Abstract Abstract In the field of audiology, achieving accurate discrimination of auditory impairments remains a formidable challenge. Conditions such as deafness and tinnitus exert a substantial impact on patients’ overall quality of life, emphasizing the urgent need for precise and efficient classification methods. This study introduces an innovative approach, utilizing Multi-View Brain Network data acquired from three distinct cohorts: 51 deaf patients, 54 with tinnitus, and 42 normal controls. Electroencephalogram (EEG) recording data were meticulously collected, focusing on 70 electrodes attached to an end-to-end key with 10 regions of interest (ROI). This data is synergistically integrated with machine learning algorithms. To tackle the inherently high-dimensional nature of brain connectivity data, principal component analysis (PCA) is employed for feature reduction, enhancing interpretability. The proposed approach undergoes evaluation using ensemble learning techniques, including Random Forest, Extra Trees, Gradient Boosting, and CatBoost. The performance of the proposed models is scrutinized across a comprehensive set of metrics, encompassing cross-validation accuracy (CVA), precision, recall, F1-score, Kappa, and Matthews correlation coefficient (MCC). The proposed models demonstrate statistical significance and effectively diagnose auditory disorders, contributing to early detection and personalized treatment, thereby enhancing patient outcomes and quality of life. Notably, they exhibit reliability and robustness, characterized by high Kappa and MCC values. This research represents a significant advancement in the intersection of audiology, neuroimaging, and machine learning, with transformative implications for clinical practice and care.

Abstract This study was carried out in field of Sulimani Polytechnic University, Halabja Technical College of Applied Sciences, Department of Agriculture Project Management, in 2021-2022 to test of different types of peat moss (Latvia, Iraq, Turkish, Germany, and Holland), and various level of peat moss (0,2.5, and 5 percent) on the growth and yield of radish plant (Raphanus sativus). This experiment was designed complied random block design (RCBD), with fifteen treatments and three replications. As results, the morphological properties (chlorophyll, leave tall, leave weight before and after dry, root tall, root diameter, root weight before and after dry, root and leaves dry, root and leaves water content) showed that the statistically not significant different between treatments. However, the highest chlorophyll was taken from treatment Iraq+ level 5 percent (23.967). Also, the highest leave tall, leave weight before dry, root dimeter, root tall, and root weight before and after dry was obtained from treatment that consist of Germany peat moss + level 5 percent (18.4 cm, 22.2 g, 8.4 cm, 39.157 mm, 58.433 g, 2.333 g) respectively. Also, the maximum of leaves weight (g) after dry was obtained from the treatment of Holland peat moss + level 5 percent (2,6 g). Furthermore, the interaction between treatment showed statically not significant different between them. Thus, application of peat moss is important to cultivation of radish and organic crop production. Even so, recommendation to the farm and scientist to use higher level that the level used in this study.

Abstract Background: Conservative methods are the traditional options in the management of lumber spondylolysis whereas surgery is indicated for symptomatic patients not responding to medical treatment and cases with a multilevel pars defect. The aim of this prospective study was to evaluate the clinical, functional, and radiologic results of using bone graft and fixation with pedicular screw-rod-laminar hook construct in treatment of lumber spondylolysis.
Patients and methods: Between October 2017 and January 2020, 20 patients with symptomatic lumbar spondylolysis not responding to conservative treatment for more than 6 months were treated by defect reconstruction fixation using bone block autografting and pedicular screw laminar hook construct. The mean follow-up time was 12.5 ± 03.5 months. All patients were examined pre- and postoperatively and followed up clinically (pain [visual analog scale]), functionally (Oswestry Disability Index, Modified Prolo Functional Economic Scales, and Macnab criteria), and radiologically (pars defect healing). Perioperative outcomes and complications were documented.
Results: Clinical, radiologic, and functional outcomes were significantly improved. Bony union was evident in all patients (100%). Blood loss, operative time, and hospital stay increased in cases with a multilevel pars defect and cases with associated injuries. Two cases reported complications in this study as misplaced pedicular screw and superficial wound infection.
Conclusions: Reconstruction fixation of pars defect using this construct is an effective, feasible procedure in the treatment of Lumbar spondylolysis regarding the preservation of lumbar motion and avoidance of adjacent-segment problems after fusion.

Abstract Mid-infrared Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy of liquid biological samples is limited by the high absorption of water in this spectral range, which makes conventional transmission cuvettes unsuitable as their centimeter-scale length is already too big. The most common alternative relies on the use of attenuated total reflection (ATR) accessories, which provide a small interaction path length for light along the interface between the analyte and the expensive ATR crystals. In this work, we address this issue by proposing a disposable and low-cost micro-transmission cell. Its construction relies on a simple technique, which consists of dispersing plastic spherical microparticles in a liquid sample before dispensing it between two pieces of silicon assembled one onto the other and acting as windows for the cell. Consequently, the microparticles act as a spacer of very precise height in-between the two silicon windows. This technique allows easy construction of infrared absorption cells with near-optimum optical interaction path length just by selecting the most appropriate particle size. The concept is demonstrated by measuring the concentration of glucose in aqueous solutions using microspheres of diameter 20 μm then 40 μm and analyzing the corresponding glucose absorption peaks in the wavenumber range 950-1200 cm
