Abstract	Background: The establishment of a national haplotype database is important for forensic and genetic applications and requires studying genetic polymorphisms at Y-STR sites. However, the genetic structure of the Eastern Kazakhstan population is poorly characterised. Aim: To investigate the genetic polymorphisms of 27 Y-STR loci in the Kazakh population from Eastern Kazakhstan and analyse the population genetic relationships of the Eastern Kazakhs with other populations. Subjects and methods: The Yfiler Plus kit was utilised to genotype 246 healthy, unrelated males from Eastern Kazakhstan. Based on the raw data, haplotype and allele frequencies along with forensic parameters were calculated, and an MDS plot was constructed. Results: A total of 207 haplotypes were detected, of which 186 were unique. The haplotype diversity and discrimination capacity were 0.997 and 0.841, respectively. Population comparisons showed that Eastern Kazakhs have close genetic relationships with Kazakhs from Xinjiang, China. At the same time, a difference was found between the studied population and the previous one in the same part of Kazakhstan. Conclusions: The obtained haplotypes will help to expand the Kazakhstan Y-chromosome reference database and will be useful for future genetic research and forensic applications.

Abstract	Recurrent pregnancy loss is a complex health challenge with no universally accepted definition. Inconsistency in definitions involves not only the number of spontaneous abortions (two or three) that are accepted for recurrent pregnancy loss but the types of pregnancy and gestational age at miscarriage. Due to the heterogeneity of definitions and criteria applied by international guidelines for recurrent pregnancy loss, the true incidence of recurrent miscarriage, which is reported to range from 1% to 5%, is difficult to estimate. Moreover, the exact etiology of recurrent pregnancy loss remains questionable; thus, it is considered a polyetiological and multifactorial condition with many modifiable and non-modifiable factors involved. Even after thoroughly evaluating recurrent pregnancy loss etiology and risk factors, up to 75% of cases remain unexplained. This review aimed to summarize and critically analyze accumulated knowledge on the etiology, risk factors, relevant diagnostic options, and management approach to recurrent pregnancy loss. The relevance of various factors and their proposed roles in recurrent pregnancy loss pathogenesis remains a matter of discussion. The diagnostic approach and the management largely depend on the etiology and risk factors taken into consideration by a healthcare professional as a cause of recurrent miscarriage for a particular woman or couple. Underestimation of social and health consequences of recurrent pregnancy loss leads to compromised reproductive health and psychological well-being of women after miscarriage. Studies on etiology and risk factors for recurrent pregnancy loss, especially idiopathic, should be continued. The existing international guidelines require updates to assist clinical practice.

Abstract	Introduction: Spontaneous pregnancy loss (SPL) is a common health problem that affects 1:10 of childbearing women, and is linked with physical and psychological complications. As the number of nationwide studies on the incidence of SPL is few, especially from middle-income countries, in this study we investigated the epidemiology, complications and outcomes of SPL before 22 weeks of gestation by analyzing large-scale healthcare data from the Unified Nationwide Electronic Healthcare System (UNEHS) in Kazakhstan. Material and methods: A population-based study among women who experienced SPL in any healthcare setting of the Republic of Kazakhstan during the period of 2014-2019. The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) 10th edition and ICD 9th edition's procedural codes were utilized to retrieve data using relevant diagnostic and procedural codes. Results: In total, 207 317 records of women who have experienced an SPL before 22 weeks of gestation were analyzed from all Kazakhstani regions. The estimated prevalence of SPL was 8.7%, with a 20% decline over a 6-year period. The SPL cases ratio comprises on average 6.2 per 1000 reproductive-age women. Incomplete miscarriage (ICD-10 code "O03.4") was the most common type (37.8%), followed by blighted ovum (ICD-10 code "O02.0"; 34.1%) and missed abortion (ICD-10 code "O02.1"; 13.5%). The most common management methods were dilation and curettage of the uterus (ICD-9 code "69.0"; 84.7%) and aspiration curettage of the uterus (ICD-9 code "65.0"; 15%), whereas medical management was rarely performed (2.6%). Conclusion: The information available in UNEHS adequately identifies types of miscarriages and treatment methods. Although the prevalence of SPL before 22 weeks of gestation is decreasing, management of miscarriages requires closer attention.

Abstract	Twenty-seven thousand four hundred and eight adult males between 20 and 22 years of age who were otherwise healthy were examined to detect inguinal hernias. Eight hundred and eighty-five (3.2%) inguinal hernia cases were detected. These were 479 (54.1%) right inguinal hernias, 351 (39.7%) left inguinal hernias and 55 (6.2%) bilateral inguinal hernias. One hundred and eighty-five (20.9%) subjects reported first degree relatives and 147 (16.6%) subjects reported second degree relatives with inguinal hernias. It is concluded that these results may be a useful guide for future studies about the prevalence of inguinal hernias in the populations as a whole and suggest a familial predisposition.

Abstract	The virus diseases and their geographic distribution in the vineyards of the provinces Bursa, Bilecik, Sakarya, Tekirdag and Canakkale in Marmara region (Turkey) were investgated at 83 locations, recording following symptoms: Shortened internodes, double buds, enation, zigzag growth and abnoral axillary branches on shoots. The leaves show different chlorotic spots or yellow mosaic and enlarged petiolar sinus of the blade. Number and size of the clusters were decreased. Spreading rates ranged from 0 to >=50 % (7 locations). The American rootstocks were found as virus free. From 71 samples taken from diseased vines and analysed by ELISA following viruses were identified: Grapevine fanleaf (GFLV), arabis mosaic (AMV) and strawberry latent rigspot; 35 out of the 71 samples had GFLV and AMV. Virus vectors for grapvines such as Xiphinema index, X. americanum, X pachtaicum (first record in Turkey), and Longidorus spp. were isolated from the vineyard soils. [AZ 413] (E. Ilter, Izmir)

Abstract	The first observation of the decays B_{(s)}^{0}→J/ψpp[over ¯] is reported, using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.2 fb^{-1}, collected with the LHCb detector. These decays are suppressed due to limited available phase space, as well as due to Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka or Cabibbo suppression. The measured branching fractions are B(B^{0}→J/ψpp[over ¯])=[4.51±0.40(stat)±0.44(syst)]×10^{-7}, B(B_{s}^{0}→J/ψpp[over ¯])=[3.58±0.19(stat)±0.39(syst)]×10^{-6}. For the B_{s}^{0} meson, the result is much higher than the expected value of O(10^{-9}). The small available phase space in these decays also allows for the most precise single measurement of both the B^{0} mass as 5279.74±0.30(stat)±0.10(syst) MeV and the B_{s}^{0} mass as 5366.85±0.19(stat)±0.13(syst) MeV.

Abstract	The first amplitude analysis of the B^{±}→π^{±}K^{+}K^{-} decay is reported based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb^{-1} of pp collisions recorded in 2011 and 2012 with the LHCb detector. The data are found to be best described by a coherent sum of five resonant structures plus a nonresonant component and a contribution from ππ↔KK S-wave rescattering. The dominant contributions in the π^{±} K^{∓} and K^{+} K^{-} systems are the nonresonant and the B^{±}→ρ(1450)^{0}π^{±} amplitudes, respectively, with fit fractions around 30%. For the rescattering contribution, a sizable fit fraction is observed. This component has the largest CP asymmetry reported to date for a single amplitude of (-66±4±2)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. No significant CP violation is observed in the other contributions.

Abstract	An angular analysis of B^{0}→J/ψK^{+}π^{-} decays is performed, using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb^{-1} collected with the LHCb detector. The m(K^{+}π^{-}) spectrum is divided into fine bins. In each m(K^{+}π^{-}) bin, the hypothesis that the three-dimensional angular distribution can be described by structures induced only by K^{} resonances is examined, making minimal assumptions about the K^{+}π^{-} system. The data reject the K^{}-only hypothesis with a large significance, implying the observation of exotic contributions in a model-independent fashion. Inspection of the m(J/ψπ^{-}) vs m(K^{+}π^{-}) plane suggests structures near m(J/ψπ^{-})=4200 and 4600 MeV.

Abstract	The first observation of two structures consistent with resonances in the final states Λ_{b}^{0}π^{-} and Λ_{b}^{0}π^{+} is reported using samples of pp collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at sqrt[s]=7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb^{-1}. The ground states Σ_{b}^{±} and Σ_{b}^{*±} are also confirmed and their masses and widths are precisely measured.

Abstract	A measurement of the charm-mixing parameter y_{CP} using D^{0}→K^{+}K^{-}, D^{0}→π^{+}π^{-}, and D^{0}→K^{-}π^{+} decays is reported. The D^{0} mesons are required to originate from semimuonic decays of B^{-} and B[over ¯]^{0} mesons. These decays are partially reconstructed in a data set of proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV collected with the LHCb experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb^{-1}. The y_{CP} parameter is measured to be (0.57±0.13(stat)±0.09(syst))%, in agreement with, and as precise as, the current world-average value.
