Abstract A spatial co-location pattern denotes a subset of spatial features whose instances frequently appear nearby. High influence co-location pattern mining is used to find co-location patterns with high influence in specific aspects. Studies of such pattern mining usually rely on spatial distance for measuring nearness between instances, a method that cannot be applied to an influence propagation process concluded from epidemic dispersal scenarios. To discover meaningful patterns by using fruitful results in this field, we extend existing approaches and propose a mining framework. We first defined a new concept of proximity to depict semantic nearness between instances of distinct features, thus applying a star-shaped materialized model to mine influencing patterns. Then, we designed attribute descriptors to perceive attributes of instances and edges from time series data, and we calculated the attribute weights via an analytic hierarchy process, thereby computing the influence between instances and the influence of features in influencing patterns. Next, we constructed influencing metrics and set a threshold to discover high influencing patterns. Since the metrics do not satisfy the downward closure property, we propose two improved algorithms to boost efficiency. Extensive experiments conducted on real and synthetic datasets verified the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of our method.

Abstract Sanhuang Xiexin Decoction (SHXD), consisting of Coptis chinensis Franch., Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and Rheum palmatum L., is traditionally used for relieving fever, purging fire for removing toxins, eliminating phlegm and haemostasis, eliminating the wetness-evil from the upper warmer, clearing away the heat-evil and expelling superficial evils. Each of the three herbs contained in SHXD has been indicated to have anti-inflammatory effects in vivo, but its effects on rat NK-cell phenotypes remain unexplored, and the comprehensive mechanism of this compound SHXD in curing the inflammation induced by lipopolysaccharides (LPS) remains to be revealed. The study aim was to assess the effect of SHXD on LPS-induced fever and inflammation in a rat model, reduce NLRP3 activation in NK cells expressing specific cell phenotype antibodies and determine the therapeutic value of this approach in vivo. SHXD extract was prepared and analysed by the developed ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) method for the simultaneous detection of 14 compounds. The main peaks were firstly identified on an Orbitrap via high resolution tandem mass spectrometry (MS). Then, the extract was used in the rat model of LPS-induced inflammation and fever for pharmacologically study the effects of drug treatment. Peripheral blood lymphocyte cells were isolated from the animals, including those subjected to the SHXD extract treatment, and the cell phenotype was determined prior to cell culture and after treating the cell cultures with the extract. The phenotypes of cells harvested using CD3, CD4, CD8a, CD81, CD161 and CD86 antibodies were used to verify the enhanced memory of the peripheral blood lymphocytes cells (PBMC) that were induced into nature killer (NK) cells. The SHXD extract was prepared, analysed and identified via quality control equipment and was observed to have pharmacological effects that reduced NLRP3 activation and fever in rats. The production of NK cells and peripheral blood lymphocytes was induced by the SHXD extract, which manifested as increased levels of CD4⁺, CD8a+, CD81⁺, CD161+ and CD86⁺ cells. The levels of CD3⁺ cells were significantly different between the model group and the drug-treated or control groups (p < 0.01) with dose independence, while the levels of CD4⁺ cells were not significantly different between the drug-treated and control groups, with a trend towards lower levels in the model group with dose independence. The levels of CD4⁺ cells was significantly different between the drug-treated group and the model groups with dose independence (p < 0.05). The levels of CD86⁺ cells were not significantly different between the drug-treated group and the model and control groups. The levels of CD8a + cells was significantly different between the model group and the drug and control groups (p < 0.05, dose 2.0 μg/ml), with higher levels in the drug-treated group. The levels of CD3⁺, CD4⁺, CD8a + cells in the drug treated group have dose dependence with SHXD. This experiment revealed that SHXD reduced NLRP3 activation in the blood of LPS-treated rats, which occurred through the activation of NK cells that expressed CD3, CD8a and CD161. SHXD may possess anti-inflammatory effect via activacting the one of major pharmacology effcet of NK cells that expressed CD3, CD8a and CD161 phenotypes expression. This result demonstrates that SHXD may possess ability to enhance the memory of peripheral blood lymphocytes and natural killer cells.

Abstract This study investigates an alternative utilization of earth-abundant Victorian brown coal (BC) for carbon foam preparation and its application in LIBs. Carbon foams (CFs) from blends of Victorian BC and coal tar pitch (CTP) were synthesized through pressurized pyrolysis. The effects of blending ratio and pyrolytic pressure on pore structure transition were systematically studied by SEM and micro-computed tomography beamline (micro-CT) followed by 3D modeling analysis. Furthermore, catalytic graphitization coupled with air activation were used to tailor the structure of CFs as anodic materials for LIBs. The impacts of carbon microstructure and hierarchical pore structure of CFs on the electrochemical performance of LIBs were investigated. The battery test of porous graphitic CFs exhibited an enhanced LIBs performance of 463.1 mAh/g under the current density of 0.1 A/g compared to CFs without treatments. There was 71.49% retention after 1000 cycles at 1 A/g, and the coulombic efficiency remained at 99.99%.

Abstract Oroxylin A, a flavonoid, is naturally produced in many medicinal plants. Our previous study identified it as a phytoestrogen. Based on this, the present study investigated its vasoconstriction reducing effects and whether the action was mediated by the estrogen receptor (ER) signal pathway. Long-term in vitro treatment with oroxylin A reduced Ach-induced vasorelaxation and NE-mediated or KCl-mediated contractile responses in rat aortic rings. These effects were interfered by an ER inhibitor ICI 182,780. Rat cardiac microvascular endothelial cells (CMECs) and aortic vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) were used to study the possible underlying mechanisms. Oroxylin A activated the ER signal pathway. In CMECs, it increased NO production and eNOS protein expression. In VSMCs, it promoted NO production and iNOS protein expression. These effects were also inhibited by ICI 182,780. Besides, oroxylin A stimulated ER

Abstract Piezoelectric pumps play an important role in modern medical technology. To improve the flow rate of valveless piezoelectric pumps with flow tube structures and promote the miniaturization and integration of their designs, a cardioid flow tube valveless piezoelectric pump (CFTVPP) is proposed in this study. The symmetric dual-bend tube design of CFTVPP holds great potential in applications such as fluid mixing and heat dissipation systems. The structure and working principle of the CFTVPP are analyzed, and flow resistance and velocity equations are established. Furthermore, the flow characteristics of the cardioid flow tube (CFT) are investigated through computational fluid dynamics, and the output performance of valveless piezoelectric pumps with different bend radii is studied. Experimental results demonstrate that CFTVPP exhibits the pumping effect, with a maximum vibration amplitude of 182.5 μm (at 22 Hz, 100 V) and a maximum output flow rate of 5.69 mL/min (at 25 Hz, 100 V). The results indicate that a smaller bend radius of the converging bend leads to a higher output flow rate, while the performance of valveless piezoelectric pumps with different diverging bends shows insignificant differences. The CFTVPP offers advantages such as a high output flow rate, low cost, small size for easy integration, and ease of manufacturing.

Abstract The intelligent fault diagnosis of main circulation pumps is crucial for ensuring their safe and stable operation. However, limited research has been conducted on this topic, and applying existing fault diagnosis methods designed for other equipment may not yield optimal results when directly used for main circulation pump fault diagnosis. To address this issue, we propose a novel ensemble fault diagnosis model for the main circulation pumps of converter valves in voltage source converter-based high voltage direct current transmission (VSG-HVDC) systems. The proposed model employs a set of base learners already able to achieve satisfying fault diagnosis performance and a weighting model based on deep reinforcement learning that synthesizes the outputs of these base learners and assigns different weights to obtain the final fault diagnosis results. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms alternative approaches, achieving an accuracy of 95.00% and an
