Abstract Abstract In this study, the strength characteristics, deformation characteristics and damage characteristics of three kinds of specimens, namely, surrounding rock, cemented paste backfill (CPB) and a surrounding rock-CPB combination, were studied by uniaxial compression testing using rice husk ash and slag as cementing materials, and the mechanical properties of the combination specimens with different height ratios were also analyzed. The results showed that the surrounding rock specimens were the strongest, followed by the composite body, and the CPB was the weakest. The relationship between different height ratios of the assemblage and the cut line modulus was found according to the fitted curves. The CPB specimens and the surrounding rock specimens showed ductile damage, while the assemblage specimens showed brittle damage.

Abstract Sodium ion insertion plays a critical role in developing robust sodium-ion technologies (batteries and hybrid supercapacitors). Diffusion coefficient values of sodium (DNa+) in tin phosphide between 0.1 V and 2.0 V vs. Na/Na+ are systematically determined by galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and potentiostatic intermittent titration technique (PITT). These values range between 4.55 × 10−12 cm2 s−1 and 1.94 × 10−8 cm2 s−1 and depend on the insertion/de-insertion current and the thickness of the electrode materials. Additionally, DNa+ values differ between the first and second cation insertion because of the solid electrolyte interface (SEI) formation. DNa+ vs. insertion potential alters non-linearly in a “W” form due to the strong interactions of Na+ with tin phosphide particles. The results reveal that GITT is a more appropriate electrochemical technique than PITT and EIS for evaluating DNa+ in tin phosphide.

Abstract Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. The high mortality might be attributed to delay in detection and is closely related to lymph node metastasis. Therefore, it is of great importance to explore the mechanism of lymph node metastasis and find strategies to block GC metastasis. Messenger RNA (mRNA), microRNA (miRNA) and long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) expression data and clinical data were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. A total of 908 differentially expressed factors with variance >0.5 including 542 genes, 42 miRNA, and 324 lncRNA were screened using significant analysis microarray algorithm, and interaction networks were constructed using these differentially expressed factors. Furthermore, we conducted functional modules analysis in the network, and found that yellow and turquoise modules could separate samples efficiently. The groups classified in the yellow and turquoise modules had a significant difference in survival time, which was verified in another independent GC mRNA dataset (GSE62254). The results suggested that differentially expressed factors in the yellow and turquoise modules may participate in lymph node metastasis of GC and could be applied as potential biomarkers or therapeutic targets for GC.

Abstract Kaempferol (KP), as a natural anti-inflammatory compound, has been reported to have curative effects on alleviating senile osteoporosis (SOP), which is an inflammation-related musculoskeletal disease, but the molecular mechanisms remain unclear due to scanty relevant studies. We predicted the targets of KP and SOP, and the common targets of them were subsequently used to carry out PPI analysis. Moreover, we adopted GO and KEGG enrichment analysis and molecular docking to explore potential mechanisms of KP against SOP. There were totally 152 KP-related targets and 978 SOP-related targets, and their overlapped targets comprised 68 intersection targets. GO enrichment analysis showed 1529 biological processes (p<0.05), which involved regulation of inflammatory response, oxidative stress, regulation of bone resorption and remodeling, osteoblast and osteoclast differentiation, etc. Moreover, KEGG analysis revealed 146 items including 44 signaling pathways (p<0.05), which were closely linked to TNF, IL-17, NF-kappa B, PI3K-Akt, MAPK, estrogen, p53, prolactin, VEGF, and HIF-1 signaling pathways. By means of molecular docking, we found that kaempferol is bound with the key targets’ active pockets through some connections such as hydrogen bond, pi-alkyl, pi-sigma, pi-pi Stacked, pi-pi T-shaped, and van der Waals, illustrating that kaempferol has close combination with the key targets. Collectively, various targets and pathways involve in the process of kaempferol treatment against SOP through regulating inflammatory response, oxidative stress, bone homeostasis, etc. Moreover, our study first reported that kaempferol may regulate core targets’ expression with involvement of inflammatory response, oxidative stress, and bone homeostasis, thus treating SOP.

Abstract Chemical modification and graft copolymerization were commonly adopted to prepare super absorbent materials. However, physical microstructure of pure chitosan film was optimized to improve the water uptake capacity in this study. Chitosan films with micro-nanostructure were prepared by a ternary solvent system. The optimal process parameters are 1% acetic acid water solution: dioxane: dimethyl sulfoxide=90: 2.5: 7.5 (v/v/v) with chitosan concentration at 1.25% (w/v). The water uptake capacity of the chitosan film prepared under the optimal process parameters was 896g/g. The prepared chitosan films also exhibited high water uptake capacity in response to external stimuli such as temperature, pH and salt. This finding may provide another way for improving the water absorbency. The pure chitosan film may find potential applications especially in the fields of hygienic products and biomedicine due to its super water absorbency and nontoxicity.

Abstract With the development of economy and the progress of science, the proportion of electrified railway load in the power gird has been keeping on increasing, which impacts the short-term forecasting in load a lot, therefore, it is very important to analyze short-term load of electrified railway forecasting. This paper analyzes the power gird load-forecasting considering the influence of the electrified railway load, and introduces wavelet mechanism for data processing based on the research of electrified railway load. The wavelet-extreme learning machine algorithm is proposed and used in the short-term forecast in load of electric railway on the platform of MATLAB. The application in the local electric power company indicates that the wavelet-extreme learning mechanism model has the features of accurate prediction, quick response, and strong practicability

Abstract As flocculant plays an important role in wastewater treatment, searching for high efficient and cost-effective flocculants has always become the challenge in chemical industry. In the current work, lignosulfonate–acrylamide–chitosan ternary copolymer was designed and prepared as a new kind of flocculant. The elemental analysis and structure characterization of FTIR and XRD showed that acrylamide successfully grafted onto the two natural polymers and amorphous macromolecules were formed. The natural polymers-based flocculant was water soluble and pH independent. As it had multiple functional groups from the raw materials, the amphoteric flocculant showed high color removal efficiency to anionic (acid blue 113, >95%), neutral (reactive black 5, >95%) and cationic dyes (methyl orange, >50%) in a wide range of flocculant dosage and pH windows. The ternary flocculant, based on lignosulfonate, chitosan, and acrylamide, might be a promising material in practical applications from the perspective of cost, source and performance.

Abstract Naringin (NG), as the most abundant component of Drynariae Rhizoma (Chinese name: Gusuibu), has been proved to be an antioxidant flavonoid on promoting osteoporotic fracture (OF) healing, but relevant research is scanty on the underlying mechanisms. We adopted target prediction, protein-protein interaction (PPI) analysis, Gene Ontology (GO) analysis, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis, and molecular docking to establish a system pharmacology database of NG against OF. Totally 105 targets of naringin were obtained, including 26 common targets with OF. A total of 415 entries were obtained through GO Biological Process enrichment analysis (P<0.05), and 37 entries were obtained through KEGG pathway enrichment analysis with seven signaling pathways included (P<0.05), which were primarily concerned with p53, IL-17, TNF, estrogen, and PPAR signaling pathways. According to the results of molecular docking, naringin is all bound in the active pockets of the core targets with 3–9 hydrogen bonds through some connections such as hydrophobic interactions, Pi-Pi stacked interactions, and salt bridge, demonstrating that naringin binds tightly to the core targets. In general, naringin may treat OF through multiple targets and multiple pathways via regulating oxidative stress, etc. Notably, it is first reported that NG may regulate osteoclast differentiation and oxidative stress through the expression of the core targets so as to treat OF.
