Abstract This paper aims to propose a table tennis target detection (TD) method based on deep learning (DL) and multi-scale feature fusion (MFF) to improve the detection accuracy of the ball in table tennis competition, optimize the training process of athletes, and improve the technical level. In this paper, DL technology is used to improve the accuracy of table tennis TD through MFF guidance. Initially, based on the FAST Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (FAST R-CNN), the TD is carried out in the table tennis match. Then, through the method of MFF guidance, different levels of feature information are fused, which improves the accuracy of TD. Through the experimental verification on the test set, it is found that the mean Average Precision (mAP) value of the target detection algorithm (TDA) proposed here reaches 87.3%, which is obviously superior to other TDAs and has higher robustness. The DL TDA combined with the proposed MFF can be applied to various detection fields and can help the application of TD in real life.

Abstract This paper analyzes the limitations of the current public management performance evaluation system, puts forward a public management performance evaluation model based on fuzzy clustering, and expounds on the theoretical framework and principle of this method. In addition, this paper introduces the concept and method of public management performance evaluation into the evaluation content system of government under the rule of law and realizes the combination of government under the rule of law theory and public management performance evaluation methodology. At the same time, through the analysis of the organizational system, technical system, institutional mechanism, result orientation, public satisfaction, and related index content, a public management performance evaluation index system is designed. Through macro and micro, qualitative and quantitative analysis and evaluation, the performance evaluation index system is improved, which provides an objective basis for forecasting and decision-making, control, and adjustment. The research shows that the highest accuracy of this clustering method can reach about 96%, and its accuracy is about 10% higher than that of the ID3 algorithm. It is expected that this research can make some contributions to the research of the public management performance evaluation index system. At the same time, it highlights the importance of research on performance evaluation of government ruled by law.

Abstract Abstract The winter upper troposphere/lower stratosphere temperature/vertical motion response over the extratropical North Pacific induced by North Atlantic changes is not well understood. Here, using robust diagnostic calculations conducted in a fully coupled high-resolution climate model, we correct the North Atlantic ocean circulation biases and show that during wintertime, the North Atlantic cold surface temperature biases lead to a warmer upper troposphere/lower stratosphere over the extratropical North Pacific. In the upper troposphere/lower stratosphere over the extratropical North Pacific, this winter warming temperature response is linked to the vertical motion response through a simple leading order thermodynamic relationship between changes in the horizontal advection and adiabatic heating. The upper troposphere/lower stratosphere vertical motion response, which is also associated with the North Atlantic induced Walker circulation response over the tropical North Pacific, can provide a rough estimation of the upper troposphere/lower stratosphere warming response over the extratropical North Pacific.

Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of minocycline preadministration on cognitive dysfunction, hippocampal inflammatory response, and hippocampal senile dementia-related proteins induced by propofol anesthesia in aged rats. Sixty male SD rats, aged 20 months and weighing 340-410 g, were randomly divided into three groups: normal saline (NC) group, propofol group (prop), and minocycline (M) group. Prop group rats were injected intraperitoneally with 100 mg/kg propofol. The rats in group M were injected intraperitoneally with 50 mg/kg minocycline 30 minutes before injection of 100 mg/kg propofol, and the rest were the same as prop group. The rats in NC group were received intraperitoneal injection of the same amount of normal saline. The results indicated that compared with group C, the expressions of GSK-3β, acetyl-NF-κB (Lys310), Tau, and Amlyoid-beta were upregulated, the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 were increased, the escape incubation period was prolonged, and the exploration time was shortened in prop group, while the expression of GSK-3β, acetyl-NF-κB (Lys310), Tau, and Amlyoid-beta in minocycline group was downregulated, the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 were decreased, the escape incubation period was shortened, and the exploration time was shortened. In conclusion, preadministration of minocycline can improve cognitive impairment induced by propofol anesthesia in aged rats, and its mechanism of action may be related to minocycline inhibiting hippocampal inflammatory reaction and downregulating the expression of GSK-3β, acetyl-NF-κB (Lys310), Tau, and Amlyoid-beta proteins in hippocampus.

Abstract The Graphene field effect transistor (GFET) has become one of the most popular biochemical-sensing platforms. The sensitivity of traditional GFET sensor usually depends on functionalization of aptamers. Here, we reported a machine learning algorithms assisted heavy metal ions detecting method by using pristine GFET. In this work, GFETs are prepared by screen printing technology, which has the advantages of total solution processes and low costs. The graphene ink (G-ink) used in screen printing procedures of GFET is synthesized by combining liquid exfoliation with solvent exchange method. The FTIR and XPS show there are oxygen-containing groups on the graphene channel, which have different affinities for heavy metal ions and can be used to determine ions. Seven algorithms are used to establish and train prediction models by using the data of transfer curves as inputs and ions’ types and concentrations as labels, the results indicate that the accuracy of AdaBoost (0.91) is the highest, which demonstrate this machine learning assisted GFET sensing platform can be used to determine metal ions’ types and concentrations at the same time. Moreover, the complicated processes for bio-functionalizing GFET and data analysis are omitted, which is benefit to simplify the fabricating procedures, we believe it will be an attractive strategy to promote the development of GFET.

Abstract The Keap1-Nrf2 signaling pathway plays a crucial role in cellular defense against oxidative stress-induced damage. Its activation entails the expression and transcriptional regulation of several proteins involved in detoxification and antioxidation processes within the organism. Keap1, serving as a pivotal transcriptional regulator within this pathway, exerts control over the activity of Nrf2. Various post-translational modifications (PTMs) of Keap1, such as alkylation, glycosylation, glutathiylation, S-sulfhydration, and other modifications, impact the binding affinity between Keap1 and Nrf2. Consequently, this leads to the accumulation of Nrf2 and its translocation to the nucleus, and subsequent activation of downstream antioxidant genes. Given the association between the Keap1-Nrf2 signaling pathway and various diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and diabetes, comprehending the post-translational modification of Keap1 not only deepens our understanding of Nrf2 signaling regulation but also contributes to the identification of novel drug targets and biomarkers. Consequently, this knowledge holds immense importance in the prevention and treatment of diseases induced by oxidative stress.

Abstract ABSTRACT Mulching is an important agricultural management tool for increasing watermelon productivity and land-use efficiency because it helps improve water use efficiency and reduce soil erosion. However, there is relatively little available information regarding the effects of long-term continuous monoculture farming on soil fungal communities and related fungal pathogens in arid and semiarid regions. In this study, we characterized the fungal communities of four treatment groups, including gravel-sand-mulched farmland, gravel-sand-mulched grassland, fallow gravel-sand-mulched grassland, and native grassland, using amplicon sequencing. Our results revealed that the soil fungal communities differed significantly between mulched farmland and mulched grassland as well as the fallow mulched grassland. Gravel-sand mulch significantly impaired the diversity and composition of soil fungal communities. Soil fungal communities were more sensitive to gravel-sand mulch in grassland than in other habitats. Long-term continuous monoculture (more than 10 years) led to decreased abundance of Fusarium species, which contains include agronomically important plant pathogens. In the gravel-mulched cropland, some Penicillium and Mortierella fungi were significantly enriched with increasing mulch duration, suggesting potential beneficial properties of those fungi that could be applied to disease control. We also found that long-term gravel mulching in continuous monoculture farming could potentially form disease-suppressive soils and alter soil microbial biodiversity and fertility. Our study provides insights into the exploration of novel agricultural management strategies along with continuous monoculture practice to control watermelon wilt disease by maintaining a more sustainable and healthier soil environment. IMPORTANCE Gravel-sand mulching is a traditional agricultural practice in arid and semiarid regions, providing a surface barrier for soil and water conservation. However, application of such practice in monocropping ...

Abstract Mangroves as an important blue carbon ecosystem have a unique ability to sequester and store large amounts of carbon. The height of mangrove forest is considered to be a critical factor in evaluating carbon sink capacity. However, considering the highly complicated nature of the mangrove system, accurate estimation of mangrove species height is challenging. Gaofen-2 (GF-2) panchromatic and multispectral sensor (PMS), Gaofen-3 (GF-3) SAR images, and unmanned aerial vehicle-light detection and ranging (UAV-LiDAR) data have the capability to capture detailed information about both the horizontal and vertical structures of mangrove forests, which offer a cost-effective and reliable approach to predict mangrove species height. To accurately estimate mangrove species height, this study obtained a variety of characteristic parameters from GF-2 PMS and GF-3 SAR data and utilized the canopy height model (CHM) derived from UAV-LiDAR data as the observed data of mangrove forest height. Based on these parameters and the random forest (RF) regression algorithm, the mangrove species height result had a root-mean-square error (RMSE) of 0.91 m and an R 2 of 0.71. The Kandelia obovate (KO) exhibited the tallest tree height, reaching a maximum of 9.6 m. The polarization features, HH, VV, and texture feature, mean_1 (calculated based on the mean value of blue band in GF-2 image), had a reasonable correlation with canopy height. Among them, the most significant factor in determining the height of mangrove forest was HH. In areas where it is difficult to conduct field surveys, the results provided an opportunity to update access to acquire forest structural attributes.

Abstract For heterogeneous reservoirs that develop due to water flooding, the increased degree of flooding will cause unbalanced displacement, and there are large areas of residual oil enrichment in the reservoir. In this paper, a genetic coding method for oilfield development plan optimization that considers production constraints is proposed. This method considers the constraints of well location, oil and water well type, the open horizon and its combination, water injection volume, and the liquid production index in the actual oilfield development design. On the basis of genetic algorithms and the individual quality inspection method, a program for regulating and optimizing the overall development index of reservoirs was developed. A comprehensive optimization calculation was carried out for the H block. In the process of executing the algorithm, invalid schemes of 16.6–20.2% were eliminated, crude oil recovery increased by 5.56%, and the water cut decreased by 1.81%. The research results show that, compared with a conventional oil and water well production and development plan for an oilfield, this program can greatly improve efficiency and promote the automatic optimization of the overall development index of the reservoir, which is in line with the actual situation of the oilfield.
