Abstract This work proposes novel approaches for object tracking in challenging scenarios like severe occlusion, deteriorated vision and long range multi-object reidenti?cation. All these solutions are only based on image sequence captured by a monocular camera and do not require additional sensors. Experiments on standard benchmarks demonstrate an improved state-of-the-art performance of these approaches. Since all the presented approaches are smartly designed, they can run at a real-time speed

Abstract Nanographenes (NGs) have drawn extensive attention as promising candidates for next-generation optoelectronic and nonlinear optical (NLO) materials, owing to its unique optoelectronic properties and high thermal stability. However, the weak polarity or even non-polarity of NGs (resulting in weak even order NLO properties) and the high chemical reactivity of zigzag edged NGs hinder their further applications in nonlinear optics, thus stabilization (lowering the chemical reactivity) and polarizing the charge distribution in NGs are necessary for such applications of NGs. The fusion of heptagon and pentagon endows the azulene with the character of donor-acceptor, and the B=N unit is isoelectronic to C=C unit. The introduction of polar azulene and BN are idea to polarize and stabilize the electronic structure of NGs for NLO applications. In the present review, a survey on the functionalization and applications of NGs in nonlinear optics is conducted. The engineering of the electronic structure of NGs by topological defects, doping and edge modulation is summarized. Finally, a summary of challenges and perspectives for carbon-based NLO nanomaterials is presented.

Abstract Objective: To assess the feasibility of the robot-assisted retractor. To compare the muscle injury of the two operation modes, intermittent retraction mode and continuous retraction mode in the robot-assisted retractor to find a better robot operation mode.
Methods: A new robot-assisted retractor experimental platform was developed. Three incisions were made on the backs of three beagles. The robot-assisted retractor was used to retract the muscle on both sides of the incisions in intermittent retraction mode and continuous retraction mode, and the operation of the robot system was observed. The muscle samples were stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE) to observe the muscle injury. The difference between the muscle injuries of the two groups was statistically compared using paired
Results: The robot-assisted retractor can precisely retract to the specified position without malfunction or dangerous actions. Histologic evaluation showed that fewer muscle injury was found in the intermittent retraction mode group of the robot-assisted retractor compared to the continuous retraction mode group.
Conclusion: The robot-assisted retractor offers a certain degree of feasibility and safety. The robot-assisted retractor is able to effectively reduce muscle injury with the intermittent retraction mode.

Abstract Riveting is the most important method of joining sheet metal and is widely used in the assembly of aircraft components. The perpendicularity error of the holes is unavoidable during automatic drilling and riveting, which has a significant impact on the quality of the assembly. In this paper, the effects of hole perpendicularity error and squeeze force on the interference fit size, interface contact state, microstructure morphology, fatigue life, and fracture form of riveted joints were investigated experimentally. The results show that the interference fit size increases with a greater tilt angle. When the tilt angle is 0°, the rivet shank is in close contact with the inner and outer sheets, and there is no obvious gap at the interface between the rivet and the sheets. As the tilt angle increases to 2° and 4°, a gap appears at the interface of regions 1, 2, and 3, while the rivet shank at region 4 is in close contact with the outer sheet. The fatigue life decreases when the tilt angle increases from 0° to 4°. For the same tilt angle, the fatigue life of riveted joints with a 0° tilt direction is higher than that of riveted joints with a 180° tilt direction. Increasing the squeeze force can to some extent reduce the adverse effect of the tilt angle on the fatigue life. The hole perpendicularity error does not affect the failure form, while the squeeze force has a significant effect on the failure form of the specimens. RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS: The fatigue life of riveted joints decreases as the tilt angle increases. The size of the interfacial gap increases with increasing tilt angle. Higher fatigue life at 0° tilt direction than at 180° tilt direction. Increasing the squeeze force can somewhat reduce the negative effect of tilt angle on fatigue life.

Abstract Objective: To compare the protective effect of Xuebijing injection versus Sivelestat sodium on acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/ARDS) rats.
Methods: A total of 71 male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into the blank control group (n = 8), ALI/ARDS model group (n = 21), Xuebijing injection group (n = 21) and Sivelestat sodium group (n = 21). Rats in the blank control group were injected with normal saline while the other three groups were intravenously injected 25 mg/kg lipopolysaccharide (LPS) via the tail vein to establish ALI/ARDS model. After induction of ALI/ARDS model, the blank control group and ALI/ARDS model group were given intraperitoneal injection of an equal volume of normal saline twice a day. Rats in the Xuebijing injection group were given tail vein injection of 8 mL/kg Xuebijing injection twice a day, and those in the Sivelestat sodium group were given intraperitoneal injection of 100 mg/kg Sivelestat sodium three times a day. All rats were administered continuously for five days. During the experiment, the general status of rats was observed, and the weight and survival were recorded. At the end of the experiment, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) of rats was collected for the detection of inflammatory cells and inflammatory factors. Histopathological changes of rats lung tissue were observed.
Results: Compared with the ALI/ARDS model group, the Xuebijing injection group and Sivelestat sodium group had significantly decreased white blood cell (WBC) count and percent of neutrophil (NEU%) [WBC (×10
Conclusions: Xuebijing injection can alleviate ALI/ARDS-induced lung injury and systemic damage and improve the survival of rats by inhibiting inflammation. The protective effect of Xuebijing injection is essentially consistent with that of Sivelestat sodium.

Abstract Background: The aim was to explore the associations of plasma D-dimers (D-D), homocysteine (HCY), and procalcitonin (PCT) levels with multiple trauma.
Methods: A total of 116 patients were divided into two groups with severe and mild diseases. After 6 months of follow-up, the group with severe disease was divided into survivor and non-survivor groups. The correlations of APACHE II score and simplified acute physiology score II (SAPS II) with D-D, HCY, and PCT levels were subjected to Spearman's analysis. The influencing factors for prognosis were studied using logistic regression analysis, and the values of these levels for prognostic evaluation were explored by plotting receiver operating characteristic curves.
Results: After treatment, the group with severe disease had higher levels of D-D, HCY, PCT, APACHE II score, and SAPS II than those of the group with mild disease (p < 0.05). The non-survivor group had significantly higher levels than those of the survivor group (p < 0.05). The levels of 116 patients with multiple trauma had positive correlations with APACHE II score and SAPS II (p < 0.001). The levels were independent risk factors affecting prognosis. Their combination had high diagnostic value for prognostic evaluation.
Conclusions: The combination of plasma D-D, HCY, and PCT levels seems to be a useful index for the early evaluation of severity and prognostic evaluation of patients with multiple trauma.
