Abstract Nurses have experienced several psychological and work-related issues during the COVID-19 pandemic, including pandemic burnout and job burnout. The aim of this study was to examine the impact of social support and resilience on COVID-19 pandemic burnout and job burnout among nurses. We conducted a cross-sectional study in Greece. The study population included 963 nurses. We measured social support, resilience, COVID-19 pandemic burnout, and job burnout with the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Brief Resilience Scale, COVID-19 Burnout Scale, and Single-Item Burnout Measure, respectively. Nurses received high levels of social support, while their resilience was moderate. Additionally, nurses experienced moderate levels of COVID-19 burnout and job burnout. Increased social support and increased resilience were associated with reduced COVID-19 pandemic burnout. We found a negative relationship between social support and job burnout. A similar negative relationship was found between resilience and job burnout. Social support and resilience can act as protective factors against COVID-19 pandemic burnout and job burnout among nurses. Policy makers should develop and implement appropriate strategies to improve nurses' social support and resilience since they are the backbone of healthcare systems worldwide.

Abstract A 17-year-old female patient was admitted to the psychoneurological department of Kyiv Clinical Railway Hospital No. 1, due to deterioration of her mental state, a significant decrease in body weight, and no effect of outpatient treatment. The complex treatment program, directed on the correction of all multidimensional disorders with the preliminary psychodiagnostics examination of the patient and her parents according to the FACES-III, DERS, which were monitored in dynamics during the 3,6,9 and 12 months of treatment, was applied. The patient's parents were additionally assessed by TAS, HADS, and the CQLS. We noted that the functioning of the family as a whole influenced the emotional regulation of each of its members; in turn, the emotional regulation of the parents had a direct influence on the patient's emotional regulation, and the patient's emotional regulation influenced changes body weight. The patient's personal psychotherapy and ABFT allowed us to decrease the gap in the attachment relationship between parents and patient and create a safe emotional base for reducing the stress of the relationship with parents at home, which was confirmed by positive dynamics of FACES-III, decrease in difficulties of emotional regulation on DERS and restoration of the patient's normal weight.

Abstract Although recent studies suggest a negative relationship between organizational support and turnover intention among nurses, there has been no systematic review on this issue. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to synthesize and evaluate the association between organizational support and turnover intention in nurses. The review protocol was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42023447109). A total of eight studies with 5754 nurses were included. All studies were cross-sectional and were conducted after 2010. Quality was moderate in five studies and good in three studies. We found a moderate negative correlation between organizational support and turnover intention since the pooled correlation coefficient was -0.32 (95% confidence interval: -0.42 to -0.21). All studies found a negative correlation between organizational support and turnover intention ranging from -0.10 to -0.51. A leave-one-out sensitivity analysis showed that our results were stable when each study was excluded. Egger's test and funnel plot suggested the absence of publication bias in the eight studies. Subgroup analysis showed that the negative correlation between organizational support and turnover intention was stronger in studies in China and Australia than those in Europe. Organizational support has a moderate negative correlation with turnover intention in nurses. However, data regarding the impact of organizational support on turnover intention are limited. Moreover, our study had several limitations, and thus, we cannot generalize our results. Therefore, further studies should be conducted to assess the independent effect of organizational support on turnover intention in a more valid way. In any case, nursing managers should draw attention to organizational support by developing effective clinical practice guidelines for nurses so as to reduce turnover intention.

Abstract Introduction: Burnout can create problems in every aspect of individual's' human life. It may have an adverse effect on interpersonal and family relations and can lead to a general negative attitude towards life.
Aim: The purpose of this study is to investigate whether burnout is associated with the mental health status of health care providers.
Material and methods: The sample in this study consisted of 240 health care employees. The Greek version of Maslach's Burnout Inventory (MBI) was used for measuring burnout levels and the Greek version of the Symptoms Rating Scale for Depression and Anxiety (SRSDA) questionnaire was used to evaluate health care providers' mental health status. Descriptive statistics were initially generated for sample characteristics. Normality was checked by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and data was processed with parametric tests. General linear models with MBI dimensions as independent variables and SRSDA subscales as dependent variables were used to determine the relation between burnout and mental health status. Statistics were processed with SPSS v. 17.0 (SPSS, Chicago, IL, USA). Statistical significance was set at p=0.05.
Results: The average age of the sample is 40.00±7.95 years. Regarding gender the percentage of men is 21.40% (N=49) and of women is 78.60% (N=180). Overall the professional burnout of health care workers is moderate. The mean score for emotional exhaustion is 26.41, for personal accomplishment 36.70 and for depersonalization 9.81. The mean for each subscale of SRSDA is 8.23±6.79 for Depression Beck-21, 3.96±4.26 for Depression Beck-13, 4.91±4.44 for Melancholia, 6.32±4.35 for Asthenia and 6.36±4.72 for Anxiety. The results of general linear models with the MBI dimensions as independent variables and the SRSDA subscales as dependent variables are shown that emotional exhaustion and personal accomplishment are statistically correlated with all subscales of SRSDA, while depersonalization is not correlated with any SRSDA subscale.
Conclusions: Burnout appears to implicate mental health status of healthcare providers in work index. Emotional exhaustion is the burnout dimension that is correlated the most with employees' mental health.

Abstract Objective: Aim: To study and record the level of empathy and self-compassion of the medical and nursing staff of a general hospital in North Greece, and to investigate their connection to depression levels..
Patients and methods: Materials and Methods: The study sample consists of 88 people (66 women and 22 men), medical and nursing staff of the General Hospital of Kavala (northern Greece) who filled out a questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 4 parts: 1) socio-demographic data; 2) the Toronto Empathy Questionnaire (TEQ); 3) Self- Compassion Scale (SCS), and 4) the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). For the statistical processing of the data, SPSS v.25 software was used.
Results: Results: The mean total value for TEQ indicates moderate high level of empathy (M = 40.5). For self-compassion the mean total value for SCS was moderate (M = 82.6) and the BDI shows a low level of depression (M = 28.7). A high level of empathy corresponds to a high level of self-compassion (ρ(88) = 0.263, p = 0013). Older ages correspond to a lower level of depression (ρ(88) = -0.218, p = .042).
Conclusion: Conclusions: Empathy is a key factor for the creation of the therapeutic relationship between the patient and the healthcare provider, while increasing the level of the health provider's self-compassion. Increased levels of self-compassion and older age among providers may correspond to lower levels of depression.

Abstract Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive and debilitating respiratory disorder. Nurses play a major role in managing the disease. This study aimed to test the effect of a brief online intervention in increasing the knowledge of COPD in a sample of nursing students in Greece.
Materials and methods: The intervention entailed a combination of two ½ hour lectures focusing on the treatment and care of patients with COPD according to existing guidelines. Data were collected with a structured questionnaire specially designed for this study including questions regarding information on sociodemographic characteristics of the participants, and the Bristol COPD Knowledge Questionnaire (BCKQ) which is designed to assess the knowledge of 13 COPD-specific topics. The questionnaire was distributed three times and the one-way ANOVA test of repeated measures was applied to investigate the effect of the educational intervention by examining the periods before, immediately after, and one month after the intervention.
Results: 125 nursing students participated in this study of which 13.6% were men (n=17) and 86.4% were women. According to the results of the repeated measures ANOVA test, there was a statistically significant improvement in gained knowledge about COPD.
Conclusions: Short educational interventions can be effective in acquiring and cultivating nursing students concerning COPD. These short online tutorials seem to be cost-effective as they can be organized easily and with minimal financial resources.

Abstract Workplace bullying is common among nurses and negatively affects several work-related variables, such as job burnout and job satisfaction. However, no study until now has examined the impact of workplace bullying on quiet quitting among nurses. Thus, our aim was to examine the direct effect of workplace bullying on quiet quitting and to investigate the mediating effect of coping strategies on the relationship between workplace bullying and quiet quitting in nurses. We conducted a cross-sectional study with a convenience sample of 650 nurses in Greece. We collected our data in February 2024. We used the Negative Acts Questionnaire-Revised, the Quiet Quitting Scale, and the Brief COPE to measure workplace bullying, quiet quitting, and coping strategies, respectively. We found that workplace bullying and negative coping strategies were positive predictors of quiet quitting, while positive coping strategies were negative predictors of quiet quitting. Our mediation analysis showed that positive and negative coping strategies partially mediated the relationship between workplace bullying and quiet quitting. In particular, positive coping strategies caused competitive mediation, while negative coping strategies caused complimentary mediation. Nurses' managers and policy makers should improve working conditions by reducing workplace bullying and strengthening positive coping strategies among nurses.

Abstract Objective: Aim: To identify the necessary competencies that future professionals must obtain in order to effectively manage patients with chronic conditions. We employed a multilayer review in PubMed, Scopus and Cochrane.
Patients and methods: Materials and Methods: We applied three searches in PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane using various terms in order to identify the necessary skills and competences needed for healthcare professionals to provide distance care in patients with chronic conditions. From the initial search, a total of 1008 studies were identified while 54 met the inclusion criteria and were retained for data extraction. After the review of the 54 studies, we grouped the proposed skills and competencies in eight major categories. Those groups were Clinical Knowledge, Critical Thinking Skills, Technological Skills, Clinical skills, Communication skills, Implementation skills, Professionalism and professional ethics, Evidence based Practice.
Conclusion: Conclusions: Although telehealth is gaining ground in healthcare practice and healthcare professionals possess the necessary knowledge and skills to provide safe, effective, and personalized care, additional specialized training is nevertheless required to provide telecare. Therefore, the integration of telehealth into various healthcare professions curricula - both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels - is required for the development of education and the dynamic development of healthcare.
