Abstract Cancer immunotherapy is a rapidly growing field that is completely transforming oncology care. Mining this knowledge base for biomedically important information is becoming increasingly challenging, due to the expanding number of scientific publications, and the dynamic evolution of this subject with time. In this study, we have employed a literature-mining approach that was used to analyze the cancer immunotherapy-related publications listed in PubMed and quantify emerging trends. A total of 93,033 publications published in 5055 journals have been retrieved, and 141 meaningful topics have been identified, which were further classified into eight distinct categories. Statistical analysis indicates a mean annual increase in the number of published papers of approximately 8% in the last 20 years. The research topics that exhibited the highest trends included "immune checkpoint inhibitors," "tumor microenvironment," "HPV vaccination," "CAR T-cells," and "gene mutations/tumor profiling." The top identified cancer types included "lung," "colorectal," and "breast cancer," and a shift in popularity from hematological to solid tumors was observed. As regards clinical research, a transition from early phase clinical trials to randomized control trials was recorded, indicating that the field is entering a more advanced phase of development. Overall, this mining approach provided an unbiased analysis of the cancer immunotherapy literature in a time-conserving and scale-efficient manner.

Abstract Background: Ureteral injuries are not very common and can occur after many surgical procedures. Kidney salvage is desirable. Renal autotransplantation is a final option for some cases. In this case, we report an autotransplantation of the kidney after an iatrogenic injury of the ureter with totally extraperitoneal approach.
Case report: A 41 years old female underwent left endoscopic ureterolithotomy with holmium laser for ureteral calculi. An iatrogenic ureteral injury, probably ureteral avulsion, occurred. After multiple interventions, she referred to us with a nephrostomy tube. Imaging was performed and left renal autotransplantation was chosen as surgical management. The approach was totally extraperitoneal. No alteration of renal function or of urine outflow was observed during the follow up.
Conclusions: The report supports the safety and efficacy of renal autotransplantation.

Abstract Smoking represents perhaps the single most important health risk factor and a global contributor to mortality that can unquestionably be prevented. Smoking is responsible for many diseases, including various types of cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, coronary heart disease, peripheral vascular disease and peptic ulcer, while it adversely affects fetal formation and development. Since smoking habit duration is a critical factor for mortality, the goal of treatment should be its timely cessation and relapse prevention. Drug intervention therapy is an important ally in smoking cessation. Significant positive steps have been achieved in the last few years in the development of supportive compounds. In the present review, we analyze reports studying the role of Corticotropin Releasing Factor (CRF), the principle neuroendocrine mediator of the stress response and its two receptors (CRF1 and CRF2) in the withdrawal phase as well as in the abstinence from nicotine use. Although still in pre-clinical evaluation, therapeutic implications of these data were investigated in order to highlight potential pharmaceutical interventions.

Abstract Introduction and objectives: Pollen calendars have been proved clinically important in allergic disease management, as differences in airborne allergens exist not only between different countries but also between regions of the same country as well. This study aims to provide new data regarding the atmospheric pollen and fungi content of a Mediterranean region (Western Thrace/North-East Greece) and discuss seasonal trends, differences in pollen grains and fungi spores' circulation over the years, and correlations with climate parameters.
Material and methods: A 7-day continuously running volumetric trap was used to collect circulating pollen grains and fungi spores. Pollen taxa and fungi were characterized by standard protocols and counted as grains /m
Results: Pollen grains from nine pollen families were identified, including five arboreal, two nonarboreal taxa, and spores from two fungi species. The three most prevalent taxa were
Conclusion: In this study, the pollenic and fungal spectrum of a Mediterranean region and information that can be proved clinically significant for the appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic approach of allergic patients was presented.

Abstract Introduction: People suffering from rotator cuff tendinopathy exhibit reduced mobility due to pain. The pain and the limited functionality affect negatively the overall quality of life.
Aim: The present study aimed to investigate the intensity of pain, the functionality of the upper limbs and the quality of life of patients with rotator cuff tendinopathy by using two different therapeutic modalities, shockwave and ultrasound, whose outcomes were assessed pre-treatment and post-treatment as well as after a 4-week follow-up.
Materials and methods: Out of the total sample of 115 patients with rotator cuff tendinopathy, 56 patients constituted the shockwave intervention group, 47 patients constituted the therapeutic ultrasound group and 12 patients made up the control group. The self-administered questionnaire “The University of Peloponnese Pain, Functionality and Quality of Life Questionnaire, UoP – PFQ” was used where the intensity of pain, functionality and quality of life of the upper limbs were evaluated on a five-point Likert scale, pre-treatment, post-treatment and at a 4-week follow-up.
Results: The pain intensity was reduced and both the functionality and quality of life were improved after shockwave therapy post-treatment (p<0.001) and at a 4-week follow-up (p<0.001) compared with those found after the treatment. Similar improvements in all three parameters were also observed after ultrasound treatment but the outcomes were not as pronounced as in the shockwave group.
Conclusion: Both radial shockwave and ultrasound therapies were found to be effective in the treatment of rotator cuff tendinopathy, the statistical analysis showing that radial shockwave therapy was superior to the ultrasound therapy post-treatment and at the 4-week follow-up.

Abstract Objective: Women diagnosed with breast cancer younger than 45 years (young breast cancer survivors-YBCS) and their biological relatives face significant stressors. Although family support is an important coping resource, little is known about YBCS' and relatives' support and whether it is interdependent. The study described family support in YBCS and their biological relatives; identified demographic, clinical, and psychosocial predictors of support; and determined the interdependence of support in YBCS-relatives family units.
Methods: Data were collected from a random sample of YBCS and their first- or second-degree female relatives. Actor-partner interdependence models (APIM) explored predictors and interdependence of YBCS' and relatives' family support in dyads (YBCS and relative) and triads (YBCS and two relatives).
Results: Among n = 310 YBCS and n = 431 first- or second-degree relatives, family support was higher in triads compared to dyads. APIMs identified actor effects in dyads, and actor and partner effects in triads. Across all family units, YBCS' higher self-efficacy was associated with higher YBCS support (actor effect) and relative support (partner effect); YBCS' prior diagnosis of depression was associated with lower YBCS and relative support (actor and partner effect); cost-related lack of access to care was associated with lower support among YBCS (actor effect) and relatives (actor and partner effect).
Conclusions: Family support was interdependent and was affected by self-efficacy, depression, and access to care. Interventions should include YBCS and relatives, enhance self-efficacy and access to care.

Abstract Background: Modern urban populations exhibit considerable internal heterogeneity. Several social groups, such as ethnic minorities or immigrants, constitute individual clusters with different demographic and epidemiological characteristics.
Methods: Death records were collected from the Municipality Registry between 1999 and 2008. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was conducted for (i) natively born Greeks, (ii) former USSR-repatriated Greeks and (iii) Roma. Further evaluation was conducted by log-rank (Mantel-Cox) test. Relative mortality rates were assessed by means of cross-tabulation (Pearson's χ(2)).
Results: Statistically significant differences in median survival were observed among the three social groups (P < 0.001). The relative mortality from infectious diseases was higher in the Roma population compared with natively born Greeks, odds ratio (OR) = 8.31 [confidence interval (CI) 95% 3.19-21.61]. More than 70% of these deaths were attributed to respiratory tract infections and were associated with children under the age of 5. Excess mortality due to external causes, injuries and substance abuse was observed in repatriated males compared with their natively born counterparts, OR = 2.27 (CI 95% 1.35-3.81).
Conclusions: Specific public health interventions are required, to improve the survival of different cultural groups. For example, improvement of immunization status and increase in overall hygiene awareness can ameliorate high infant/childhood mortality in Roma population, while social integration can help reduce acculturation-related mortality among repatriated Greeks.

Abstract Introduction: Patients with plantar fasciitis usually suffer from reduced mobility due to the pain caused by the movement of the tendons involved.
Aim: This study was aimed to compare both shockwave and ultrasound therapies in patients with plantar fasciitis by assessing the pain intensity, and both the functionality of the lower limbs and the quality of life impairments.
Methods: Total amount of 88 patients with plantar fasciitis constituted the shockwave group, 56 the ultrasound group and 15 the control group. The self-administered questionnaire "University of Peloponnese Pain, Functionality and Quality of Life Questionnaire" was used. The intensity of pain, functionality impairment and quality of life impairment were evaluated on a five-point Likert scale, before treatment, immediately after and at 4-week follow-up.
Results: The pain reduction and the improvement of functionality and quality of life after shockwave treatment and ultrasound treatment significantly increased both post-treatment (p<0,001) and at the 4-week follow-up (p<0,001) compared to post-treatment. However, the improvements in the ultrasound group were not as pronounced as in shockwave group (p<0,001).
Conclusions: Although both radial shockwave and ultrasound therapies were found to be effective in patients with plantar fasciitis, the statistical analysis showed that radial shockwave is significantly more effective than ultrasound therapy.
