Abstract This book outlines the essential knowledge required for the management of critically ill and severely injured children. It is designed to facilitate successful completion of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Board Examination of the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). Each chapter follows a Question & Answer format, covering major areas in pediatrics such as cardiology, dermatology, nephrology, surgery and trauma. The book concludes with a comprehensive practice test, allowing it to function as a well-rounded reference and study guide. Prepare for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Board Examination is an essential resource for any clinician or trainee seeking a concise review of how to manage critically ill and severely injured children.

Abstract The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the criticality of timely intervention in a situation exacerbated by a shortage in medical staff and equipment. Pain-level screening is the initial step toward identifying the severity of patient conditions. Automatic recognition of state and feelings help in identifying patient symptoms to take immediate adequate action and providing a patient-centric medical plan tailored to a patient's state. In this paper, we propose a framework for pain-level detection for deployment in the United Arab Emirates and assess its performance using the most used approaches in the literature. Our results show that a deployment of a pain-level deep learning detection framework is promising in identifying the pain level accurately.

Abstract Plant growth and development is adversely affected by environmental constraints, particularly salinity and drought. Climate change has escalated the effect of salinity and drought on crops in varying ways, affecting agriculture and most importantly crop productivity. These stressors influence plants across a wide range of levels, including their morphology and physiological, biochemical, and molecular processes. Plant responses to salinity and drought stress have been the subject of intense research being explored globally. Considering the importance of the impact that these stresses can have on agriculture in the short term, novel strategies are being sought and adopted in breeding programs. Better understanding of the molecular, biochemical, and physiological responses of agriculturally important plants will ultimately help promote global food security. Moreover, considering the present challenges for agriculture, it is critical to consider how we can effectively transfer the knowledge generated with these approaches in the laboratory to the field, so as to mitigate these adversities. The present collection discusses how drought and salinity exert effects on plants.

Abstract Prothrombin gene mutation (prothrombin thrombophilia) is an inherited disorder that increases the risk of venous thrombosis. However, limited data exist on the risk of arterial stroke in an at-risk population. Several meta-analyses report slightly increased risk in specific populations. We report a 10-year-old Hispanic girl who presented to the emergency department with a seizure. This seizure occurred five days after she tripped and fell without any initial associated symptoms. She had left-sided hemiparesis on physical examination after the seizure. Imaging revealed internal carotid artery (ICA) dissection with thrombus, right caudate nucleus and putamen infarcts, and ischemic penumbra. She subsequently had an endovascular thrombectomy of the right ICA with reperfusion. Genetic testing showed a prothrombin gene mutation (G20210A). Prothrombin gene mutation was the most likely explanation for her stroke in the absence of a significant risk factor for arterial thrombosis or an underlying hypercoagulable disorder. Further investigations are required to determine the risks and evaluate the correlation between prothrombin gene mutation and ischemic stroke in children.

Abstract Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), due to their mutagenic, carcinogenic, and teratogenic potential, can lead to numerous chronic and fatal diseases. PAHs have been found in several wastewater streams, including “produced water,” which is wastewater generated during the extraction of oil and gas. The PAHs’ removal from produced water using physical, chemical, biological, and combined methods is crucial. Water is a vital ecosystem component and is extremely vulnerable to PAHs. This article reviews the current PAH situation, including their physical and chemical properties, types, characteristics, and removal methods from produced water. The mechanism of each method of removal of PAHs has been discussed. The current study results show that adsorption by nanoparticles and integrated methods are promising methods to meet the strict authoritarian limit with advanced increase potential in the direction of commercialization for the removal of PAHs and provide opportunities to use produced water as a source of water. The current study results can help the policy/decision makers in the efficient management of water resources.

Abstract Cyber Security is one of the most arising disciplines in our modern society. We work on Cybersecurity domain and in this the topic we chose is Cyber Security Ontologies. In this we gather all latest and previous ontologies and compare them on the basis of different analyzing factors to get best of them. Reason to select this topic is to assemble different ontologies from different era of time. Because, researches that included in this SLR is mostly studied single ontology. If any researcher wants to study ontologies, he has to study every single ontology and select which one is best for his research. So, we assemble different types of ontology and compare them against each other to get best of them. A total 24 papers between years 2010-2020 are carefully selected through systematic process and classified accordingly. Lastly, this SLR have been presented to provide the researchers promising future directions in the domain of cybersecurity ontologies.
