Abstract Background: People worldwide are concerned with the possibility of climate change, microplastics, air pollution, and extreme weather affecting human health. Countries are implementing measures to reduce environmental impacts. Nurses play a vital role, primarily through Green Teams, in the process of promoting sustainable practices and minimizing the environmental footprint of health care facilities. Despite existing knowledge on this topic, assessing nurses' environmental awareness and behavior, including the barriers they face, is crucial with regard to improving sustainable health care practices.
Aim: To analyze the environmental awareness and behavior of nurses, especially nurse leaders, as members of the Green Team and to identify areas for improvement with regard to the creation of a sustainable environment.
Methods: A sequential mixed-method study was conducted to investigate Spanish nurses. The study utilized an online survey and interviews, including participant observation. An online survey was administered to collect quantitative data regarding environmental awareness and behavior. Qualitative interviews were conducted with environmental nurses in specific regions, with a focus on Andalusia, Spain.
Results: Most of the surveyed nurses (N = 314) exhibited moderate environmental awareness (70.4%), but their environmental behavior and activities in the workplace were limited (52.23% of participants rarely performed relevant actions, and 35.03% indicated that doing so was difficult). Nurses who exhibited higher levels of environmental awareness were more likely to engage in sustainable behaviors such as waste reduction, energy conservation, and environmentally conscious purchasing decisions (p < 0.05). Additionally, the adjusted model indicated that nurses' environmental behavior and activities in the workplace depend on the frequency of their environmental behaviors outside work as well as their sustainable knowledge (p < 0.01). The results of the qualitative study (N = 10) highlighted certain limitations in their daily practices related to environmental sustainability, including a lack of time, a lack of bins and the pandemic. Additionally, sustainable environmental behavior on the part of nursing leadership and the Green Team must be improved.
Conclusions: This study revealed that most nurses have adequate knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to environmental sustainability both inside and outside the workplace. Limitations were associated with their knowledge and behaviors outside of work. This study also highlighted the barriers and difficulties that nurses face in their attempts to engage in adequate environmental behaviors in the workplace. Based on these findings, interventions led by nurses and the Green Team should be developed to promote sustainable behaviors among nurses and address the barriers and limitations identified in this research.

Abstract Environmental awareness of the ecological problems caused by this climate crisis and its impact on global health has been growing globally. Nurses are health care agents that usually hurt the environment and contribute to the unsustainability of the care system. Such behavior is perpetuated without the nurses’ awareness and is even magnified by the current pandemic, jeopardizing the health systems and the Sustainable Development Goals. However, there is no Spanish version of any survey that measures the awareness of these agents, only the Nurses Environmental Awareness Tool (NEAT) is available. The current research presents a unique investigation based on a mixed method, using the Spanish version of the NEAT, also called NEAT-es. The results of the mixed analysis (N = 376), a cognitive interview, and descriptive analysis indicated perfect consistency (Cronbach’s alpha > 0.80), better than the original. The survey validation achieved higher values and can be used to measure environmental awareness in Spain and Spanish-speaking countries.

Abstract Aim: To analyse the current scientific knowledge and research lines focused on environmentally sustainable health systems, including the role of nurses.
Background: There seem to be differences between creating interventions focused on environmentally sustainable health systems, including nurses, and the scarcity of research on this topic, framed on the Sustainable Development Goals.
Methods: A bibliometric analysis was carried out, via three databases (Web of Science, Scopus and Pubmed), and the guideline recommendations were followed to select bibliometric data.
Results: The search resulted in 159 publications, significantly increasing the trends from 2017 to 2021 (p = .028). The most relevant countries in this area were the United States, the United Kingdom and Sweden. Also, the top articles were from relevant journals, indexed in Journal Citation Report, and the first and the second quartiles linked to the nursing field and citations (p < .001).
Conclusion: Education is key to achieving environmentally sustainable health systems via institutions and policies.
Implications for nursing management: There is a lack of experimental data and policies on achieving or maintaining environmentally sustainable health care systems, indicating that nurses have an important role and should be consulted and included in decision-making policies regarding sustainability in the health care systems.

Abstract Purpose: The Neonatal Skin Risk Assessment Scale is the only tool exclusively designed for neonatal populations and it is the most recommended for neonatal skin risk assessment. To date, the NSRAS has been validated in different languages, but an Italian version was lacking. Consequently, the purpose of this study was to translate and to provide a cross-cultural adaptation of the NSRAS into Italian.
Method: The translation and cross-cultural adaptation were conducted following an international instrument translation guideline across five steps: (1)translation, (2)forward translation review, (3)back translation, (4)back-translation review and (5)pre-test. Content validity was measured using the content validity index (CVI), calculating Aiken's coefficient, according to the opinion of an expert group.
Results: The final version approved by the expert committee was well understood by all nurses who participated in the study and has obtained a good face validity and content validity. Expert evaluation provided a CVI-Total of 0.92 [0.85-0.96], with Aiken V values for each item analyzed ranging between 0.85 and 0.97.
Conclusion: The i-NSRAS is a clear, simple, relevant, and unambiguous tool. It is also updated to current knowledge on PUs and evaluates the presence of clinical devices as a risk factor in neonatal population.

    Abstract Background: Overweight and obesity are public health problems that affects the workplace. This paper aims to analyse the effectiveness of workplace health promotion interventions in reducing Body Mass Index (BMI); Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, a systematic review was conducted using PubMed, MEDLINE, and SCOPUS databases. The inverse variance statistical method was used for the meta-analysis with a random effects analysis model and standardised means. The results have been represented by Forest Plots and Funnel Plots graphs; Results: The multicomponent approach had the best results for reducing BMI (-0.14 [-0.24, -0.03], 95% CI;
Conclusions: The multicomponent approach could be an effective intervention to reduce obesity in the working population. However, workplace health promotion programs must be standardised to conduct quality analyses and highlight their importance to workers' well-being.

Abstract The selection of food depends on various factors such as cultural, social, economic and biological. This paper determines the factors associated with dietary patterns in Colombia. It is an observational, descriptive exploratory study collecting secondary data from the National Survey of Nutritional Status of Colombia (ENSIN, 2015) of 16,216 people between 15 and 64 years of age. The variables were the following: area, age range, sex, educational level, high blood pressure arterial hypertension (HTA), diabetes (DM), cancer, wealth quartile and dietary pattern. For the data analysis, logistic regression models were generated for each pattern and OR was used as a measure of association. Of those studied, 74.6% live in urban areas, all were aged between 15 and 49 years and 45.4% were in the first wealth quartile (Q1). There was a greater probability of traditional and conservative dietary patterns in people with diabetes and hypertension. Consumption of the conservative pattern was associated with being a woman, while consumption of the traditional pattern was associated with people in the first and second wealth level. Consumption of grill/beverage was more likely in men. Socio-demographic factors and chronic non-communicable diseases are associated with dietary patterns. This makes it relevant for health professionals to take into account these characteristics for nutritional interventions.

Abstract Background: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a group of metabolic abnormalities characterised by hypertension, central obesity, dyslipidaemia and dysregulation of blood glucose, associated with the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease and overall mortality. The presence of elevated liver enzymes may precede the development of MetS, with alterations of the liver being observed that are directly related to metabolic problems. The study aims to provide the best evidence on the association between liver enzymes (ALT, AST, GGT) and MetS by determining the effect size of these biomarkers.
Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis of studies indexed in PubMed and Scopus databases were performed. Study quality was assessed using the STROBE tool. The Grade Pro tool was used to evaluate the evidence, and the quantitative synthesis was performed using RevMan (Cochrane Collaboration).
Results: Seventeen articles comparing liver enzyme concentrations between 76,686 with MetS (MetS+) and 201,855 without MetS (MetS-) subjects were included. The concentration of ALT, AST and GGT in the MetS + subjects was significantly higher than in the control group 7.13 IU/L (CI95% 5.73-8.54; p < 0.00001; I
Conclusions: The evaluation of the relationship of liver enzymes in the pathophysiological process of MetS could lead to new insights into early diagnosis.

Abstract Cervical cancer is a global public health problem. It is the second leading cause of death among women of childbearing age worldwide. Several factors, including diet, have been shown to influence the risk of persistent HPV infection and tumor progression. This paper determines the relationship between dietary patterns and cervical cancer. It is an ecological study of multiple groups, based on two national sources: the High-Cost Account and the National Survey of Nutritional Situation of Colombia of 2015. The population consisted of 3472 women aged 35 to 64. The incidence of cervical cancer was used as the dependent variable while the independent variables included food consumption according to established patterns, area of residence, age, physical activity, and BMI, among other variables. The statistical analysis performed through associations between variables was evaluated by multiple linear regression using R2. 38.9% of the evaluated population belonged to the first quartile of wealth, and 76.5% resided in the municipal capital. The incidence of cervical cancer in Colombia was associated with being affiliated to a state-subsidized health regime and having diabetes mellitus. A conservative eating pattern, as well as belonging to a rural area, are evidenced as protective factors. These results invite the need to encourage public policies and promote healthy lifestyles.

Abstract Background: The skin of infants has important anatomical and physiological differences from that of children and adults. Because of skin immaturity, reduced mobility, neurological changes, and the need for medical devices, infants are at high risk for pressure injuries. Specific, validated tools are needed to assess the risk of pressure injuries in this population.
Objectives: To assess the psychometric properties of the Italian version of Neonatal Skin Risk Assessment Scale (construct validity, internal consistency and reliability).
Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in the neonatal units of the two Italian hospitals. 200 infants were examined 3 times by 54 nurses to assess the risk of pressure injuries. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were performed jointly to assess construct validity. Internal consistency was analyzed using McDonalds omega coefficient and Cronbach's alpha, while intra and interobserver agreement using Intraclass Correlation Coefficients (ICC).
Results: Exploratory factor analysis confirmed a 2-factor model; the factor "duration and intensity of pressure" explained four subscales (mental state, mobility, activity and nutrition), while "skin immaturity" explained the subscales (general physical condition and skin moisture). Confirmatory factor analysis results indicated good model fits (X2/df = 0.84, p = 0.002, RMSEA = 0, NNFI = 1.01, NFI = 0.98 y CFI = 1 (M1 with MI). The italian-Neonatal Skin Risk Assessment Scale showed a good internal consistency, McDonalds omega coefficient and Cronbach's alpha both 0.86. An excellent intra and inter observer reliability was also observed, ICC 0.99 and 0.98 respectively.
Conclusion: The psychometric characteristics indicate that the italian-Neonatal Skin Risk Assessment Scale is useful, valid and reliable for measuring risk of pressure injuries in the neonatal population.
Implications for clinical practice: This is the first valid and reliable newborn-specific scale that assesses the presence of medical devices. Its use could enable efficient management of preventive resources, early classification of newborns at risk and assignment of preventive interventions, facilitate the development of risk assessment protocols.

Abstract Homelessness is a social and health problem with great repercussions in Europe. Many non-governmental organisations help homeless people by collecting and analysing large amounts of information about them. However, these tasks are not always easy to perform, and hinder other of the organisations duties. The SINTECH project was created to tackle this issue proposing two different tools: a mobile application to quickly and easily collect data; and a software based on artificial intelligence which obtains interesting information from the collected data. The first one has been distributed to some Spanish organisations which are using it to conduct surveys of homeless people. The second tool implements different feature selection and association rules mining methods. These artificial intelligence techniques have allowed us to identify the most relevant features and some interesting association rules from previously collected homeless data.
