Abstract Targeting actionable mutations in oncogene-driven cancers and the evolution of immuno-oncology are the two prominent revolutions that have influenced cancer treatment paradigms and caused the emergence of precision oncology. However, intertumoral and intratumoral heterogeneity are the main challenges in both fields of precision cancer treatment. In other words, finding a universal marker or pathway in patients suffering from a particular type of cancer is challenging. Therefore, targeting a single hallmark or pathway with a single targeted therapeutic will not be efficient for fighting against tumor heterogeneity. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) possess favorable characteristics for cellular therapy, including their hypoimmune nature, inherent tumor-tropism property, straightforward isolation, and multilineage differentiation potential. MSCs can be loaded with various chemotherapeutics and oncolytic viruses. The combination of these intrinsic features with the possibility of genetic manipulation makes them a versatile tumor delivery vehicle that can be used for in vivo selective tumor delivery of various chemotherapeutic and biological therapeutics. MSCs can be used as biofactory for the local production of chemical or biological anticancer agents at the tumor site. MSC-mediated immunotherapy could facilitate the sustained release of immunotherapeutic agents specifically at the tumor site, and allow for the achievement of therapeutic concentrations without the need for repetitive systemic administration of high therapeutic doses. Despite the enthusiasm evoked by preclinical studies that used MSC in various cancer therapy approaches, the translation of MSCs into clinical applications has faced serious challenges. This manuscript, with a critical viewpoint, reviewed the preclinical and clinical studies that have evaluated MSCs as a selective tumor delivery tool in various cancer therapy approaches, including gene therapy, immunotherapy, and chemotherapy. Then, the novel nanotechnology and bioengineering approaches that can improve the potency of MSC for tumor targeting and overcoming challenges related to their low localization at the tumor sites are discussed.

Abstract Conceptual rainfall-runoff models have been used extensively to simulate streamflow in urban catchments. However, spatiotemporal changes in the impervious surface area, as an important land use indicator for urban environment, has not been used explicitly as input into conceptual rainfall-runoff models. In this study, spatiotemporal impervious surface fraction (ISF) data were incorporated into two lumped and distributed (1 km) models, namely SIMHYD and AWBM in an urbanized catchment in southeast Queensland, Australia. A sub-pixel classification technique was used to derive ISF from 6 LandSat images between 1988 and 2015. Daily rainfall-runoff models were calibrated with ISF as an input variable. To evaluate model performance for different simulation periods, four model runs including M1 (lumped models with constant ISF), M2 (lumped models with temporally varying ISF), M3 (distributed models with fixed spatial ISF) and M4 (distributed models with spatiotemporal ISF and climate data). Results showed that (1) the sub-pixel classification algorithm can be used to accurately derive ISF data with a mean absolute error (MAE) ranging from 0.07 to 0.12 for 6 images, (2) ISF in the catchment has increased gradually from 12.2% to 34.6% from 1988 to 2015, (3) the performance of SIMHYD and AWBM were not improved noticeably when distributed climate and ISF data were used, (4) simulation capability of lumped and distributed SIMHYD and AWBM were improved (e.g., increase in NSE from 0.68 to 0.73, and decrease in PBIAS from −30.2% to 1.2% for lumped SIMHYD) when temporal (M2) and/or spatiotemporal (M4) ISF data (5-year) were used, (5) difference in model performance is small and insignificantly whether annual or 5-yearly ISF data were used and (6) annual streamflow would increase by 6.9–7.3 mm (equal to 2.9–3%) in response to every 1% increase in ISF for the catchment tested. The methodology developed in this study can be applied for assessment of the effect of urbanisation on regional water balance.

Abstract Background and aims: One of the most common mental disorders among children and adolescent is depression. Some of the conducted studies indicate a too-high prevalence of depression, which cannot be generalized to the entire country. So the pooled estimation of the results of different studies is very important to reach valid results. So the current study aimed to determine the prevalence of depression among Iranian children and adolescents using an updated systematic review and meta-analysis.
Methods: A random-effects model was used to estimate the pooled prevalence of depression (
Results: The prevalence of depression was 33.3% (95% CI: 27.3-39.2). The most prevalence estimated using the Beak questionnaire (57.1% [95% CI: 50.2-64.0]) and the lowest was estimated using the K-SADS-PL (9.0% [95% CI: 4.0-13.6]). This estimate among females was more than among males (47.2% [95% CI: 35.4-58.9] vs. 30.5 [95% CI: 7.4-53.6]). Regarding the geographical region, the most and the lowest amount of depression was seen in the central with 41.7% (95% CI: 19.2-64.3) and southern region with 21.9% (95% CI: 14.2-29.6), respectively.
Conclusion: The high prevalence of depressive disorders in Iranian children emphasizes the importance of prevention measures for these disorders.

Abstract Objective: For fractional flow reserve measurement, contrast media can be used as an alterna- tive for adenosine. However, contrast media with different physical characteristics (e.g., osmo- lality and viscosity) may have different effects on hyperemia. This study aimed to determine if the diagnostic accuracy of contrast fractional flow reserve was influenced by 2 commonly used contrast media (Visipaque and Ultravist).
Methods: In this diagnostic study, candidates for coronary angiography with intermediate cor- onary lesion were enrolled and randomized to receive either an iso-osmolar contrast media (Visipaque) or a low osmolar contrast media (Ultravist) for fractional flow reserve measure- ment. The gold standard was fractional flow reserve measured by adenosine fractional flow reserve. Then cFFR and adenosine fractional flow reserve were compared between the groups, and the diagnostic values of both contrasts were calculated. Finally, the cut-point for diagnos- ing adenosine fractional flow reserve ≤ 0.8 was calculated for cFFR in both groups.
Results: In this study, 46 patients were studied (24 patients received Ultravist and 22 patients received Visipaque). There was no significant difference between the groups in adenosine frac- tional flow reserve. Also, the mean cFFR was not different from the mean adenosine fractional flow reserve in both groups. There was a strong correlation between cFFR and adenosine frac- tional flow reserve for each of the contrasts (r = 0.937 for Ultravist and r = 0.927 for Visipaque). Both contrasts had high specificity to diagnose fractional flow reserve ≤ 0.8 (specificity = 1), and the sensitivities of cFFR for Ultravist and Visipaque were 83.3% and 94.7%. The cut-point to predict adenosine fractional flow reserve ≤ 0.80 was 0.845 for Ultravist and 0.835 for Visipaque.
Conclusions: Both iso-osmolar or low osmolar contrast media have an acceptable diagnostic accuracy in measuring cFFR.

Abstract Assessing the impacts of climate change and land-use change is of critical importance, particularly for urbanized catchments. In this study, a novel framework was used to examine and quantify these impacts on the runoff in six catchments in Southeast Queensland, Australia. For each catchment, temporal variations in impervious areas were derived from six satellite images using a sub-pixel classification technique and incorporated into the SIMHYD hydrological model. This model was satisfactorily calibrated and validated with daily runoff observations (0.63 ≤ Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient ≤ 0.94, percent bias ≤ ±18 %) and was used to produce baseline runoff for 1986-2005 in these six catchments. The projected population increase was used to predict future imperviousness based on the linear relationship between the two. The projected rainfall and evapotranspiration were derived from the ensemble means of the eight general circulation models. Catchment runoff was projected under two climate change scenarios (RCP4.5 and 8.5), three urbanization scenarios (low, medium, and high), and six combined scenarios for two future periods (2026-2045 and 2046-2065). Comparing with the baseline, it was found that (1) climate change alone would lead to a -3.8 % to -17.6 % reduction in runoff among the six catchments, for all scenarios and both future periods; (2) a 11.8 % to 78 % increase in runoff was projected under the three urbanization scenarios, and (3) a decrease in runoff due to climate change would moderate the increase in runoff caused by urbanization. For example, the combined effect would be a 54 % increase in runoff, with a -17.2 % decrease due to climate change and 78 % increase due to urbanization. Overall, runoff in the six catchments may be significantly affected by urban expansion. From this study, decision makers could gain a better understanding of the relative importance of the effects of climate and land-use change, which can be applied when developing future long-term water management plans at the catchment scale.

Abstract In this study, a novel and facile route for the synthesis of cyclodextrin-conjugated graphene oxide (CDs–GO) nanocomposites by esterification reaction in the presence of EDC/DMAP as catalyst, was developed. The formation of CDs–GO was successfully approved by FT-IR, SEM, TEM, TGA and BET analyses. Then competitive adsorption capacity of cadmium ion by CDs–GO composites and the impact of different empirical parameters like contact time, initial metal ion concentration, and initial pH on the adsorption process were studied. The results showed that β-CD–GO at pH 7 is suitable for removing Cd(II) with 90 % removal efficiency. Also, the adsorption capacity experiment at constant concentration of 50 ppm of Cd(II) showed that more than 50 % of Cd(II) ions could be adsorbed by γ-CD–GO reaching an equilibrium within 2 h. Therefore, the γ-CD–GO and α-CD–GO showed high adsorption capacity toward Cd²⁺ (222.22 mg/g) which were pointedly more than that of β-CD–GO (208.33 mg/g). Furthermore, adsorption kinetics, isotherm studies, and thermodynamic analyses were evaluated. The adsorption data exhibited excellent fit to the pseudo-second-order (R² > 0.99) and Freundlich isotherm models.
