Abstract The results of satellite determinations, the recalculation of geocentric coordinates into topocentric ones, and the technology for creating a reference network and its use for transmitting coordinates to mounting horizons are shown. The article compares the coordinates obtained from satellite determinations without taking into account the deviation of the plumb line with the data on the proposed technology. The results obtained indicate the effectiveness of using the topocentric coordinate system in assessing and monitoring horizontal displacements of high-rise structures. GNSS technology eliminates the disadvantages of traditional methods, especially with the use of plumb lines and sequential sectional measurements, in which errors accumulate. The accuracy of the proposed technology practically does not depend on the height of structures.

Abstract The article proposes the use of a geodetic coordinate frame suitable for the reference plan geodetic networks of Vietnam used in engineering surveys. This framework minimizes distortion in horizontal spacing when going from ellipsoid to plane. In the course of the work, the parameters of the coordinate system and the height of the level surface were selected using the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM). The equations used for the calculations are determined based on theoretical analysis and are easily applied in surveying.

Abstract AbstractThis study analyzes the impact of metropolises on the structural transformation of provinces based on specific metropolises’ characteristics. Moran I index on the share of non-agricultural sectors in the economic structure is firstly employed to examine the spatial autocorrelation between provinces in Vietnam. Furthermore, the relationship between metropolises and the change in the economic structure of provinces is analyzed quantitatively using spatial panel data models based on data from the statistics yearbook of all 63 areas in the period 2015 to 2018. The research results confirm the role of metropolises in the process of structural transformation of the provinces. Provinces with a high proportion of non-agricultural sectors in the economic structure show the concentration around metropolises. The destination for migration, the origin of remittance, and the market for neighboring provinces, are the function of metropolises. These roles are seen as driving forces for off-farm activity through changes in the incomes of neighboring provinces. Accordingly, focusing on specific metropolises characteristics as well as enhancing regional connectivity will contribute to promoting effective provincial structural transformation.

Abstract Mango purée is a byproduct of the current production processes (such as freeze-drying, dehydration) after the product shaping stage or grades II and III mangoes. Currently, fruit bar is a convenient and highly nutritious snack made from fruit. The objective of this study is to utilize mango byproduct in order to develop a fruit bar processing technology, which is based on evaluating the quality (color, break force, vitamin C content, and sensory) when varying the pH of mango purée and the concentration of added pectin. Additionally, total soluble solids (TSS) after blending at 80°C were also investigated. The increase in pH, pectin concentration of mango purée, and TSS after blending showed that vitamin C content in fruit bars tended to decrease. TSS results revealed that at TSS = 63°Bx, pH 3.3, and a pectin concentration of 1.3%, the product received a high rating of 6.3. Additionally, the vitamin C content of the product reached 7.82 mg/100 gDW. The results of this study are expected on the diversification of products from mango. Solving the situation that grades II and III mangoes are difficult to be commercialized and making the most of the byproduct mango flesh after certain production processes.

Abstract (1) Background: In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is imperative for higher education institutions to understand the socio-psychological issues of international students, a potentially vulnerable population on campuses, to assist them in pursuing their academic path while maintaining their psychological well-being. The objectives of this study were to determine the prevalence of academic burnout among international university students in Taiwan during the new normal and to explore the protective role of academic resilience. (2) Methods: Three hundred and eighty-three international university students in Taiwan were recruited and surveyed via the online self-administered questionnaire during the Fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. The data of sociodemographic characteristics, academic burnout, and academic resilience were collected and analyzed. (3) Results: The overall prevalence of high academic burnout was 12.01%. The majority of participants perceived significant depression and anxiety (detrimental factors) but moderate to high perception of academics and relationships (protective factors). There were significant relationships between resilience components and burnout symptoms. (4) Conclusions: Resilience may help to reduce burnout among international university students during the post-COVID-19 new normal, thereby protecting their mental health.

Abstract We study online learning problems in which the learner has extra knowledge about the adversary's behaviour, i.e., in game-theoretic settings where opponents typically follow some no-external regret learning algorithms. Under this assumption, we propose two new online learning algorithms, Accurate Follow the Regularized Leader (AFTRL) and Prod-Best Response (Prod-BR), that intensively exploit this extra knowledge while maintaining the no-regret property in the worst-case scenario of having inaccurate extra information. Specifically, AFTRL achieves $O(1)$ external regret or $O(1)$ \emph{forward regret} against no-external regret adversary in comparison with $O(\sqrt{T})$ \emph{dynamic regret} of Prod-BR. To the best of our knowledge, our algorithm is the first to consider forward regret that achieves $O(1)$ regret against strategic adversaries. When playing zero-sum games with Accurate Multiplicative Weights Update (AMWU), a special case of AFTRL, we achieve \emph{last round convergence} to the Nash Equilibrium. We also provide numerical experiments to further support our theoretical results. In particular, we demonstrate that our methods achieve significantly better regret bounds and rate of last round convergence, compared to the state of the art (e.g., Multiplicative Weights Update (MWU) and its optimistic counterpart, OMWU).

Abstract Modeling and simulations of pandemic dynamics play an essential role in understanding and addressing the spreading of highly infectious diseases such as COVID-19. In this work, we propose a novel deep learning architecture named Attention-based Multiresolution Graph Neural Networks (ATMGNN) that learns to combine the spatial graph information, i.e. geographical data, with the temporal information, i.e. timeseries data of number of COVID-19 cases, to predict the future dynamics of the pandemic. The key innovation is that our method can capture the multiscale structures of the spatial graph via a learning to cluster algorithm in a data-driven manner. This allows our architecture to learn to pick up either local or global signals of a pandemic, and model both the long-range spatial and temporal dependencies. Importantly, we collected and assembled a new dataset for New Zealand. We established a comprehensive benchmark of statistical methods, temporal architectures, graph neural networks along with our spatio-temporal model. We also incorporated socioeconomic cross-sectional data to further enhance our prediction. Our proposed model have shown highly robust predictions and outperformed all other baselines in various metrics for our new dataset of New Zealand along with existing datasets of England, France, Italy and Spain. For a future work, we plan to extend our work for real-time prediction and global scale. Our data and source code are publicly available at https://github.com/HySonLab/pandemic_tgnn
