COVID-19 and reduces the need for hospitalization in patients with this disease. However, due to the positive effects of influenza vaccine on COVID-19 and its low cost, it is recommended to inject influenza vaccine more than before.

Abstract Background and purpose: Childbirth is one of the most challenging events in a married woman's life and it has important emotional consequences for each woman. It is also a multidimensional process that has physical, physiological, psychological, emotional, cultural, and social dimensions. The aim of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the tendency to choose the type of delivery in pregnant mothers in hospitals of Ardabil Province in 2016.
Methodology: This study is a cross-sectional research that was conducted on 300 pregnant women who were referred to the hospitals for delivery during 3 months in 2016. Data collection tools was a five-part questionnaire including demographic, awareness, attitude, abstract norm questionnaires (other's role) in choosing delivery method, and Behavioral Intention Questionnaire was used in choosing the type of delivery.
Results: Statistically, there was not any significant relationship between level of awareness and type of delivery in pregnant mothers (
Conclusion: Regarding the results of research, especially the positive attitude and high level of awareness in the choice of natural delivery, the promotion of natural delivery will be possible with education.
