    Abstract Background: Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 1 (TRPV1) was considered to play pivotal roles in multiple cancers; however, the expression and clinical significance of the TRPV1 remain unclear, which were explored in this study. Results: The pan-cancer analysis was performed based on 10,236 samples in 32 cancers. Differential TRPV1 expression levels were detected in 12 cancers (p < 0.05). TRPV1 demonstrated its conspicuous prognosis significance and prediction effects for some cancers (e.g., lung adenocarcinoma), indicating its potential as a valuable and novel biomarker in treating and predicting cancers. TRPV1 expression was relevant to DNA methyltransferases, mismatch repair genes, tumor mutational burden, and microsatellite instability. TRPV1 expression was associated with the immune microenvironment of some cancers, and its roles in different cancers may be mediated by affecting various immune cells. Gene set enrichment analysis discloses the significant relevance of TRPV1 expression with a series of metabolic and immunoregulatory-related pathways. Conclusions: This study provided a comprehensive workflow of the expression, clinical significance, and underlying mechanisms of TRPV1 in pan-cancer. TRPV1 may be an underlying biomarker for predicting and treating multiple cancer.

    Abstract Metal halide perovskites have unparalleled optoelectronic properties and broad application potential and are expected to become the next epoch-making optoelectronic semiconductors. Although remarkable achievements have been achieved with lead halide perovskites, the toxicity of lead inhibits the development of such materials. Recently, Sb 3+ -activated luminescent metal halide perovskite materials with low toxicity, high efficiency, broadband, large Stokes shift, and emission wavelengths covering the entire visible and near-infrared regions have been considered one of the most likely luminescent materials to replace lead halide perovskites. This review reviews the synthesis, luminescence mechanism, structure, and luminescence properties of the compounds. The basic luminescence properties of Sb 3+ -activated luminescent metal halide perovskites and their applications in WLED, electroluminescence LED, temperature sensing, optical anti-counterfeiting, and X-ray scintillators are introduced. Finally, the development prospects and challenges of Sb 3+ -activated luminescent metal halide perovskites are discussed.

    Abstract The sequence-structure-function paradigm of protein is the basis of molecular biology. What is the underlying mechanism of such sequence and structure/function corresponding relationship? We reviewed the methods for protein representation and protein design. With these protein representation models, we can accurately predict many properties of proteins, such as stability and binding affinity. Progen, Chroma, RF Diffusion, SCUBA, and other protein design models have demonstrated how human-designed artificial proteins can have desired biological functions. The protein design will revolutionize drug development. And more efficient artificial enzymes that break down industrial waste or plastics will contribute to carbon neutrality. We also discussed the three greatest challenges of protein design in future and possible solutions.

    Abstract From the perspective of the innovation value chain, this study divides the innovation efficiency of green technology into two stages: R&D efficiency and achievement transformation efficiency. Technology density is introduced as a threshold variable to examine the influence of environmental regulation on the efficiency of green technology innovation at both stages. The findings reveal that China's overall green technology innovation efficiency (GTIE) is improving. R&D efficiency initially declined, then increased, while the efficiency of achievement transformation experienced a three-stage pattern: rise-fall-rise. The GTIE distribution across the two stages progressively increases from the northwest to the southeast, resulting in a concentrated, contiguous “line-shaped” and “block-shaped” pattern. High-efficiency areas are primarily found in the eastern coastal regions. Nationally, Environmental regulation and R&D efficiency share an inverted U-shaped relationship, with a double threshold effect of technology density. Environmental regulation does not significantly affect achievement transformation efficiency, but there is a single threshold effect due to technology density.

    Abstract Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been a public threat and healthcare concern caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. During the period of the pandemic of COVID-19, cancer patients should be paid more attention as more severe events are found in cancer patients infected with SARS-CoV-2. Basigin (BSG) is an essential factor for the infection and progression of COVID-19 and tumorigenesis of multiple tumors, which may serve as a novel target for the effective treatment against COVID-19 and multiple human cancers.Methods: A total of 19,020 samples from multiple centers were included in our research for the comprehensive investigation of the differences in BSG expression among human organs, cancer cells, cancer tissues, and normal tissues. Cox regression analysis and Kaplan–Meier curves were utilized to explore the prognosis factor of BSG in cancers. Correlation analyses were used to determine associations of BSG expression with tumor mutational burden, the immune microenvironment, etc. Gene set enrichment analysis was applied to explore the underlying mechanisms of BSG in cancers.Results: Compared with normal tissues, BSG expression was high in 13 types of cancers (cholangiocarcinoma, etc.) and low in colon adenocarcinoma and rectum adenocarcinoma. BSG expression was related to the prognosis of eight cancers (e.g., invasive breast carcinoma) (p < 0.05). The gene also demonstrated a pronounced effect in identifying 12 cancers (cholangiocarcinoma, etc.) from their control samples (AUC >0.7). The BSG expression was associated with DNA methyltransferases, mismatch repair genes, immune infiltration levels, tumor mutational burden, microsatellite instability, neoantigen, and immune checkpoints, suggesting the potential of BSG as an exciting target for cancer treatment.     Abstract Background: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) substantially affects quality of life and requires early prevention. This study aimed to elucidate the relationships between IBS and daily behaviors, including sedentary behavior (SB), physical activity (PA), and sleep. In particular, it seeks to identify healthy behaviors to reduce IBS risk, which previous studies have rarely addressed. Methods: Daily behaviors were retrieved from self-reported data of 362,193 eligible UK Biobank participants. Incident cases were determined by self-report or health care data according to Rome IV criteria. Results: A total of 345,388 participants were IBS-free at baseline, during a median follow-up of 8.45 years, 19,885 incident IBS cases were recorded. When examined individually, SB and shorter (≤7 h/day) or longer (>7 h/day) sleep duration were each positively associated with increased IBS risk, and PA was associated with lower IBS risk. The isotemporal substitution model suggested that replacing SB with other activities could provide further protective effects against IBS risk. Among people sleeping ≤7 h/day, replacing 1 h of SB with equivalent light PA, vigorous PA, or sleep was associated with 8.1% (95% confidence interval (95%CI): 0.901–0.937), 5.8% (95%CI: 0.896–0.991), and 9.2% (95%CI: 0.885–0.932) reduced IBS risk, respectively. For people sleeping >7 h/day, light and vigorous PA were associated with a 4.8% (95%CI: 0.926–0.978) and a 12.0% (95%CI: 0.815–0.949) lower IBS risk, respectively. These benefits were mostly independent of genetic risk for IBS. Conclusion: SB and unhealthy sleep duration are risk factors for IBS. A promising way to mitigate IBS risk for individuals sleeping ≤7 h/day and for those sleeping >7 h/day appears to be by replacing SB with adequate sleep or vigorous PA, respectively, regardless of the genetic predisposition of IBS.

    Abstract With the exponential growth of educational data, increasing attention has been given to student learning supported by learning analytics dashboards. Related research has indicated that dashboards relying on descriptive analytics are deficient compared to more advanced analytics. However, there is a lack of empirical data to demonstrate the performance and differences between different types of analytics in dashboards. To investigate these, the study used a controlled, between-groups experimental method to compare the effects of descriptive and prescriptive dashboards on learning outcomes. Based on the learning analytics results, the descriptive dashboard describes the learning state and the prescriptive dashboard provides suggestions for learning paths. The results show that both descriptive and prescriptive dashboards can effectively promote students’ cognitive development. The advantage of prescriptive dashboard over descriptive dashboard is its promotion in learners’ learning strategies. In addition, learners’ prior knowledge and learning strategies determine the extent of the impact of dashboard feedback on learning outcomes.

    Abstract The advent of immunotherapy, especially immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), has revolutionized antitumor therapy. Programmed cell death receptor 1 (PD-1) and programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) are among the most promising targets for encouraging the immune system to eliminate cancer cells. PD-1/PD-L1 have made clinical remission for numerous solid tumors, including metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). In recent years, integrating PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors into existing treatments in early-stage TNBC has attracted wide attention. Herein, we summarize the clinical benefit of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors plus neoadjuvant chemotherapy, adjuvant chemotherapy, and targeted therapy in early-stage TNBC. Possible immunotherapy biomarkers, immune-related adverse events (irAEs), and the key challenges faced in TNBC anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy are also concluded. Numerous studies on immunotherapy are ongoing, and PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors have demonstrated great clinical prospects in early-stage TNBC. To maximize the efficacy of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy, further research into the challenges which still exist is necessary.

    Abstract A real-time eye diagram monitoring method for optical signals is proposed and experimentally demonstrated based on optical sampling. In the system, the optical signals under test are directly sampled by an optical sampling pulse train with a narrow pulse width and a high repetition frequency. The sampling pulse train is achieved in a Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM), gated on-off by an electrical pulse. The sampled optical signals are then broadened and detected by a photodetector (PD). A low-speed electrical analog-to-digital converter (ADC) will then quantify the detected electrical signals. Combining with an algorithm based on the infinitesimal calculus, the quantified data is then used to achieve the eye diagram, according to which more time-domain parameters, such as period, time jitter, Q value, and bit error rate (BER) for the optical signals under test, are obtained. Thanks to the high repetition rate of the optical sampling pulse train, the eye diagram and the time-domain parameters of the optical signals are observed in real time. Experimental results show that a real time of about 350-μs eye diagram monitoring for a 2.5-Gb/s optical signal with a dynamic range from −10 to −22 dBm is achieved. In addition, time jitters are measured to range from 4.3 to 49.8 ps. Q values are estimated to range from 20.4 to 4.3, corresponding to BERs ranging from 2.3 × 10 −92 to 8.5 × 10 −6 . The results are also verified by a commercial real-time oscilloscope.
