Abstract Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes have ample advantages compared to traditional manufacturing processes, including mass customization, material efficiency, bioprinting, and fabrication of complex geometries with reduced lead time. Despite such benefits, it suffers most from staircase effects that deteriorate the fabricated part's surface quality. Nowadays, additively manufactured aligners are suitable for treating malocclusion and temporomandibular defects of teeth. Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) is one of the best substitutes for clear aligners production to reduce per-unit cost. Glycol-modified Polyethylene Terephthalate (PETG) is opted as the material to fabricate the clear aligners due to its biocompatibility and non-toxicity. However, the poor surface quality of the additively manufactured is a major challenge in developing clear aligners with the FDM. A novel experimental setup is designed and developed to enable Chemical Vapor Smoothing (CVS) to enhance the surface quality of the clear aligners. Furthermore, based on the Surface roughness, the comparison is made between the surface quality polished with various chemicals (namely methylethylketone (also known as 2-butanone), toluene and, cyclohexanone). Moreover, Response Surface Methodology (RSM) is used to analyze the impact of different process parameters (i.e., the chemical volume, exposure time, and workpiece orientation) on the surface quality of the clear aligners. Moreover, RSM shows that the impact of the clear aligners orientation on %ΔR

Abstract In this work, parameter sensitivity analysis for Discrete Element Method(DEM) simulation is carried out for bladed centrifugal spreader dispersing metallic powder with fixed rotational speed. A common Hertz-Mindlin(HM) no-slip theory is used for modeling particle contact. Furthermore, spherical particles are used to approximate the particle shape. The Coefficient of Static Friction (COSF), Coefficient of Rolling Friction (CORF), and Coefficient of Restitution (COR) are taken as the input parameters, whereas the spatial and temporal distribution of powder particles is taken as the response. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) is implemented to determine the independent factors and factor interactions that significantly influence the selected response. For the case of spatial particle distribution, COSF was found to be dominant over other considered factors. The temporal distribution of powder particles showed strong dependence on COSF and CORF along with their interaction with COR. Given the dominant effect of COSF, this study details a cost-effective, indigenously developed experimental setup that evaluates COSF values for a given material pair.

Abstract Sexed semen facilitates additional female calf production for the expansion of a herd at a faster rate and also curtails the surplus production of unwanted male calves. A study was conducted to evaluate the performance of sexed semen in indigenous Tharparkar cows based on 114 artificial inseminations (AI) performed at natural oestrus using two protocols i.e., single AI (n = 48) and double AI (n = 66). Overall, the first service conception rate (CR) was significantly higher in double (53.0%) than single (33.3%) AI protocol. The odds ratio of conception rate in double AI was 2.26 (χ
