Abstract We theoretically study pairing (double-strand complexation) of semiflexible wormlike chains (WLC) due to their side-to-side attraction. Considering binding of two WLCs of high stiffness we start with the case of infinite stiffness of one chain which is replaced with a straight bar. A combination of the quantitative transfer matrix approach with scaling arguments in terms of trains, loops of different sizes, tails and supertrains allowed us to characterize all the regimes of semiflexible chain adsorption on a bar. In particular, we predict a self-similar monomer concentration profile

Abstract Transitions between metastable equilibria in the low-temperature phase of dynamical Ising game with activity spillover are studied in the infinite time limit. It is shown that exponential enhancement due to activity spillover, which takes place in finite-time transitions, is absent in the infinite time limit. In order to demonstrate that, the analytical description for infinite time trajectory is developed. An analytical approach to estimate the probability of transition between metastable equilibria in the infinite time limit is introduced and its results are compared with those of kinetic Monte Carlo simulation. Our study sheds light on the dynamics of the Ising game and has implications for the understanding of transitions between metastable states in complex systems.

Abstract We studied the effect of bacterial wall peptidoglycan of 7 bacterial species on the competitive properties of human-associated microorganisms. Addition of peptidoglycan to the culture medium did not change the growth characteristics of the test cultures; however, an increase in the antagonism and hydrophobicity of Bifidobacterium sp. and Enterococcus sp. was observed, while the effect on enterobacteria was predominantly indifferent or inhibitory. The effect did not depend much on the source of peptidoglycan and was equally manifested on both indigenous and probiotic strains. The observed new property of peptidoglycan indicates its participation in the formation and functioning of microbiota. The obtained data on the regulation of the properties of microorganisms provide new possibilities for the correction and maintenance of host homeostasis through host-associated microbiota.

Abstract The work is devoted to finding effective mechanisms for the implementation of diversification and commercialization in large companies. World practice outlines that big are quite actively use the purchase (mergers and acquisitions) of other companies as a powerful diversification tool. Mergers and acquisitions allow companies - buyers quickly increasing the number of new products and services in their portfolio. This mechanism is used in the military and civilian sectors simultaneously. Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon Corp., Intel, Google, NEC and others are constantly buying third-party companies and sell their own assets. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign experience in this area, it is concluded that, among currently used, the most optimal diversification mechanisms are the purchase of innovative companies, the involvement of external teams in the organization. Also among these mechanisms are buying the specialists with innovative technological competencies, the acquisition (purchase) of external innovative technologies and competences.

Abstract To date, the choice of an enterprise development strategy that ensures the growth of its competitiveness depends on the timely transition to targeted competency management. This work is aimed at researching and developing approaches to managing unique technological competencies (UTC), which can be used by modern corporations of the machine-building complex. Key words: unique technological competencies (UTC), key competencies, competitive strategy, matrix of unique competencies, organic and inorganic competencies.
