Abstract Background: The literature shows a fairly coherent picture of the types of difficulties parents face. Adaptive both coping styles and resources, such as self-compassion and ego-resiliency, indicated as important predictors of the quality of life among parents of children with autism spectrum disorder. The aim of the study was to determine the links between self-compassion and ego-resiliency, coping with stress and quality of life among parents of children with autism spectrum disorder in a Polish sample (
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted. The CISS, Self-Compassion Scale-Short, Ego-Resiliency Scale, and Quality of Life Questionnaire were used.
Results: Regression analysis was carried out to address the research question. It was confirmed that both resources studied exhibited negative relations with emotion-oriented coping, while ego-resiliency was also positively correlated with task- and avoidance-oriented strategies. The hierarchical multiple regression conducted in three steps indicated that ego-resiliency (18%) and emotion-oriented (14%) were the strongest predictors of quality of life among parents of children with ASD.
Conclusions: The obtained results proved that ego-resiliency and a task-oriented coping strategy were important indicators of the quality of life of parents of children with ASD.

    Abstract S.191-198

Modern multi-nation military communication and information systems demand rapid deployment and reconfiguration to enable secure information exchange between domains belonging to different nations. In order to support such a multi-nation mission scenarios NATO has been developing the concept of a federated mission network (FMN). These networks are leveraging the advantages of software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) to adapt to a wide range of security requirements using network security functions (NSF). The investigation reported in this paper discusses two use cases, namely how to automate security policy evaluation, and how to deploy a security guard (Information Exchange Function) between network segments with different classification. Both cases use network scenarios from protected core network (PCN) because the goal is to compile open challenges to automate the deployment and management of secure coalition networks.

Abstract The risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in the oncology population is significantly higher than in non-cancer patients. Inferior vena cava (IVC) filters may, therefore, be an important part of VTE treatment. In this study, we address the outcomes of placing IVC filters in the oncology population. This single-centre, observational, retrospective study included 62 patients with active malignancy and acute VTE who underwent an IVC filter implantation due to contraindications to anticoagulation during the period 2012-2023. The control group consisted of 117 trauma patients. In both groups, an urgent surgical procedure requiring temporary cessation of anticoagulation was the most noted reason for IVC filter placement-76% in the oncology group vs. 100% in the non-oncology group (

Abstract Introduction: The risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients with cancer is currently 12 times higher than in the general population, and even 23 times higher when they receive chemotherapy. The main goal of the pulmonary embolism response team at the Center for the Management of Pulmonary Embolism (PERT‑CELZAT) is to improve prognosis through interdisciplinary care, with a particular focus on patients with contraindications to standard pharmacologic treatment, requiring individual decision‑making, including a wider use of interventional therapeutic methods.
Objectives: The objectives of the study were to report and compare the characteristics and outcomes of pulmonary embolism (PE) in patients with and without cancer treated by the PERT‑CELZAT.
Patients and methods: The analysis included 235 patients diagnosed with VTE who were consulted by local PERT between September 2017 and December 2021. The study group was divided into 2 cohorts: oncologic patients (OP) and nononcologic patients (NOP). There were 81 patients in the OP group (mean [SD] age, 66.2 [14.1] years) and 154 patients in the NOP group (mean age, 57.4 [17.4] years).
Results: The OPs were older and more frequently diagnosed with incidental PE. In‑hospital mortality for all patients reached 6.4% (15/235), 3.7% in the OP and 7.8% in the NOP group (P = 0.27). In‑hospital events, such as major bleeding, minor bleeding, recurrent PE, and deep venous thrombosis occurred with similar frequency in both groups. Posthospital mortality up to 12 months after the PE diagnosis was 12.8% (10/78) in the OP and 4.2% (6/142) in the NOP group (P = 0.03). In a long‑term survival analysis, cancer was associated with increased risk of mortality (hazard ratio, 2.44 [95% CI, 1.51-3.95]; P <0.001) when adjusted for age.
Conclusions: The multidisciplinary therapeutic approach may provide the OPs with VTE an in‑hospital survival rate noninferior to that of the NOPs. The OPs died more often in the following months, because of their underlying neoplastic disease.

Abstract One of the most important factors in determining sustainable development of using a transport system is in its efficiency, and there are a number of indicators which can be considered to this end. The aim of this paper is to assess and evaluate such efficiencies, their indicators and the extent to which implementing sustainable development and sustainable transportation is feasible within the transportation system within the trade and manufacturing industry. To this end, the authors determine efficiency as a ratio between expenditure and resources, versus the effects of the realised transportation process. The first chapter introduces the transportation system and any specific terms discussed in this paper. The second chapter describes the source material used for the subject of sustainable development and sustainable transportation. The third chapter details the analyses of the transportation system as processed based upon the technical and economic indicators. The penultimate chapter compares existing and proposed alternative logistical solutions for profitability employing heuristically applied methods. And finally, the fifth chapter summarises the calculations and considerations from which the thesis' conclusions are drawn. The authors also propose potential aspects for the development of the areas discussed in this paper.

    1052

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become one of the defining technology trends of the last decade. It has also attracted the attention of military technology innovators as a means to gain information dominance in the battlespace through improved situational awareness. Conducted as part of the NATO research task group IST-176 on 'Federated Interoperability of Military C2 and IoT Systems', this research investigates a secure approach to connect heterogeneous assets that rely on widely used and standardized technologies. To demonstrate the approach, a set of planned experiments is presented in which systems from different nations are connected in a federated environment. The results of the experiments aim to demonstrate the feasibility of integrating battlefield assets, including soldier systems and IoT devices, to support collective C2.

Abstract Background Antazoline mesylate represents an antihistamine capable of rapid and safe cardioversion of atrial fibrillation, yet evidence concerning its efficacy in comparison to other medications is insufficient. The study aimed to evaluate the success rate and safety of pharmacological cardioversion of atrial fibrillation with intravenous antazoline ( CANT [Cardioversion With Antazoline Mesylate] study) in the setting of the emergency department. Methods and Results After reviewing 1984 medical records, 450 eligible patients (22.7%) with short-duration atrial fibrillation subject to pharmacological cardioversion were enrolled in a retrospective observational analysis. The choice of antiarrhythmic drug was left to the discretion of the attending physician. The primary end point was successful cardioversion in the emergency department. The safety end point comprised bradycardia <45 bpm, hypotension, syncope, or death. The study population (mean age, 65.5±11.9 years; 52.9% females) was characterized by a median atrial fibrillation episode duration of 10 hours. Antazoline, alone or in combination, was administered in 24.2% (n=109) and 40% (n=180), respectively; amiodarone was administered in 46.7% and propafenone in 9.3%, while ≥2 antiarrhythmic drugs were administered in 19.8% of patients. Antazoline had the highest success rate of pharmacological cardioversion among all drugs (85.3%), which was comparable with propafenone (78.6%; relative risk, 1.09, 95% confidence interval, 0.91-1.30; P=0.317) and higher than amiodarone treatment (66.7%; relative risk, 1.28, 95% confidence interval, 1.13-1.45; P<0.001; number needed to treat, 5.4). The rate of cardioversion with antazoline alone was higher than combined amiodarone and/or propafenone (68.1%; relative risk, 1.25; 95% confidence interval, 1.12-1.40, P=0.0001). No safety end points were reported in the antazoline group, while 5 incidents occurred in the non-antazoline cohort ( P=0.075). Conclusions Antazoline represents an efficacious and safe method of pharmacological cardioversion in a real-life setting.
