Abstract With the advancement of IoT devices and thanks to the unprecedented visibility and transparency they provide, diverse IoT-based applications are being developed. With the proliferation of IoT, both the amount and type of data items captured have increased dramatically. The data generated by IoT devices reside in different organizations and systems, and a major barrier to utilizing the data is the lack of interoperability among the standards used to capture the data. To reduce this barrier, two major standards have emerged: the Global Standards One (GS1) Electronic Product Code Information Service (EPCIS) and the FIWARE Next Generation Services Interface (NGSI). However, the two standards differ not only in the data encoding but also in the underlying philosophy of representing IoT data; namely, EPCIS is event-based, and NGSI is entity-based. Interoperability between FIWARE and EPCIS is essential for system integration. This paper presents OLIOT Mediation Gateway, now one of the incubated generic enablers offered by the FIWARE Foundation, that realizes the required interoperability between NGSI and EPCIS systems. It also demonstrates the applicability and feasibility of the Gateway by applying it to a real-life case study of integrating transparency systems used in a meat supply chain.

Abstract We report MAS-NMR experiments at temperatures of approx. 1200 K using a CO(2) laser as the heating device. An internal NMR thermometer based on the (7)Li T1 data of Li(0.24)La(0.54)TiO(3) is used for temperature calibration. Using this setup, temperatures as high as 1191 K could be reached under MAS conditions as confirmed by the melting of Li(2)B(4)O(7) at 1191 K which could be followed by (7)Li-MAS-NMR.

Abstract Lithium ionic conductivity and phase transitions in a series of lithium halides hydrates and hydroxides with general formula Li3-n(OHn)X (0.83 < or = n < or = 2; X = Cl,Br) were studied using impedance measurements and 1H and 7Li NMR spectroscopy. All compounds studied in this work crystallize in the antiperovskite structure or are closely related to this structure type. With the exception of LiCl. H2O, all compounds with integer lithium content exhibit good lithium ionic conductivity in their high temperature cubic phases above T = 33 degrees C. Lithium doping of samples LiX.H2O and Li2(OH)X leads to a suppression of the phase transition into the noncubic phases and the good ionic conductivity is extended down to lower temperatures (T < 0 degree C). Thus, lithium doping of the lithium halide hydrates provides a promising tool for tailoring the ionic conductivity at ambient temperatures to its optimum value.

    Abstract We present a (re)investigation of the hexaoxometalates Li(8)MO(6) (M = Sn, Pb, Zr, Hf) and Li(7)MO(6) (M = Nb, Ta, Sb, Bi). Lithium motion and ionic conductivity in the hexaoxometalates were studied using impedance spectroscopy (for Li(7)MO(6), M = Sb, Bi, Ta) and (6)Li and (7)Li solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (for Li(7)TaO(6)). The NMR data indicate a considerable exchange of Li among the tetrahedral and octahedral voids even at ambient temperature. In an investigation of the crystal structures using laboratory and synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction techniques, the structures of Li(7)TaO(6), Li(7)NbO(6), and Li(7)SbO(6) could be solved and refined. All three reveal a triclinic metric (Li(7)SbO(6), triclinic, P1, a = 5.38503(6) A, b = 5.89164(7) A, c = 5.43074(6) A, alpha = 117.2210(6) degrees, beta = 119.6311(6) degrees, gamma = 63.2520(7) degrees, V = 127.454(3) A(3), Z = 1; Li(7)NbO(6), triclinic, P1, a = 5.37932(9) A, b = 5.91942(11) A, c = 5.37922(9) A, alpha = 117.0033(9) degrees, beta = 119.6023(7) degrees, gamma = 63.2570(9) degrees, V = 126.938(4) A(3), Z = 1; Li(7)TaO(6), triclinic, P1, a = 5.38486(2) A, b = 5.92014(3) A, c = 5.38551(2) A, alpha = 117.0108(2) degrees, beta = 119.6132(2) degrees, gamma = 63.2492(2) degrees, V = 127.208(1) A(3), Z = 1.
