    Abstract Previous studies have discussed the impact of the socioeconomically disadvantaged stereotype threat (SDST) on inhibitory control. But the specific influences of the SDST on inhibitory control in different household income groups are not clear. We hypothesized that the SDST had different effects on inhibitory control in individuals with distinct household income, and the attribution of stimuli would influence it as well, especially the currency value of the stimuli. To investigate it, two studies were conducted, which required inhibiting their motor responses. Specifically, Study 1 explored the influence of the SDST on basic inhibitory control. Study 2 analyzed the influence of the SDST on inhibitory control when the input stimuli included currency values and monetary conception. The results revealed that the inhibitory control ability was worse in the lower income group but not during the processing of stimuli with currency value. For the effect of the SDST, it found that there was a negative effect on those with a lower household income and a positive effect on those with a higher household income. Based on the findings, the effect of the SDST on inhibitory control in human beings is not stable; instead, it varies depending on the traits of the stimuli in different tasks and of the individuals themselves.

    Abstract Background: Given China's fast-growing aging population, cognitive decline is a leading public health concern. Eggs are an affordable food rich in several shortfall nutrients that may benefit cognitive health.
    Aim: This study assessed the longitudinal relationship between whole egg consumption and cognition among older adults in China.
    Methods: Individual-level data of 4737 Chinese adults 55+ years came from the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS) 1997-2006 waves. Daily egg consumption was measured using 3-day 24-h dietary recalls. Cognitive functioning was assessed with immediate and delayed recall of a 10-word list, counting backward from 20, and serial 7 subtraction. Multivariate mixed-effects regressions were performed to estimate the longitudinal associations between daily whole egg consumption and cognitive functioning in older Chinese adults.
    Results: Approximately 46% of CHNS participants were whole egg consumers, and their daily intake averaged 47.4 g. The overall cognitive functioning test scores, separate scores for cognitive functioning subdomains, and the prevalence of cognitive impairment at the baseline were modestly higher among whole egg consumers than nonconsumers. However, after adjusting for individual characteristics, multivariate mixed-effects regressions did not find daily whole egg consumption to be associated with cognitive functioning among CHNS participants. By contrast, several demographic and socioeconomic factors, such as age, education attainment, and health insurance coverage, were found to correlate with older Chinese adults' cognition.
    Conclusion: This study has measurement and design limitations. Future research should investigate the causal impact of habitual egg intake on different domains of cognition using experimental designs with an extended follow-up period.

    Abstract Objective: To examine the associations between e-cigarette use or dual (e-cigarette and combustible cigarette) use and short sleep duration and trouble sleeping among U.S. adults.
    Methods: We used 2015-2018 data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) (n = 11,659). E-cigarette use and dual use were categorized as current, former, and never use. Short sleep duration was defined as sleep duration ≤6 h. Trouble sleeping was self-reported. Weighted logistic regression analyses were performed.
    Results: Among those with current e-cigarette use, 53.9 % were with current dual use and 23.8 % were with former dual use. Compared to never e-cigarette use, current e-cigarette use was associated with significantly higher odds of trouble sleeping (OR = 2.16, 95 % CI: 1.49-3.13), adjusting for potential confounders. Significant associations were also observed for former e-cigarette use versus never use with trouble sleeping (OR = 1.54, 95 % CI: 1.15-2.07) after full adjustment. Current cigarette use was associated with both short sleep duration (OR = 1.65, 95 % CI: 1.28-2.14) and trouble sleeping (OR = 1.36, 95 % CI: 1.03-1.79) after full adjustment. Additionally, the fully adjusted ORs for short sleep duration and trouble sleeping were 1.64 (95 % CI: 1.06-2.54) and 2.14 (95 % CI: 1.34-3.42) among those with current dual use, and 1.46 (95 % CI: 1.17-1.81) and 2.11 (95 % CI: 1.66-2.67) among those with former dual use, compared to those without dual use.
    Conclusions: Current cigarette use or dual use is associated with significantly higher odds of short sleep duration and trouble sleeping. Moreover, former e-cigarette use or dual use is associated with increased odds of trouble sleeping.

    Abstract Background: Dynamic Contrast Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DCE-MRI) plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. However, obtaining complete eight temporal images of DCE-MRI requires a long scanning time, which causes patients' discomfort in the scanning process. Therefore, to reduce the time, the multi temporal feature fusing neural network with Co-attention (MTFN) is proposed to generate the eighth temporal images of DCE-MRI, which enables the acquisition of DCE-MRI images without scanning. In order to reduce the time, multi-temporal feature fusion cooperative attention mechanism neural network (MTFN) is proposed to generate the eighth temporal images of DCE-MRI, which enables DCE-MRI image acquisition without scanning.
    Methods: In this paper, we propose multi temporal feature fusing neural network with Co-attention (MTFN) for DCE-MRI Synthesis, in which the Co-attention module can fully fuse the features of the first and third temporal image to obtain the hybrid features. The Co-attention explore long-range dependencies, not just relationships between pixels. Therefore, the hybrid features are more helpful to generate the eighth temporal images.
    Results: We conduct experiments on the private breast DCE-MRI dataset from hospitals and the multi modal Brain Tumor Segmentation Challenge2018 dataset (BraTs2018). Compared with existing methods, the experimental results of our method show the improvement and our method can generate more realistic images. In the meanwhile, we also use synthetic images to classify the molecular typing of breast cancer that the accuracy on the original eighth time-series images and the generated images are 89.53% and 92.46%, which have been improved by about 3%, and the classification results verify the practicability of the synthetic images.
    Conclusions: The results of subjective evaluation and objective image quality evaluation indicators show the effectiveness of our method, which can obtain comprehensive and useful information. The improvement of classification accuracy proves that the images generated by our method are practical.

    Abstract Objective: To synthesize the effects of educational intervention on the screening rate of first-degree relatives of cancer patients.
    Methods: A total of eight Chinese and English databases were searched (PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, Web of Science, Scopus, Medline and China Biology Medicine disc) from the time of library establishment to June 2023, for randomized controlled trials investigating the effects of educational intervention on screening rate of first-degree relatives of cancer patients. Two researchers independently screened and evaluated the quality of studies. RevMan 5.3 software was used to calculate the pooled effect size.
    Results: Thirteen studies involving 5628 participants were chosen to include in the meta-analysis. The results revealed that health education can increase screening rate of first-degree relatives of cancer patients (RR = 1.39, 95% CI = 1.16-1.65, P = 0.0002). The effect shown after short-term follow-up (≤6 months) was insignificant in terms of improving screening rate (RR = 1.46, 95% CI = 0.94-2.26, P = 0.09), but after long-term follow-up (>6 months) the improvement was greater (RR = 1.37, 95% CI = 1.13-1.65, P = 0.002).
    Conclusion: Health education is effective in increasing the screening rate of first-degree relatives of cancer patients. The effect is more evident after long-term than short-term follow-up.

    Abstract Objective: To investigate the diagnostic utility of multimodal ultrasound for fetal bowel dilatation (FBD) in different parts of the bowel and to examine its prognostic potential in FBD.
    Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 86 fetuses with a dilated bowel identified via ultrasound in a 10-month postnatal follow-up. Both two- and three dimensional (2D and 3D, respectively) ultrasound volume imaging were used to characterize dilation across different bowel sections. The optimal intestinal diameter cut-off values for pathological bowel dilatation were determined and a predictive model for neonatal surgery was developed.
    Results: The 86 cases of dilatation were distributed as follows: duodenal (n = 36); jejunum/ileum (n = 35); and colonic (n = 15). Duodenal dilatations presented the earliest during pregnancy compared to the other 2 groups (24.4 versus [vs.] 29 vs. 33.7 weeks respectively; p < 0.05). Cases with small intestinal dilatation were delivered earlier than those with colonic dilatation (p < 0.05). Infants with duodenal dilatation had the lowest birth weight and the highest rate of multi-system abnormalities (30.6% vs. 5.7% vs. 20%; p < 0.001). More than one-half of the multi-system abnormalities had chromosomal abnormalities (multiple, 54% vs. single, 12.5%; p = 0.015). There were 2 stillbirths, 24 induced labors, 44 postnatal surgeries, and 18 normal cases after birth. In predicting adverse neonatal outcomes of jejunum/ileum dilatation using a cut-off value of 15.5 mm small intestine diameter, sensitivity was 81.5%, specificity was 62.5%, and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) was 0.762 (p < 0.05). For colonic dilatation, using a cut-off value of 21.5 mm colon diameter: sensitivity was 83.3%, specificity was 77.8%, and AUC was 0.861 (p < 0.05). In detecting jejunum/ileum and colonic obstruction, 3D ultrasound demonstrated significantly better diagnostic efficiency than 2D ultrasound (p < 0.05). Using the backward stepwise selection method, a predictive model for neonatal surgery in patients with jejunum/ileum and colonic dilatation was established: logit (P) = -1.58 + (2.32 × polyhydramnios) +(2.0 × ascites) +(1.14 × hyperechogenic bowel). The AUC for the prediction model was 0.874 (p < 0.05), with 76% sensitivity and 94.1% specificity.
    Conclusions: Duodenal dilatation occurred earlier, with a higher incidence of chromosomal abnormalities and multi-system abnormalities than dilatation of other parts of the bowel. 3D ultrasound played an important role in the detection of jejunum/ileum and colon obstructions. Clinical signs, including polyhydramnios, ascites, and strong echoes in the intestine, can be used to predict neonatal surgery.

    Abstract Objective: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem-involved, highly heterogeneous autoimmune disease with diverse clinical manifestations. We report an extremely rare case of SLE with severe diffuse myocardial hypertrophy.
    Methods: The patient's echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) results indicated diffuse myocardial hypertrophy. After excluding coronary atherosclerosis, hypertensive cardiomyopathy, drug toxicity, and other causes, the patient was diagnosed with SLE-specific cardiomyopathy. Medications such as hormones, antimalarials, immunosuppressants, and biologics were administered.
    Results: Ancillary test results were as follows: hs-cTnI: 0.054 ng/mL (0-0.016); NTproBNP: 1594.0 pg/mL (<150); A contrast-enhanced CMR revealed the diffuse thickening of the left ventricular wall with multiple abnormal enhancements, reduced left ventricular systolic and diastolic function, and moderate amount of pericardial effusion. Endomyocardial myocardial biopsy was performed, showing cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and degeneration, and no changes in myocarditis or amyloidosis. The pathology viewed by electron microscopy showed increased intracellular glycogen in the myocardium, and no hydroxychloroquine-associated damage in the myocardium. The 24-h ambulatory blood pressure and contrast-enhanced computed tomography of coronary arteries were normal. The diagnosis of SLE-specific cardiomyopathy was clear. The myocardial hypertrophy showed reversible alleviation following treatment with high-dose corticosteroids. CMR results before and after treatment were as follows: interventricular septum, pretreatment (28) versus post-treatment (22) mm; left ventricular inferior wall, pretreatment (18-21) versus post-treatment (12-14) mm; left ventricular lateral wall, pretreatment (17-18) versus post-treatment (10-12) mm; pericardial effusion (left ventricular lateral wall), pretreatment (25) versus post-treatment (12) mm; left ventricular ejection fraction, pretreatment (38.9%) versus post-treatment (66%).
    Conclusion: Myocardial hypertrophy may be an important sign of active and prognostic assessment in SLE diagnosis and management. Similarly, when encountering cases of myocardial hypertrophy, the possibility of autoimmune disease should be considered in addition to common causes.
