Abstract To promote scientific understanding of surface processes in East Asia, we have published details of the CMADS dataset in the journal, Water, and expect that users around the world will learn about CMADS datasets while promoting the development of hydrometeorological disciplines in East Asia. We hope and firmly believe that scientific development in East Asia and our understanding of this typical region will be further advanced

Abstract In the name of safeguarding public interests and ethical principles, China's National Health Commission bans unmarried women from using assisted reproductive technology (ART), including egg freezing. Supported by local governments, the ban has restricted single women's reproductive rights nationwide. Although some courts bypassed the ban to allow widowed single women to use ART, they have not adopted a position in favour of single women's reproductive autonomy, but quite the contrary. Faced with calls to relax the ban and allow single women to freeze eggs electively, the National Health Commission refused to amend their policy, partly to protect women's well-being paternalistically and partly to implement the central government's policies to boost the birthrate and maintain traditional family structures. While the government's concerns about elective egg freezing are not entirely unfounded, they have failed to demonstrate that banning single women's egg freezing is a suitable, necessary and proportionate means to safeguard societal interests and ethical principles. The authority's assumptions that women cannot make rational decisions for their health even with adequate informed consent procedures, that banning egg freezing by single women promotes a culture of having children 'at a proper age', and that egg freezing by single women offends China's public moralities have not been substantiated.

Abstract Objective: The national requirements for the fund management of scientific research projects are becoming more stringent, so that it is convenient to carry out scientific research work and can strengthen the regulation of scientific research reagent procurement, so this study explores the standardization of the whole process of the procurement of scientific research reagent supplies in hospitals and new modes of management.
Methods: By exploring the implementation of the centralized procurement management platform, we engage in full process supervision before, during, and after the event.
Results: Introduction of centralized procurement management platform for scientific research reagent supplies can normalize the procurement process, ensure the quality of procurement and improve the procurement efficiency on the basis of ensuring the quality of scientific research.
Conclusions: The new model of centralized procurement of full process management based on one-stop service for scientific research reagent supplies is an important part of improving the fine scale management of public hospitals, and it is of great significance in improving the level of scientific research in China and avoiding scientific research corruption.

Abstract Fairness is a popular research topic in recent years. A research topic closely related to fairness is bias and debiasing. Among different types of bias problems, position bias is one of the most widely encountered symptoms. Position bias means that recommended items on top of the recommendation list has a higher likelihood to be clicked than items on bottom of the same list. To mitigate this problem, we propose to use regularization technique to reduce the bias effect. In the experiment section, we prove that our method is superior to other modern algorithms.

Abstract Background: China has recently upgraded its anti-sexual harassment laws and regulations. The first-ever Chinese Civil Code, which took effect in 2021, has explicitly defined sexual harassment and imposed affirmative duties on employers to prevent and correct work-related sexual harassment. This study aims to map the status quo of China's anti-sexual harassment legal system and explore its progress and limits in dealing with workplace sexual harassment.
Methods: We reviewed China's anti-sexual harassment laws at the national, provincial, and municipal levels and observed how they were enforced in courts. All judicial cases of workplace sexual harassment published by Chinese courts between January 2021 and June 2022 were examined. From a comparative law perspective, we then identified the progress and drawbacks of China's legislative and judicial responses to workplace sexual harassment.
Results: China's current anti-sexual harassment legal system, while have made commendable progress, has its drawbacks: the definition of sexual harassment remains to be clarified and expanded to make it clear that sexual harassment is a form of gender discrimination and can include hostile environment harassment that is not directed against a specific person; the employer's obligations to prevent and correct sexual harassment need further delineation; employers lack guidelines for establishing a fair and effective grievance procedure; the difficulty of proving sexual harassment in litigation remains unsolved; the employer liability doctrine for sexual harassment lacks clarity; workers not in a traditional employment relationship receive inadequate legal protection from work-related sexual harassment.
Conclusions: The issues mentioned above merit consideration in China's future law revisions and judicial practice. In China and other societies where gender inequality remains high, it is recommended to regulate sexual harassment as a form of discrimination and to set clear compliance standards for employers in preventing and correcting sexual harassment.

Abstract Recommender system exists everywhere in the business world. From Goodreads to TikTok, customers of internet products become more addicted to the products thanks to the technology. Industrial practitioners focus on increasing the technical accuracy of recommender systems while at same time balancing other factors such as diversity and serendipity. In spite of the length of the research and development history of recommender systems, there has been little discussion on how to take advantage of visualization techniques to facilitate the algorithmic design of the technology. In this paper, we use a series of data analysis and visualization techniques such as Takens Embedding, Determinantal Point Process and Social Network Analysis to help people develop effective recommender systems by predicting intermediate computational cost and output performance. Our work is pioneering in the field, as to our limited knowledge, there have been few publications (if any) on visualization of recommender systems.

Abstract Recommender systems serves as an important technical asset in many modern companies. With the increasing demand for higher precision of the technology, more and more research and investment has been allocated to the field. One important sub-field of recommender systems that has been stagnating is context-aware recommender systems. Due to the difficulty of collecting input dataset, the amount of research on context-aware recommender systems is much less than other sub-fields of recommender systems. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm named PowerMat to tackle the context-aware recommendation problem. We build our theory on matrix factorization and Zipf's law, and also more recent research work such as DotMat. We prove by experiments that our method achieves superior results to the classic matrix factorization algorithm and other context-aware recommender systems such as MovieMat+. In addition, by theoretical analysis, we show that our algorithm solves the cold-start problem for context-aware recommendation.

Abstract Topology is the foundation for many industrial applications ranging from CAD to simulation analysis. Computational topology mostly focuses on structured data such as mesh, however unstructured dataset such as point set remains a virgin land for topology scientists. The significance of point-based topology can never be overemphasized, especially in the area of reverse engineering, geometric modeling and algorithmic analysis. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to compute the Betti number for point set data and illustrate its usefulness in real world examples. To the best of our knowledge, our work is pioneering and first of its kind in the fields of computational topology.

Abstract Collaborative filtering is the simplest but oldest machine learning algorithm in the field of recommender systems. In spite of its long history, it remains a discussion topic in research venues. Usually people use users/items whose similarity scores with the target customer greater than 0 to compute the algorithms. However, this might not be the optimal solution after careful scrutiny. In this paper, we transform the recommender system input data into a 2-D social network, and apply kernel smoothing to compute preferences for unknown values in the user item rating matrix. We unifies the theoretical framework of recommender system and non-parametric statistics and provides an algorithmic procedure with optimal parameter selection method to achieve the goal.
