Abstract Carotid webs are important, often undiagnosed causes of cryptogenic and recurrent strokes. CT angiography and digital subtraction angiography adequately demonstrate webs as linear filling defects in the carotid bulb. However, findings are overlooked unless viewed in optimal planes and easily misdiagnosed as dissection flaps or atheromatous plaques, altering management and outcome. A case of unilateral carotid web is presented, detected during imaging in a young lady presenting with hemiparesis without other risk factors for stroke.

Abstract Foreign body ingestion though a common occurrence, rarely leads to bowel perforation. Thus, foreign body migration presents a diagnostic challenge. The author presents a case report of a 75-year-old female with a inflammatory subcutaneous pseudotumour due to migrating foreign body through a concealed colonic perforation. The patient presented with insidious abdominal pain and fever since two months, with local tenderness and palpable lumbar in right lumbar region on examination. The diagnosis was initially made on ultrasound and confirmed on Computed Tomography (CT). Surgical removal of the foreign body was done.

Abstract Fetus in fetu is a rare congenital anomaly with fewer than 200 cases reported worldwide. It is a part of spectrum of anomalous embryogenesis. We report a case of an 18-month old boy with abdominal distension. Ultrasonography, X-ray, and computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a retroperitoneal mass suggestive of fetus in fetu. with evidence of organogenesis and a vertebral column, which differentiates it from an organized teratoma. The mass was resected in toto.

Abstract Moyamoya Syndrome (MMS) is a progressive disease with typical angiographic ‘moyamoya’ alterations. Here, the authors discuss a case of 16-year-old male patient who developed MMS after being diagnosed with β-thalassaemia major. This patient was detected with heterozygous mutations in the β-globin gene and underwent splenectomy at the age of 12 years. Four years postsplenectomy he presented with paresis of the right upper limb. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) showed infarction and stenosis of the internal carotid artery with the collateral vessel’s formation. Recurrence of stroke and progression of the vasculopathy were seen. Till now, only a few cases of MMS have been linked to thalassaemia major.

Abstract Background and objectives: Prostate diseases, with an overall incidence of 9%, are the leading cause affecting millions of males worldwide, with prostate cancer being the primary cause of death in males and benign prostatic hypertrophy being the primary cause of morbidity in the older age group. In light of this, we aimed to evaluate the utility of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in evaluating and characterising prostatic pathologies and grading prostatic cancer using PIRADS v2. Methods: This was a study carried out on 50 patients with the age group ranging from 50 to 90 years with clinical suspicion or ultrasonographically demonstrable prostatic pathology and correlation of multiparametric MRI findings on various sequences with clinical features and histopathological findings and classification into groups of benign and malignant prostatic lesions and according to the PIRADS v2 scoring. Results: Out of our study group, 4 cases were diagnosed with prostatitis and prostatic abscess, and 46 cases were categorized into PI-RADS, out of which most cases were classified into PI-RADS category V, followed by PI-RADS II and III. These were then evaluated with MR spectroscopy, of which 30 cases showed choline peak, and 16 cases showed citrate peak. The sensitivity and specificity for multiparametric MRI sequences combination detect prostate carcinoma was calculated, and the Positive Predictive Value (PPV) & Negative Predictive Value (NPV) was found as 76% and 92%, respectively. Conclusion: Based on our findings, we found out that the multiparametric MRI approach gives a wealth of practical information that has dramatically enhanced the detection and characterization of prostatic lesions. We also found that morphological and functional sequencing improves the sensitivity and specificity of the lesions' identification and characterization.
