Abstract Attentional blink (AB) is a phenomenon in which the perception of a second target is impaired when it appears within 200-500 ms after the first target. Sound affects an AB and is accompanied by the appearance of an asymmetry during audiovisual integration, but it is not known whether this is related to the tonal representation of sound. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of audiovisual asymmetry on attentional blink and whether the presentation of pitch improves the ability to detect a target during an AB that is accompanied by audiovisual asymmetry. The results showed that as the lag increased, the subject's target recognition improved and the pitch produced further improvements. These improvements exhibited a significant asymmetry across the audiovisual channel. Our findings could contribute to better utilizations of audiovisual integration resources to improve attentional transients and auditory recognition decline, which could be useful in areas such as driving and education.

Abstract Members of Flaviviridae are enveloped single positive-stranded RNA viruses including hepacivirus, pestivirus, pegivirus, and mosquito-transmitted flavivirus, which are important pathogens of infectious diseases and pose serious threats to human health. Pseudotyped virus is an artificially constructed virus-like particle, which could infect host cells similar to a live virus but cannot produce infectious progeny virus. Therefore, pseudotyped virus has the advantages of a wide host range, high transfection efficiency, low biosafety risk, and accurate and objective quantification. It has been widely used in biological characteristics, drug screening, detection methods, and vaccine evaluation of Flaviviridae viruses like hepatitis C virus, Japanese encephalitis virus, dengue virus, and Zika virus.

Abstract The preparation of glass-ceramics with red mud and steel slag can not only solve the pollution problem caused by industrial waste slag but also produce economic benefits. It is difficult to analyze the high-temperature melt with the existing test methods, so the simulation experiment with molecular dynamics calculation becomes an important research method. The effects of steel slag content on the microstructure of red mud glass-ceramics were studied by molecular dynamics method. The results show that the binding ability of Si-O, Al-O, and Fe-O decreases with the increase in steel slag content. The number of Si-O-Si bridge oxygen increased gradually, while the number of Al-O-Al, Al-O-Fe, and Fe-O-Fe bridge oxygen decreased significantly. The number of tetrahedrons [SiO

Abstract In order to solve the difficulties encountered in E-wastes disposal automation, this work investigates the sensor-based sorting of waste washing machine parts. To satisfy the post-processing, we divided the parts into 6 categories (Piece, Cover, Base, Shell, Spin tub and Drain hose) based on the shape differences and used object recognition algorithm to classify them. In the recycling terminal, parts were divided based on types of materials. Piece and Cover contained acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) parts and polystyrene (PS) parts, while Base, Shell, Spin tub and Drain hose were polypropylene (PP) parts only. Therefore near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy was applied for sorting ABS, PS and PP. Algorithm for object recognition and NIR spectroscopy both reached high precision. In object recognition, algorithm of YOLOv5 and its improved models, including focal loss and channel attention mechanism, were tested. YOLOv5 with channel attention achieved the best 98.7% mean Average Precision (mAP) and the overall over 98% Average Precision (AP). In the task of NIR spectroscopy, principal component analysis (PCA) coupled with support vector machine (SVM) reached the overall 97.8% classification precision. Finally, a sorting platform based on our device and algorithm was designed.

Abstract Given the serious harm of toxic phenol to human health and the ecological environment, it is urgent to develop an efficient, low-cost and sensitive nanoenzyme-based method to monitor phenol. MOF-derived nanozyme has attracted wide interest due to its hollow polyhedra structure and porous micro-nano frameworks. However, it is still a great challenge to synthesize MOF-derived multimetal synergistic catalytic nanoenzymes in large quantities with low cost. Herein, we reported the synthetic strategy of porous hollow CA-CoNiMn-CLDHs with ZIF-67 as templates through a facile solvothermal reaction. The prepared trimetallic catalyst exhibits excellent peroxidase-like activity to trigger the oxidative coupling reaction of 4-AAP and phenol in the presence of H

Abstract The on-going global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by a novel coronavirus called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been underway for about 11 months. Through November 20, 2020, 51 detection kits for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acids (24 kits), antibodies (25 kits), or antigens (2 kits) have been approved by the National Medical Products Administration of China (NMPA). Convenient and reliable SARS-CoV-2 detection assays are urgently needed worldwide for strategic control of the pandemic. In this review, the detection kits approved in China are summarised and the three types of tests, namely nucleic acid, serological and antigen detection, which are available for the detection of COVID-19 are discussed in detail. The development of novel detection kits will lay the foundation for the control and prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic globally.
