Abstract Background: The integration of training sessions into modern education is of vital importance for such disciplines as Physical Education and First Aid for the non-core specialities. This research explored the opportunities to introduce a pilot programme for Sports Medicine based on the First Aid and Fitness Tests applications to develop critical thinking skills in students using an indirect learning method.
Methods: This research used the Fitness Tests application developed by the ConnectedPE software company. The software contains more than 30 fitness tests and indicates the goal, equipment, procedure and standards so that students can easily and accurately complete all tasks and improve their fitness. The experimental group involved 60 first-year students (25 females and 35 males). The average age is 18.2 years. The control group involved 28 males and 32 females with an average age of 18.3 years. Students were assigned randomly to groups to ensure the experiment's validity.
Results: The analysis of the pre-test and post-test of Critical Thinking Skills Success showed significant improvements in critical thinking skills (Z = -6.755 at p = 0.00) based on the integrated sports medicine programme. A negative correlation was observed between the post-test scores of Critical Thinking Skills Success and the Integrated Sports Medicine Test (r = -0.280, p < 0.05).
Conclusions: This article fills a gap in research on the possibility of integrating physical education and medicine into one ICT-based university course that would optimise study hours and develop critical thinking. The research's scientific value is to promote the discussion about the absence of a unified standard for the basic sports training of young individuals on a global scale. The practical significance lies in the enhanced development of critical thinking skills among students through integrated sports training sessions, as opposed to the conventional lecture format. The other important finding is the fact that the use of mobile applications and the development of a general programme in sports medicine have no positive impact or correlation with the academic outputs of students in these two disciplines. The research results can help educators to update curricula on physical education and extracurricular pre-medical training at universities. The perspective of this research is to integrate physical education with other academic disciplines, such as biology, mathematics, physics, and others, to determine the feasibility of this integration and investigate its effect on critical thinking.

Abstract With the increase of the incidence rate of digestive system diseases, digestive endoscopy has become an essential measure. The nursing quality of digestive endoscopy room will have a direct impact on the examination results and treatment effect, so improving the nursing quality of digestive endoscopy room has always been the focus of attention. In this paper, the smart electronic medical blockchain technology and hospital standardized nursing management mode are combined to develop the smart medical standardized nursing management mode. Firstly, 88 patients with digestive endoscopy in a hospital from October 2018 to October 2019 were selected as the experimental subjects: 44 cases in the control group and 44 cases in the experimental group. The control group implemented the traditional management mode of digestive endoscopy room, and the experimental group implemented the standardized nursing management mode of smart medicine. The blood pressure level before and after nursing and the probability of adverse reactions in the process of nursing were counted. After nursing, the patients were asked to fill in the nursing satisfaction questionnaire, evaluate the nursing quality of nursing staff, and make statistics and comparison on the occurrence of safety events in digestive endoscopy room. After nursing, the systolic pressure drop of the experimental group was 125.36 ± 7.27 mmhg, diastolic pressure drop was 73.24 ± 4.21 mmhg, and the incidence of adverse reactions was 11.36%. The satisfaction rate of the experimental group was 15%, 29.55%, and 22.73% higher than that of the control group. The average scores of nursing skills, operation level, and examination results of nursing staff in the experimental group were 94.49, 95.12, and 95.89, respectively; the qualified rate of disinfection of digestive endoscopy room in the experimental group was 100%, the degree of cooperation between doctors and nurses was 100%, the timely rate of emergency measures was 95.45%, and the incidence of accidents was 0%. This shows that, under the standardized nursing of smart medicine, the blood pressure of patients is more stable, the incidence of adverse reactions is lower, the nursing satisfaction is higher, and the nursing quality of nursing staff and the safety of digestive endoscopy room are also improved.

Abstract Objective: We aimed to assess the level of knowledge and awareness regarding the need for screening of early gastrointestinal cancer among residents of Sunan Yugur Autonomous County in China.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we conducted a survey among permanent residents of Sunan Yugur Autonomous County from January 2020 to January 2023 using a questionnaire to obtain data on knowledge regarding early gastrointestinal cancer screening.
Results: The survey included 12,000 residents. Among participants, 62.30% (7476/12,000) were aware of the need for early gastrointestinal cancer screening. Awareness about the need for early gastrointestinal cancer screening differed significantly based on participants' sex, age, level of education, area of residence, and ethnicity.
Conclusion: The level of awareness regarding the need for early gastrointestinal cancer screening was relatively low in our study population. The government and medical institutions should provide information and promote early gastrointestinal cancer screening in the region to improve the health status and quality of life among the Yugur people.

Abstract I recently published “Lithosphere thickness controls the extent of mantle melting, depth of melt extraction and basalt compositions in all tectonic settings on Earth – A review and new perspectives” in this journal to demonstratively summarize a major component of my 30-year dedicated research on the basalt problem with the emphasis that the paradigm “mantle potential temperature controls the extent and pressure of mantle melting and basalt compositions” that is inconsistent with observations and experimental petrology must be abandoned. As the change from “temperature control” to “lithosphere thickness control” is fundamental and unfamiliar to many, I encourage members of the community for debate. The community interest in the theme of the paper is reflected by more than 1000 reads and 50 recommendations in Rᴳ within 10 days of its publication. In addition to a few email exchanges, the commentary by Lustrino et al. (2022) is the first written discussion with interesting comments of both breadth and depth. Overall, their commentary is more highly affirmative rather than criticism. Most of the comments are not about Niu (2021) but more general and may be shared by the scientific community. Therefore, my response is intended to be thorough, in particular on issues and concepts that I consider the community needs to be correctly informed of. My reply follows four basic principles: [1] I maintain “Objectiveness and open-mindedness (vs. ‘confirmation bias’) are requisite twins for insights and discoveries.”; [2] I express my views based on observations, experimental petrology, well-understood concepts, logical reasoning and objective analysis, rather than personal opinions to “believe” or “disbelieve”; [3] I emphasize that some misattributions may be innocent, but should be avoided because they serve no favor to our science and scientific discussion; and [4] I try to use plain language to ensure my writing readily understood by the reader. For clarity, my reply follows the same numbered questions as in the commentary and I do not discuss issues on which the commenters agree with me. Figures referenced in quotations are those in Niu (2021). For consistency, mantle potential temperature is denoted with TMP (vs. TP)

Abstract Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) is a rare and highly aggressive hematological malignancy, there is no standard treatment and the prognosis is very poor. Affiliated Zhongshan Hospital of Dalian University report a case of 85-year-old BPDCN male patient treated with DVT regimen (decitabine combined with Venetoclax and thalidomide) and achieved complete remission. The patient with skin nodules and the pathology diagnosed BPDCN, the next generation sequencing of skin nodules showed mutations of IDH2 and ASXL1. DVT (decitabine combined with Venetoclax and thalidomide) has significant efficacy with rapid and deep remission for BPDCN, and the adverse effects is less, especially suitable for elderly patients who cannot tolerate intense chemotherapy.
