Abstract The article deals with the problem of human dimension of politics in the new social reality. Profound changes in the modern world give new meanings and opportunities not only of technological, but also of ideological and socio-cultural character. An attempt is made to analyze a new type of personality – a “networked political man”; his characteristic features and competencies acquired in the information age are identified and described. Special attention is paid to communicative connections and relations in the space of virtual communications. The author substantiates the idea that personal projection of communicative interactions is important for the “networked political man”. Based on the content analysis of a number of sociological studies, the authors conclude that in a networked society the “networked political man’s” possibilities to influence the socio-political processes through communications are expanding.
