Title translation Copeman nodules, a frequent but little known cause of low back pain; case report.
Abstract Copeman nodules or episacral lipomas are a very prevalent entity in the general population. They consist of subfascial fat herniations at the episacral region, through weakened areas of the overlying thoracodorsal fascia. They are usually bilateral and symmetric. Only in rare cases they are the cause of clinical manifestations. We present the case of a 63-year-old woman who presents with lumbar pain refractory to conventional treatments. Ultrasound examination suggests the diagnosis of Copeman nodules. The treatment of the patient is approached from a multidisciplinary perspective, finally deciding to operate the patient. After the intervention, the symptoms remitted shortly, allowing the patient to continue a normal life without discomfort or analgesic treatment.

Abstract Isolated injury to the axillary nerve associated with the patient's surgical position is a very rare complication, and in most cases it is associated with the prone during spinal surgery. The presentation of this pathology in relation to surgeries of another nature is exceptional, with only a few cases in the scientific literature. We present the case of a patient who developed symptoms of isolated left axillary nerve palsy after undergoing lipoabdominoplasty and breast reduction, in which the prone and supine positions were alternated. The use of an infiltration solution with lidocaine and epinephrine could have contributed to the appearance of the lesion in this unique case. Finally, the clinical picture was fully resolved thanks to conservative treatment.

Abstract Quinoline Yellow (QY, Colour Index No. 47005) is internationally used as a colour additive in foods, drugs, and cosmetics. The manufacture of QY requires sulphonating quinophthalone, and depending on the degree of sulphonation, various forms of QY result, containing different proportions of quinophthalone mono-, di-, and trisulfonic acid sodium salts (monoSA, diSA, and triSA, respectively). Regulations on the specific composition and uses of QY differ across countries with associated differences in names for QY. The QY form certified for use in the U.S. in drugs and cosmetics is known as D&C Yellow No. 10 (Y10). The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) specifies that Y10 and its lakes consist of predominantly monoSA's, the sum of whose levels is ≥ 75%, and that the sum level of diSA's is ≤ 15%, with one of them (6'8'diSA) at ≤ 3%. The present work reports the development of an HPLC method for determining those CFR-specified values and the level of a non-CFR-specified component, 6'8'5triSA. The selected analytes, 6'SA, 6'5diSA, 6'8'diSA, and 6'8'5triSA, were quantified by using five-point-calibration curves (R

Abstract The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is giving rise to a wide range of clinical manifestations, which can affect all organs and systems. Due to the enormous and constantly growing number of infected people, even the rarest complications will be observed in a very high number of patients. Late periprosthetic seroma of the breast has gained importance since the description of Breast Implant Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL), but this entity is not the  only cause. Among the causes of non-BIA-ALCL late seroma, we can include those of mechanical origin and those of non-mechanical origin. Within the latter, the common denominator is the triggering of an aberrant immune reaction that generates an inflammatory exudate from the periprosthetic capsule that gives rise to the seroma. We present two cases of late breast seroma as a manifestation of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Level of evidence: Level V, diagnostic study.

Title translation Nail trauma, what is it? and how to treat it?
Abstract The nail plate is a layer of keratin that protects the back of the ends of the fingers and toes. It is a system with many important functions, since it stabilises the distal portion of the finger and toe and provides resistance to the fleshy part, thus contributing to the handling of small objects and fine sense of touch. Nail injuries are a reason for visits to Emergency Departments and Primary Care, representing up to 8% of hand emergencies. The inappropriate treatment of these injuries can lead to important aesthetic and functional sequelae. These can be very complex even to correct later (dystrophic nails, decrease in discrimination between 2 points…). The 2 most common lesions are subungual haematoma and subungual avulsion, with their different degrees of adjacent bone involvement.

Abstract Pigment Red 57 (Colour Index No. 15850, PR57) and Pigment Red 57:1 (Colour Index No. 15850:1, PR57:1) are certifiable in the USA as the color additives D&C Red No. 6 (R6) and D&C Red No. 7 (R7) for use in drugs and cosmetics. In the EU, PR57:1 is permitted in cosmetics and also as a food additive (E180) for colouring edible cheese rinds. The USFDA batch-certifies R6, R7, and their lakes in accordance with limiting specifications for impurities stated in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). In the current work, an impurity not specified in the CFR was studied because of its consistent presence in samples of R6 and R7 submitted for certification. Using spectroscopic methods, the impurity was tentatively identified as 4-[(4-methyl-2-sulfophenyl)azo]-3-naphthalenol (DPR57), the decarboxylated analogue of PR57 and PR57:1. Its identity was confirmed by synthesising DPR57 and determining that the UHPLC retention time, UV/visible spectrum and mass spectrum of the synthetic material were identical to those of the impurity. Using the synthesised DPR57 as a reference material, the impurity was quantified in 43 batches of R6, R7, and lakes produced by eight different manufacturers. Calibration curves ranging from 0.02% to 1.00% (w/w) were prepared by plotting the UHPLC area of DPR57 at 485 nm against its concentration. DPR57 levels ranged from < 0.02% to 0.50%. To facilitate dissolution of the color additive samples for DPR57 analysis, a relatively simple procedure was developed by adapting a previously published method that involves use of a basic solution of the chelating agent EDTA and the organic solvent N,N'-dimethylformamide. A source for DPR57 contamination of the color additives is also proposed.

Abstract 42-year-old man with pain in the posterolateral region of the right knee that began while he was running. Initially, it was diagnosed by magnetic resonance (MR) as a possible aggressive process (osteosarcoma or Ewing's sarcoma) but with computed tomography it was noted a cortical hypodense linear longitudinal image with a continuous, homogeneous and solid periosteal reaction without clear soft tissue mass that in this patient suggest a longitudinal distal femoral fatigue stress fracture. This type of fracture at this location is very rare. Stress fractures are entities that can be confused with an agressive process. MR iscurrently the most sensitive and specific imaging method for its diagnosis.
