Abstract Systematic sampling is one of the simplest and popular methods for selecting a random sample from a finite population. The diagonal systematic sampling scheme is a type of systematic sampling design which has gained the attention of researchers during the last two decades. In this paper, a modification to the conventional diagonal systematic sampling design is proposed for use in situations where population units follow a linear trend. It is found that the proposed strategy reduces the variance of the diagonal systematic sampling thus resulting in an efficient sampling design. The mathematical conditions under which the suggested modified diagonal systematic sampling design is more precise than some of the available sampling designs are derived. With the help of a numerical illustration using milk yield data, it is shown that the proposed sampling scheme is more efficient than some of the available sampling schemes.

Abstract Relational systems are like a gear wheel in organizational processes that keeps employees connected and moving. These relationships are developed and maintained within the work environment for task accomplishment. But these relational systems are originating other outcomes that directly and indirectly affect the organizational process. The present study aimed to explore the outcomes of positive workplace relational systems. Under qualitative phenomenological approach followed a classical content analysis technique employed to analyze the data collected from 20 Bank employees through semi-structured interviews. The data analysis revealed that outcomes of positive relational systems varied depending on the duration and quality of relationships. Organizational culture identified as an important factor that influences the quality of relationships and their outcomes. The data analysis revealed that positive workplace relational systems along with positive behavioral outcomes also develop negative outcomes among employees such as perception of organizational politics. This study argued that outcomes of positive workplace relational systems depend on the perception and need satisfaction of participants. The result highlighted the important areas for individuals and organizations to consider in the context of relationship management, developing interpersonal skills in employees, and encouraging relationship generosity. It will help to enhance the well-being of employees and improve organizational performance.

Abstract In survey sampling, the randomized response technique is a useful tool to collect reliable data in many fields including sociology, education, economics, and psychology etc. Over the past few decades, many variants of quantitative randomized response models have been developed by researchers. The existing literature on randomized response models lacks a neutral comparative study of different models to help the practitioners choose the appropriate model for a given practical problem. In most of the existing studies, the authors tend to show only the favorable results by hiding the cases where their suggested models are inferior to the existing models. This approach often leads to biased comparisons which may badly misguide the practitioners when choosing a randomized response model for a practical problem at hand. This paper attempts a neutral comparison of six existing quantitative randomized response models using separate as well as joint measures of respondent-privacy and model-efficiency. The findings suggest that one model may perform better than the other model in terms of efficiency but may perform worse when other metrics of model quality are taken into account. The current study guides practitioners in choosing the right model for a given problem under a particular situation.

Abstract This study describes teachers’ perspectives on disruptive student behaviors in early childhood education classrooms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Using an ecological model, this paper describes interviews with 26 teachers working in early childhood education. The findings show that home, school, and society do not play optimal roles in children’s education, which leads to disruption in classrooms. Illiteracy and socioeconomic problems at home prevent parents from playing their required roles, and schools are often overcrowded and have unattractive classrooms. Teachers are minimally qualified and have few teaching-learning materials at their disposal. Fear of violence is another factor. These factors do not support the behavioral development of young children. The three major circles (home, school, society) that comprise a child’s ecology are inadequate, which leads to classroom disruption, lack of motivation, and poor behavior that endangers the continuation of education.

Abstract The Internet has become a vital source of knowledge and communication in recent times. Continuous technological advancements have changed the way businesses operate, and everyone today lives in the digital world of engineering. Because of the Internet of Things (IoT) and its applications, people's impressions of the information revolution have improved. Malware detection and categorization are becoming more of a problem in the cybersecurity world. As a result, strong security on the Internet could protect billions of internet users from harmful behavior. In malware detection and classification techniques, several types of deep learning models are used; however, they still have limitations. This study will explore malware detection and classification elements using modern machine learning (ML) approaches, including K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Extra Tree (ET), Random Forest (RF), Logistic Regression (LR), Decision Tree (DT), and neural network Multilayer Perceptron (nnMLP). The proposed study uses the publicly available dataset UNSWNB15. In our proposed work, we applied the feature encoding method to convert our dataset into purely numeric values. After that, we applied a feature selection method named Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TFIDF) based on entropy for the best feature selection. The dataset is then balanced and provided to the ML models for classification. The study concludes that Random Forest, out of all tested ML models, yielded the best accuracy of 97.68 %.
