    Abstract Fully understanding the local populace’s awareness and reactions to corporate social responsibility (CSR) with a strong emphasis on sustainability is crucial for multinational enterprises (MNEs) to design and implement effective localized CSR strategies. This study centers on the home appliance industry and utilizes semi-structured interviews and questionnaire surveys as the research methods to construct and validate a model called “Attribution–Perception–Satisfaction–Loyalty (APSL)” that visualizes consumer responses to CSR information, particularly in the context of sustainability. We further explore the distinctions in the mechanism between Chinese and Japanese consumers, considering cultural, economic, and institutional aspects related to sustainability. The findings reveal that beyond the perceptions related to value-driven motivations, there are pronounced differences between Chinese and Japanese consumers in stakeholder-driven, self-interest-driven, and strategy-driven motivations, which can impact sustainability initiatives. Notably, Japanese consumers are more significantly affected by the impact of CSR on their satisfaction and loyalty. This study not only enriches and expands the theoretical framework of CSR and consumer responses to CSR but also offers insights and recommendations for MNEs in China and Japan to help overcome the self-reference criterion and implement local CSR marketing strategies with a strong emphasis on sustainability.

    Abstract China is striving to leverage the power of science and technology to green its agriculture and simultaneously enhance grain productivity. To assess the performance dynamics of the dual agricultural mission, this study presents the green growth rate of agriculture using the DEA-based Green Total Factor Productivity (GTFP) indicator, together with the growth rate of grain yields, and applies it to the case of Jiangsu, a major grain-producing province with a well-developed economy. It is found that Jiangsu’s agriculture has generally performed well during the implementation of the two major national strategies addressing green development and grain security, especially in northern Jiangsu, which is a major grain-producing area. In contrast, the phased fluctuations in green growth in agriculture in southern Jiangsu are more pronounced, with negative green growth even occurring during the green agriculture movement. Much of the volatility in agricultural green growth at the provincial, subregional and municipal levels is generated by the effects of the movement of the green technology frontier, which is led by the best practitioners. Accordingly, the possibility of improving the weak state of the catch-up effect on green growth is explored from the perspective of the Chinese government-led agricultural science and innovation system; it also traces the green agricultural initiatives in the main grain-marketing areas that have failed to deliver the expected green growth, and recommends a review of such policies and a refinement of the GTFP Index tool for assessing sustainable green growth.

    Abstract Sensor technology plays a pivotal role in various aspects of the petroleum industry. The conventional quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) liquid-phase detection method fails to discern the viscosity and density of solutions separately, rendering it incapable of characterizing the properties of unknown liquid solutions. This presents a formidable challenge to the application of QCM in the petroleum industry. In this study, we aim to assess the feasibility of exclusively utilizing a single QCM sensor for liquid viscosity measurements. Validation experiments were conducted, emphasizing the influence of temperature and solution concentration on the viscosity measurement results. The results indicate that the QCM liquid viscosity response model can achieve viscosity measurements in the temperature range of 20 to 60 °C and concentration range of 10%-95% glycerol solution using a single QCM, with a maximum error of 7.32%. Simultaneously, with the objective of enhancing the model's measurement precision, as an initial investigation, we employed a backpropagation neural network combined with genetic algorithm (to optimize the measurement data. The results demonstrate a substantial improvement in the measurement accuracy of the QCM sensor, with a root mean square error of 3.89 and an absolute error of 3.07% in predicting viscosity values. The purpose of this research was to extend neural networks into the evaluation system of QCM sensors for assessing the viscosity properties of liquid in the oil industry, providing insights into the application of QCM sensors in the petroleum industry for viscosity measurement and improving measurement accuracy.

    Abstract Objective: To elucidate the potential feature and mechanism of the caffeic acid 3,4-dihydroxyphenethyl ester (CADPE) molecule, which can prevent colorectal cancer (CRC) in the 1,2-Dimethylhydrazine (DMH)/dextran sodium sulphate (DSS)-induced mouse model.
    Methods: Institute of cancer research (ICR) male mice were injected with 20 mg/kg DMH for a week. After that, 2% DSS was administered in the drinking water for another 7 d. The CADPE treatment was given to the DMH/DSS induced male mice at three different periods until their sacrifice. Histopathological examination was used for observing the CRC development at colonic mucosa. Immunohistochemistry (IHC), blood cells smearing and crypt damage scoring methods were used for investigating the anti-inflammation feature of CADPE related to CRC. The reversing targets searching method was applied with artificial intelligence (AI), computer-aided drug designing (CADD) and Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) techniques for predicting the potential targets and mechanism of CADPE highly related to CRC.
    Results: The data indicated that CADPE inhibited CRC tumor development in the colitis-associated DMH/DSS induced mouse model after giving the early treatment. CADPE also impeded the acute inflammation by decreasing the infiltration of neutrophils significantly during the initial stage of CRC development. Finally, our data showed that CADPE prevented CRC by blocking active sites of three pivotal protein targets including epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) and mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) in two major cancer development pathways.
    Conclusions: CADPE effectively prevented CRC at early stage of tumor germination in the DMH/DSS mouse model highly likely due to its anti-acute inflammation characteristic and the ability of blocking EGFR, ERK and mTOR activities in two highly related CRC developing pathways.

    Abstract Purpose: Investigating the role of lncRNAs associated with the latest cell death mode (Disulfideptosis) in renal clear cell carcinoma, as well as their correlation with tumor prognosis, immune escape, immune checkpoints, tumor mutational burden, and malignant tumor progression. Searching for potential biomarkers and targets for renal clear cell carcinoma.
    Methods: Downloaded the expression profile data and clinical data of 533 cases of renal clear cell carcinoma from the TCGA database, and randomly divided them into a test set (267 cases) and a validation set (266 cases). Based on previous research, 13 genes associated with Disulfideptosis were obtained. Using R software, lncRNAs with a differential expression that is related to the prognosis of renal clear cell carcinoma and associated with Disulfideptosis were screened out. After univariate Cox regression analysis, Lasso regression analysis, and multivariate Cox regression analysis, lncRNAs with independent predictive ability were obtained. A predictive risk model was established based on the risk scores. Verification was carried out between the obtained high-risk and low-risk groups and their subgroups (including Age, Gender, tumor mutational burden (TMB), tumor grading, and staging). Subsequently, a nomogram was established, and a calibration curve was generated for verification. Performed GO (Gene Ontology) and KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) functional enrichment analyses. Downloaded the values of Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion (TIDE) for all samples and calculated the difference between the high and low-risk groups. Selected human renal tumor cell lines (786-O, OS-RC-2, A-498, ACHN) and human renal cortex proximal tubule epithelial cell line (HK-2). The RNA expression levels of the above lncRNAs in each cell line were analyzed using RT-qPCR (Real-time Quantitative PCR Detecting System). Used siRNA (small interfering RNA) to knock down FAM225B in 786-O and OS-RC-2 cell lines, and then performed
    Results: Our constructed predictive model includes 5 lncRNAs with an independent predictive ability (FAM225B, ZNF503-AS1, SPINT1-AS1, WWC2-AS2, LINC01338), which can effectively distinguish between patients in high and low-risk groups and their subgroups. The 1, 3, and 5-year AUC (Area Under the ROC Curve) values of the established nomogram are 0.756, 0.752, and 0.781, respectively. The 5-year AUC value is higher compared to other clinical characteristics (Age: 0.598, Gender: 0.488, Grade: 0.680, Stage: 0.717). After the knockdown of FAM225B, the proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities of renal cancer cell lines OS-RC-2 and 786-O all decreased.
    Conclusion: We have constructed and validated a prognostic model based on Disulfideptosis-associated lncRNAs. This model can effectively predict the high or low risk of patient prognosis and can distinguish the tumor cell mutational burden and immune escape capabilities among high-risk and low-risk patients. This predictive model can serve as an independent prognostic factor for renal clear cell carcinoma, providing a new direction for personalized treatment of patients with renal clear cell carcinoma.

    Abstract Introduction: Left bundle branch pacing (LBBP) is a physiological pacing modality. However, the long procedure and fluoroscopy time of LBBP is still a problem. This study aims to compare the clinical outcomes between transthoracic echocardiography (TTE)- and X-ray-guided LBBP.
    Methods: This is a single-center, prospective, randomized controlled study. Consecutive patients who underwent LBBP in our team from June 2022 to November 2022 were enrolled. Procedure and fluoroscopy time, pacing parameters, electrophysiological and echocardiographic characteristics, as well as complications were recorded at implantation and during follow-up.
    Results: In this study, 60 patients were enrolled and divided into two groups: 30 patients were allocated to the X-ray group and the remaining 30 to the TTE group. There was no significant difference in the success rate between the two groups (86.7% vs. 76.7%, p = .317). The procedure time of TTE group was comparable to that of the X-ray group (9.0 vs. 12.0 min, p = .063). However, the fluoroscopy time in the TTE group was significantly lower than that of the X-ray group (2.5 vs. 5.0 min, p = .002). There were no statistically significant differences in pacing parameters, electrophysiological and echocardiographic characteristics, or complications between the two groups at implantation and during follow-up.
    Conclusion: TTE-guided LBBP is a feasible and safe method. Compared with X-ray, TTE showed a comparable success rate and procedure time, but it could significantly reduce the fluoroscopy time of LBBP.

    Abstract Acute pancreatitis (AP) is an inflammatory disease of the pancreas. Iron is an essential element for life and is involved in many metabolic processes. Ferroptosis is a type of regulated cell death that is triggered by iron and oxidative stress. A well-established mouse AP model was adopted to study the role of iron and ferroptosis in the pathogenesis of pancreatitis. Mice were injected with cerulein to induce AP, and pancreatic tissue samples were analyzed to determine the pathology, cell death, iron deposition, expression of iron transporters, and lipid peroxidation. The role of iron was studied by giving mice extra iron or iron chelator. In vitro studies with acinar cells with ferroptosis activator and inhibitor were also performed to assess the inflammatory response. Iron was found accumulated in the pancreatic tissue of mice who suffered cerulein-induced pancreatitis. Cell death and lipid peroxidation increased in these tissues and could be further modulated by iron dextran or iron chelator. Mice given Hemin through gavage had reduced levels of GSH in pancreatic tissue and increased inflammatory response. Studies with acinar cells showed increased levels of lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis-specific mitochondrial damage when treated with ferroptosis inducer and inflammatory cytokines.

    Abstract Cerebral infarction is a serious brain injury disease, which is mainly caused by the blockage of blood circulation in patients’ brains; thus, the patient’s brain appears ischemia and hypoxia state, and large-scale nerve cell death occurs immediately. The aim of this study was to explore the influence of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis (LEDVT) on coagulation indexes and thromboelastogram (TEG) after cerebral infarction. Altogether, 67 patients with cerebral infarction complicated with LEDVT in our hospital from April 2017 to August 2019 were collected as the observation group (OG) and 58 patients with cerebral infarction without lower extremity deep venous thrombosis as the control group (CG). The R, K, angle, and MA values in PT, APTT, TT, FIB, and TEG indexes were compared between the two groups. The ROC curve was applied to analyze the diagnostic value of R value, K value, angle value, and MA value in the occurrence of LEDVT in patients with cerebral infarction. Logistic regression analysis was applied to analyze the independent risk factors of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis in cerebral infarction. PT, APTT, and TT in the OG were evidently lower than those in the CG, while FIB in the OG was evidently higher than that in the CG, R value and K value of the OG were evidently lower than those of the CG, and angle and MA values were higher than those in the CG. The AUC of R value, K value, angle value, and MA value of the ROC curve of LEDVT in patients with cerebral infarction was 0.735, 0.713, 0.790, and 0.819. Multivariate analysis showed that high FIB, angle, and MA were risk factors, while R and K values were protective factors. PT, APTT, and TT are lower and FIB is higher in patients with cerebral infarction with LEDVT. TEG has a certain diagnostic value. FIB value, angle value, and MA value are independent risk factors of LEDVT in patients with cerebral infarction, while R value and K value are protective factors.

    Abstract Myocardial infarction (MI), which results in myocardial cell dysfunction and irreversible loss, is one of the most serious health threats today. This study was started with rats, by which the consequence of miRNA expression dysregulation to the occurrence and progression of cardiovascular diseases was explored. We first conducted miRNA sequencing on the myocardial tissues separately from myocardial infarction treatment and sham operation treatment to clarify those differently expressed miRNAs; then, our experiment of functional verification of those key miRNAs was initiated so as to dig out the molecular mechanism behind the miRNA’s regulation in myocardial infarction. And it turned out that there were 32 upregulated miRNAs and 16 downregulated miRNAs according to our comparison from the myocardial infarction model group to the sham operation group; of all those upregulated, alteration in miR-214-3p expression was the most conspicuous. Overexpression of miR-214-3p greatly alleviated myocardial infarct area and ameliorated myocardial tissue structure, even reducing myocardial fibrosis and the devastation in the tissues. On the molecular level, miR-214-3p overexpression brought down both the apoptosis rate and cleaved caspase 3 expression. Besides that, we verified that PTEN is the target gene of miR-214-3p through a dual-luciferase assay. A cotransfection of miR-214-3p and PTEN brought about an obvious elevation in the myocardial infarct area, tissue damage, and fibrosis, even in the aspect of cellular apoptosis than a mere transfection of miR-214-3p. All the results above verified miR-214-3p′s effects in protecting myocardial tissues and reducing the infarct area, and it was reasonable to assume that those functions of miR-214-3p came into effect by targeting PTEN, which was then justified by the inversion to miR-214-3p′s protection via PTEN overexpression.

    Abstract The theory of band topology has inspired the discovery of various topologically protected states in the regime of photonics. It has led to the development of topological photonic devices with robust property and versatile functionalities, like unidirectional waveguides, compact power splitters, high-Q resonators, and robust lasers. These devices mainly rely on the on-chip photonic crystal (PhC) in Si or III-V compound materials with a fairly large bandgap. However, the topological designs have rarely been applied to the ultra-low-loss silicon nitride (SiN) platform which is widely used in silicon photonics for important devices and integrated photonic circuits. It is mainly hindered by the relatively low refractive index. In this work, we revealed that a rhombic PhC can open a large bandgap in the SiN slab, and thus support robust topological corner states stemming from the quantization of the dipole moments. Meanwhile, we propose the inclination angle of rhombic lattice, as a new degree of freedom, to manipulate the characteristics of topological states. Our work shows a possibility to further expand the topological protection and design flexibility to SiN photonic devices.
