    Abstract This paper uses feature subspace learning and cross-media retrieval analysis to construct an advertising design and communication model. To address the problems of the traditional feature subspace learning model and make the samples effectively maintain their local structure and discriminative properties after projection into the feature space, this paper proposes a discriminative feature subspace learning model based on Low-Rank Representation (LRR), which explores the local structure of samples through Low-Rank Representation and uses the representation coefficients as similarity constraints of samples in the projection space so that the projection subspace can better maintain the local nearest-neighbor relationship of samples. Based on the common subspace learning, this paper uses the extreme learning machine method to improve the cross-modal retrieval accuracy, mining deeper data features and maximizing the correlation between different modalities, so that the learned shared subspace is more discriminative; meanwhile, it proposes realizing cross-modal retrieval by the deep convolutional generative adversarial network, using unlabeled samples to further explore the correlation of different modal data and improve the cross-modal performance. The clustering quality of images and audios is corrected in the feature subspace obtained by dimensionality reduction through an optimization algorithm based on similarity transfer. Three active learning strategies are designed to calculate the conditional probability of unannotated samples around user-annotated samples in the correlation feedback process, thus improving the efficiency of cross-media retrieval in the case of limited feedback samples. The experimental results show that the method accurately measures the cross-media relevance and effectively achieves mutual retrieval between image and audio data.     Abstract Since 2008, China has established innovative pilot cities in batches, with green and low-carbon principles and objectives as the core of the NICP policy. Therefore, it is of great significance to accurately evaluate the driving effect of the NICP policy on low-carbon technology innovation, to expand the coverage of pilot cities in a prudent and orderly manner. The research focuses on the economic and environmental potential of the national innovative city pilot (NICP) policy. However, the relationship between the NICP policy and low-carbon technology innovation remains to be examined. This article employs a sample of 274 prefecture-level cities in China spanning the years 2003 to 2020 for research purposes, and uses a series of methods such as time-varying DID and intermediary effect models to examine the impelling impact and intricate workings of the NICP policy on low-carbon technology innovation. The study found that: (i) The NICP policy possesses the potential to impel innovation in low-carbon technology, and the impact of the policy exhibits a fluctuating yet upward trajectory over time. (ii) The NICP policy promotes low-carbon technology innovation through financial technology investment, population aggregation, and digital construction. (iii) The innovation effect of the NICP policy is significantly influenced by resource endowment and the disclosure of environmental information. The impact of the NICP policy on innovation in low-carbon technology is more pronounced in resource-based cities than non-resource-based cities, and it is particularly noteworthy in well-established resource-based cities with abundant resource endowments. The impetus generated by the NICP policy towards the innovation of low-carbon technology is notably more substantial for cities that exhibit elevated levels of environmental information disclosure.     Abstract ABSTRACT Introduction: Due to the fierce confrontation, high intensity, long duration, and high technical and tactical requirements of modern football, this sport puts forward higher requirements on the physical function of the athletes. Objective: To further explore the importance of physical training based on expounding the concepts of physical fitness and physical training. Methods: The article uses literature research, expert interviews, questionnaires, observations, measurements, mathematical statistics, and other research methods to explore the physical characteristics and training of Chinese football players. Results: The physical training of football players should conform to the specific characteristics of football. This sport requires combining technical and tactical training, psychological training, and academic training of football matches, which must be developed simultaneously.     Abstract Abstract Background Temperature variability (TV) is associated with increased mortality risks. However, the independent impacts of interday and intraday are still unknown. Methods We proposed a new method to decompose TV into interday TV and intraday TV through algebra derivation. Intraday TV was defined as the weighted average standard deviation (SD) of minimum temperature and maximum temperature on each day. Interday TV was defined as the weighted SD of daily mean temperatures during the exposure period. We then performed an illustrative analysis using data on daily mortality and temperature in France in 2019–2021. Results The novel interday and intraday TV indices were good proxies for existing indicators, inlcluding diurnal temperature range (DTR) and temperature change between neighbouring days (TCN). In the illustrative analyses, interday and intraday TVs showed differentiated mortality risks. Mortality burden related to TV was mainly explained by the intraday component, accounting for an attributable fraction (AF) of 1.81% (95% CI: 0.64%, 2.97%) of total mortality, more than twice the AF of interday TV (0.86%, 95% CI: 0.47%, 1.24%). Conclusions This study proposed a novel method for identifying and isolating the different components of temperature variability and offered a comprehensive way to investigate their health impacts.

    Abstract With the expansion of the new energy vehicle market, electric vehicle batteries (EVBs) have entered a massive retirement wave. The strategic level of facility location and configuration decisions and the tactical level of multi-product flow and multi-technology selection decisions have been integrated into a sustainable reverse logistics network (SRLN). In this paper, we considered multiple kinds of waste electric vehicle batteries (WEVBs) with multiple recycling technology and constructed a multi-level SRLN model for WEVBs with the objectives of minimum economic costs and minimum carbon emissions. To solve this model, fuzzy set theory was applied to the equivalence transformation of constraints, non-interactive and interactive methods were used to solve the multi-objective planning (MOP), and interactive fuzzy programming with priority control was proposed to find the global optimal solution for this model. Finally, numerical experiments demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model and solution method. The experimental results show that the SRLN model considering carbon emissions can significantly reduce carbon emissions of the network through a slight increase in the initial network construction cost, thus effectively balancing both economic and environmental objectives. In the non-interactive solution, the Lp-metric method has a lower deviation index than the weighted sum method; in the interactive solution, the priority control method proposed in this paper outperforms the TH method in terms of the number of practical solutions and CPU time and shows strong performance in searching and finding optimal solutions. The proposed model and method can provide the theoretical basis and technical support for a WEVB SRLN under the limited information uncertainty environment.

    Abstract Precursor ribosomal RNA (pre-rRNA) processing is a key step in ribosome biosynthesis and involves numerous RNases. A HEPN (higher eukaryote and prokaryote nucleotide binding) nuclease Las1 and a polynucleotide kinase Grc3 assemble into a tetramerase responsible for rRNA maturation. Here, we report the structures of full-length Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Cyberlindnera jadinii Las1-Grc3 complexes, and C. jadinii Las1. The Las1-Grc3 structures show that the central coiled-coil domain of Las1 facilitates pre-rRNA binding and cleavage, while the Grc3 C-terminal loop motif directly binds to the HEPN active center of Las1 and regulates pre-rRNA cleavage. Structural comparison between Las1 and Las1-Grc3 complex exhibits that Grc3 binding induces conformational rearrangements of catalytic residues associated with HEPN nuclease activation. Biochemical assays identify that Las1 processes pre-rRNA at the two specific sites (C2 and C2′), which greatly facilitates rRNA maturation. Our structures and specific pre-rRNA cleavage findings provide crucial insights into the mechanism and pathway of pre-rRNA processing in ribosome biosynthesis.

    Abstract As hazardous environmental pollutants, residual tetracycline (TC) and acetone are harmful to the ecosystem. Therefore, it is necessary to detect the presence of these pollutants in the environment. In this work, using Zn (II) salt, 4-(4-carboxy phenoxy) phthalic acid (H 3 L), and 3,5-bis(1-imidazolyl) pyridine (BMP), a new metal–organic framework (Zn-MOF) known as [Zn 3 (BMP) 2 L 2 (H 2 O) 4 ]·2H 2 O was synthesized using a one-pot hydrothermal method. The Zn-MOF has a three-dimensional framework based on the [Zn1N 2 O 2 ] and [Zn2N 2 O 4 ] nodes linked by a tridentate bridge BMP ligand and an L ligand with the μ 1 :η 1 η 0 /μ 1 :η 1 η 0 /μ 0 :η 0 η 0 coordination mode. There were two kinds of left- and right-handed helix chains, Zn1-BMP and Zn1-BMP-Zn1-L. The complex was stable in aqueous solutions with pH values of 4–10. The Zn-MOF exhibited a strong emission band centered at 385 nm owing to the π*→π electron transition of the ligand. It showed high luminescence in some common organic solvents as well as in the aqueous solutions of pH 4–10. Interestingly, TC and acetone effectively quenched the luminescence of the Zn-MOF in aqueous solution and enabled the Zn-MOF to be used as a sensor to detect TC and acetone. The detection limits of TC and acetone were observed to be 3.34 µM and 0.1597%, respectively. Even in acidic (pH = 4) and alkaline (pH = 10) conditions, the Zn-MOF showed a stable luminescence sensing capability to detect TC. Luminescence sensing of the Zn-MOF for TC in urine and aquaculture wastewater systems was not affected by the interfering agent. Furthermore, the mechanism of sensing TC was investigated in this study. Fluorescence resonance energy transfer and photoinduced electron transfer were found to be the possible quenching mechanisms via UV–Vis absorption spectra/the excitation spectra measurements and DFT calculations.

    Abstract Abstract Background The first three years of life are the critical and sensitive periods for the formation of individual abilities. However, existing data indicates that early childhood development (ECD) in economically vulnerable areas of China is lagging, which is closely related to the lack of parenting knowledge and poor parenting practices. Methods We conducted a non-masked cluster-randomized controlled trial in a former nationally designated poverty county of China. All 6–36-month-old children and their caregivers living in 18 communities/clusters (10 towns and 8 districts of the county seat) were enrolled in a 9-month parenting training program. In the treatment-group communities, ECD centers were installed where community workers provided parenting training sessions. If caregivers were unable to visit the center, home-based parenting training was offered. No intervention was provided to the control group. Furthermore, we assigned half of the treatment group to receive monthly developmental feedback in addition to the parenting training. Based on the baseline and follow-up data, we investigated the treatment effects on parenting knowledge, attitudes, and practices through Intention-to-Treat (ITT) and Treatment-on-the-Treated (TOT) analyses. Results We found no effects on the parenting knowledge and attitudes of the caregivers but significant effects on the parenting practices. The effects were heterogeneous among families with different characteristics. Specifically, on average, the program had the largest effect on internally oriented caregivers, mothers with higher education, and mothers who are primary caregivers. We want to emphasize that, although the ITT effect on parenting practices (the average treatment effect) were stronger for mothers with higher education, the TOT effect on parenting practices (the local average treatment effect, LATE) were stronger for mothers with less education.     Abstract G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs) are a protein superfamily comprising >800 members that regulate numerous cellular and physiologic responses. GPCRs represent the largest class of therapeutic targets with implications in various diseases. Although advances in GPCR structural and pharmacological research have significantly improved our knowledge of GPCR signaling mechanisms, mapping diverse post-translational modifications (PTMs) of GPCR proteins and understanding their regulatory roles have received much less attention. Mass spectrometry-based proteomics has become the most popular technology for profiling protein PTMs in a systematic manner. Herein we provide an overview of PTM types, locations, crosstalk and dynamic regulation for different GPCRs that are characterized using proteomic and/or biochemical approaches. Our main focus is on glycosylation, phosphorylation, ubiquitination and palmitoylation that are known to modulate receptor folding, biosynthesis, trafficking, dimerization and signaling. Furthermore, we discuss the locations of specific PTM sites in the structure of a given GPCR and its signaling complex to highlight the importance of PTM regulation in the molecular basis of GPCRs, which may shed new light on structure-based drug discovery.

    Abstract Quorum sensing is a density-dependent mechanism using chemical signal molecules termed autoinducers to regulate diverse biological processes in bacteria, including bioluminescence. However, the correlation between growth and light emission of two typical luminescent bacteria, Photobacterium phosphoreum T3 and Vibrio qinghaiensis sp.-Q67, is still unclear. This study investigates the variations of bioluminescence and the light-emission-involved gene expression of the above two strains, respectively, showing that bioluminescence is population density-dependent. Furthermore, the effect of crude extracts (175, 350, 700 and 1750 mg/L) from the bacterial culture that contains the potential autoinducers on the bioluminescence is explored. At the exponential and the early stationary growth phase, T3 did not exhibit an obvious light intensity and cell density change after adding crude extracts at 175 and 350 mg/L, while the light intensity decreased at 700 and 1750 mg/L, showing a luminescence inhibition. For Q67, the light intensity increased dramatically with crude extract concentration. These results suggest that the bioluminescence process of both T3 and Q67 is controlled by quorum sensing. Furthermore, the different response modes of these two strains to autoinducers imply that the two strains could be applied to different compounds for toxicity assesses.
