Abstract OBJECTIVE: To investigate the correlation between chemical constituents and active ingredients of 13 types of Chinese mulberry fruits. METHODS: Thirteen types mulberry fruits were harvested. The correlation between chemical constituents and active ingredients (primarily anthocyanins and rutins) of 13 new types of Chinese mulberries was assessed using partial‐least‐squares, principle‐component and canonical‐correlation analyses. RESULTS: Vitamin C and titratable acid in the mulberry fruits were critical components that affected the active ingredients, especially anthocyanins and rutins. The content of titratable acid content was related to the fruit flavor and maintained the balance of anthocyanins, vitamin C and rutins. Mineral elements, such as Zn and Cu, also played a vital role in these processes. Low contents of sugar, crude protein, crude fat and pectin were significantly correlated with the mineral elements. CONCLUSION: Chemical constituents and mineral elements can mutually affect the concentration. It provides a novel method for any changes in the quality of new types of Chinese mulberries, which can identify the sources of new types of natural antioxidants.

Abstract Object detection plays an important role in the field of computer vision. The purpose of object detection is to identify the objects of interest in the image and determine their categories and positions. Object detection has many important applications in various fields. This article addresses the problems of unclear foreground contour in moving object detection and excessive noise points in the global vision, proposing an improved Gaussian mixture model for feature fusion. First, the RGB image was converted into the HSV space, and a mixed Gaussian background model was established. Next, the object area was obtained through background subtraction, residual interference in the foreground was removed using the median filtering method, and morphological processing was performed. Then, an improved Canny algorithm using an automatic threshold from the Otsu method was used to extract the overall object contour. Finally, feature fusion of edge contours and the foreground area was performed to obtain the final object contour. The experimental results show that this method improves the accuracy of the object contour and reduces noise in the object.

Abstract Spatial perception problems are the fundamental building blocks of robotics and computer vision. However, in many real-world situations, they inevitably suffer from the issue of outliers, which hinders traditional solvers from making correct estimates. In this paper, we present a novel, general-purpose robust estimator IMOT (Iterative Multi-layered Otsu's Thresholding) using standard non-minimal solvers to rapidly reject outliers for spatial perception problems. First, we propose a new outlier-robust iterative optimizing framework where in each iteration all the measurement data are separated into two groups according to the residual errors and only the group with lower residual errors can be preserved for estimation in the next iteration. Second, we introduce and employ the well-known Otsu's method (from image processing) to conduct thresholding on the residual errors so as to obtain the best separation (grouping) statistically which maximizes the between-class variance. Third, to enhance robustness, we design a multi-layered Otsu's thresholding approach in combination with our framework to sift out the true inliers from outliers that might even occupy the majority of measurements. We test our robust estimator IMOT on 5 different spatial perception problems including: rotation averaging, rotation search, point cloud registration, category-level registration, and SLAM. Experiments show that IMOT is robust against 70%--90% of outliers and can typically converge in only 3--10 iterations, being 3--125 times faster than existing robust estimators: GNC and ADAPT. Moreover, IMOT is able to return robust results even without noise bound information.

Abstract The article deals with “Chinese path” ‒ modernization transformation of the Chinese Civilization. It is shown that “Chinese path” reflects the formation and development of a new configuration of Chinese civilization. From civilizational transformation to “the Chinese path” is the gradual historical development, was the failure “to improve the state of construction of the” victory “of the revolution state-building”, the success of the “economic state-building”, constructing a “civilizational state-building”. Socialism with Chinese characteristics liberates and develops the productive forces, creating a socialist market economy, socialist democracy, advanced socialist culture, harmonious socialist society, eco-culture of socialism.

Abstract This study aims to explore influence mechanism of multi-participants risk perception to the public opinion dissemination. Based on the complex network theory, the dynamic model of network public opinion dissemination is constructed, applied social network method to analyze the influence mechanism of information interaction of network public opinion participants on network public opinion communication, using the method of simulation, this paper discussed the influence of external factors on the communication state and risk of public opinion under the conditions of single interference, information superposition and time series transformation. The results show the advantage of government information release before large-scale dissemination is that can reduce the spread risk of public opinion. The media information release later than the government has a positive effect on the risk prevention and control of public opinion propagation. Under the interaction of media and government information, the information superposition effect is more significant, and superposition effect appearance is related to the order of the participants information release and the reliability of the facts represented by participants.

Abstract The role of religious belief in disasters has attracted increased scholarly interest in recent years. This paper shows that religious belief can generate disaster resilience through the pathways of disaster framing, mental health, and disaster behaviours. Drawing on interviews conducted with Tibetan Buddhist believers in the Yushu earthquake area of China, this study indicates that notions of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as religious practices, helped locals to make sense of the 2010 event, obtain spiritual support in its aftermath, foster a sense of community, and develop a prosocial post-earthquake environment. These religious notions and practices also assisted in sustaining a faith-based network composed of two kinds of important local social relationships, layperson-layperson and layperson-monk, which increased local disaster resilience at the level of response behaviour. The findings enrich our understanding of the religious source of disaster resilience and yield insights into disaster risk reduction in religious regions, especially where Buddhist belief is prevalent.

Abstract Obesity is a significant global health risk that can cause a range of serious metabolic problems, such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Adipose tissue plays a pivotal role in regulating energy and lipid storage. New research has underlined the crucial role of splicing factors in the physiological and functional regulation of adipose tissue. By generating multiple transcripts from a single gene, alternative splicing allows for a greater diversity of the proteome and transcriptome, which subsequently influence adipocyte development and metabolism. In this review, we provide an outlook on the part of splicing factors in adipogenesis and thermogenesis, and investigate how the different spliced isoforms can affect the development and function of adipose tissue.
