Abstract Spleen deficiency can lead to various abnormal physiological functions of the spleen. Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (AMR) is a traditional Chinese medicine used to invigorate the spleen and tonify qi. The study aimed to identify the primary active components influencing the efficacy of AMR in strengthening the spleen and replenishing qi through spectrum-effect relationship and chemometrics. Network pharmacology was used to investigate the mechanism by which AMR strengthens the spleen and replenishes qi, with molecular docking utilized for validation purposes. The findings indicated that bran-fried AMR exhibited superior efficacy, with atractylenolides and atractylone identified as the primary active constituents. Atractylenolide II emerged as the most influential component impacting the effectiveness of AMR, while the key target was androgen receptor. Furthermore, crucial pathways implicated included the mitogen-activated protein cascade (MAPK) cascade, RNA polymerase II transcription factor activity, ligand-activated sequence-specific DNA binding, and RNA polymerase II sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor binding. In summary, our study has identified the primary active components associated with the efficacy of AMR and has provided an initial exploration of its mechanism of action. This offers a theoretical foundation for future investigations into the material basis and molecular mechanisms underlying the pharmacodynamics of AMR.

Abstract Aim: This study aims to explore the mind of Chinese nursing students transitioning to online education in the pandemic using health as expanding consciousness (HEC) as methodology.
Design: A qualitative, descriptive study based on interviews.
Methods: This qualitative study was conducted from September to November 2021 by students in the Guangzhou university of Chinese medicine. Thirteen participants were recruited using purposive sampling. A questionnaire containing two sections with demographic information, the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) and the Connor-Davidson resilience scale (CD-RISC)-10 was collected to explore the health of participants.
Results: A total of 13 participants were enrolled in the study (69% female). Students ranged in age between 19 and 24 years and the mean age was 22 years. All students lived with their families. Five participants (38%) had a master's degree in nursing, three (23%) were in fourth year of college, four (30%) were in third year of college and one (7%) was in their second year of college respectively. More than half of the participants had high levels of mental toughness and self-efficacy. Four generic categories were identified form a unitary-transformative paradigm perspective. The respondents reported three health pattern phases: Curriculum Transformation, Curriculum adaptation and Curriculum expansion.
Conclusion: This research backs up Newman's hypothesis, and supports the theoretical framework. HEC explains well the psychology of nursing students during the epidemic. More research is needed in the future to develop comprehensive, targeted emotional regulation therapies for nursing students.

Abstract Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) are complex inflammatory diseases caused by multi-factors, which severely impact patient quality of life. However, there is still no effective treatment method for RAS without side effects. Traditionally, Cortex Phellodendri known as "Huang Bai" was used to treat RAS for antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties in China. Network pharmacology methods and bioinformatics analysis were utilized to search and fish incorporating target. Network analysis and silico validation were used to discover the pharmacological mechanisms of "Huang Bai" for the treatment of RAS. A total of 25 active ingredients in HB, 200 drug targets, and 578 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between Recurrent aphthous stomatitis and normal samples were obtained. The Gene Ontology enrichment analysis revealed that the immune response was the most significantly enriched term within the DEGs. The KEGG pathway analysis identified 60 significant pathways, most of which involved in the inhibition of inflammation and regulation of immunological response. The functions are dependent on a multi-pathway, particularly the TNF signaling pathway and the HIF-1 signaling pathway. We identified six hub genes in the PPI network, most of which were validated as highly expressed in oral ulcers by DiseaseMeth databases. In addition, molecular docking displayed that the primary molecule combined well with the key targets. "Huang Bai" contains potential anti-RAS active compounds. This study reflects the multi-component multi-target multi-pathway action characteristics of "Huang Bai." Our study provides potential biomarkers or treatment targets for further research.

Abstract We present a unified, promptable model capable of simultaneously segmenting, recognizing, and captioning anything. Unlike SAM, we aim to build a versatile region representation in the wild via visual prompting. To achieve this, we train a generalizable model with massive segmentation masks, e.g., SA-1B masks, and semantic priors from a pre-trained CLIP model with 5 billion parameters. Specifically, we construct a promptable image decoder by adding a semantic token to each mask token. The semantic token is responsible for learning the semantic priors in a predefined concept space. Through joint optimization of segmentation on mask tokens and concept prediction on semantic tokens, our model exhibits strong regional recognition and localization capabilities. For example, an additional 38M-parameter causal text decoder trained from scratch sets a new record with a CIDEr score of 150.7 on the Visual Genome region captioning task. We believe this model can be a versatile region-level image tokenizer, capable of encoding general-purpose region context for a broad range of perception tasks. Code and models are available at https://github.com/baaivision/tokenize-anything.

Abstract Leaves of many plants are red when they are young/old, which was suggested as an adaptive strategy to reduce insect herbivory. The “coevolution hypothesis” proposes that red leaves function as a warning signal, while most herbivores in tropical and subtropical areas are known for their insensitivity to red. To examine whether young-leaf redness functioned as an effective defense to common herbivores and determine the way it works, we conducted a comparative study of leaf color and protective tissue across five forest communities in south-central China, combined with leaf surface reflective spectrum analyses. Mature/young leaves of 151 species were examined for their phylogenetic/non-phylogenetic correlation between leaf redness and mechanical protection. Reflective spectra of both adaxial/abaxial surfaces of young/mature leaves in one community were examined using a portable spectrometer. The data were transformed into a bee vision model and compared in different color groups (red/green-young-leaf species) to examine whether they could be discriminated by common herbivores in subtropical area. In our study, about half species of each community (43.3% ~ 61.1%) present red young leaves, much more than present among mature/senescent leaves. Green-young-leaf species presented a significantly higher proportion of protective tissue than red-young-leaf species in all communities. Phylogenetic analyses using Pagel's correlated evolution test found a correlation between young-leaf color and mechanical structure, indicating leaf redness might be complementary to mechanical protection. Alternatively, reflective spectrum analyses suggested that the most common insect herbivores (Lepidoptera larvae and Coleoptera) could hardly distinguish red from green leaves. Our results suggest the accumulation of anthocyanin is a common defense in spring young leaves, which likely functions in some other way beyond being a visual warning. Given that anthocyanin also plays an important role in physiological functions, it is important to consider and understand the ecological significance of anthocyanin from multiple aspects.

Abstract The primary purpose of maritime delimitation is to ensure the maximum internal waters area obtained. In order to grantee the maximum internal waters area obtained with the selected base point, the idea and method of optimal selection of the territorial sea base points with the convex hull (minimum convex hull) construction technology is proposed. The ideal base points are selected by constructing convex hull for all alternative base points, which makes it possible to realize the automatic selection of base points under the principle of the maximum internal waters area.

Abstract The method for calculation of geodetic problem on earth ellipsoid surface is the basic premise for the realization of high-precision marine delimitation technology. Based on the analysis of the construction principle of the existing solution of geodetic problem method, the algorithm for direct geodetic problem solution(DGPS) based on nested coefficient method and Bessel’s inverse geodetic problem solution(IGPS), which are suitable for various distance solutions, are optimized. Then, the experimental verification scheme of the solution of geodetic problem is designed. Finally, the crossing and reducing accuracy of different calculation examples are verified by different geodetic problem solution methods, and the experiment shows that: the verified accuracy of point-position plotting, distance calculation and azimuth calculation meet the requirements of the indexes of high-precision marine delimitation.
