Abstract In [1], the authors proposed a new model of DNA storage system that integrates all three steps of retrieval and introduced the concept of DNA-correcting codes, which guarantees that the output of the storage system can be decoded to the original data. They also gave necessary and sufficient conditions for DNA-correcting codes when the data part is free of errors. In this paper, we generalize their results to the general case.

Abstract Cyclodextrin glucosyltransferase (CGTase) is an enzyme which degrades starch to produce cyclodextrins (CDs). In this study, the β-CGTase producing strain T1 was identified as Bacillus sp. by its morphological characteristics and 16S rDNA sequence analysis. The cgt-T1 gene was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. CGTase-T1 was purified by Ni-nitrilotriacetic acid agarose column and the molecular weight was determined as approximately 75 kDa using SDS-PAGE analysis. For the expression of soluble proteins, the optimal induction conditions were 10 h at 25 °C with OD₆₀₀ at 0.8. The purified CGTase-T1 exhibited maximum activity with an optimal pH and temperature of 6.0 and 65 °C. The enzyme was stable in a pH range of 7.0–10.0, retaining over 85% relative activity for 1 h. CGTase-T1 activity can be significantly enhanced by adding 1 mM Ba²⁺. Using a soluble starch substrate, the kinetic parameters were revealed with KM and kcₐₜ/KM values of 2.75 mg mL⁻¹ and 1253.97 s⁻¹ mL mg⁻¹, respectively. Additionally, the four enzyme activities of CGTase-T1 were determined. The highest conversion rate to CDs (40.9%) was achieved from soluble starch after 8 h of enzyme reaction, where mainly β-CD was produced (79.1% of the total CDs yield), indicating that CGTase-T1 potentially has industrial application prospect.

Abstract The rumen of ruminants contains a variety of fungi with function of producing xylanases to break down plant cell walls. In this study, a new glycoside hydrolase family 10 (GH10) xylanase gene ArXyn10c20 from anaerobic rumen microorganism Anaeromyces robustus was successfully synthesized and expressed in Pichia pastoris GS115, with a protein molecular weight of approximately 42 kDa. The optimum pH and temperature for ArXyn10c20 were 5.5 and 40 ℃. ArXyn10c20 was stable in the pH range 5.0–9.0, retaining over 75.0% relative activity for 1 h. The activity of recombinant xylanase was significantly enhanced by 1 mM Cu²⁺. The products of ArXyn10c20 hydrolysis of beechwood xylan were xylobiose, xylotriose and xylotetraose by thin-layer chromatography analysis. In food applications, ArXyn10c20 can significantly improve the quality of dough and bread. With the addition of 420 U of ArXyn10c20 per 100 g flour, the hardness, gumminess and chewiness of the bread decreased by 42.2%, 45.3%, and 55.4%, respectively, and the reducing sugar increased by 18.7%. The new discovered xylanase ArXyn10c20 has great potential in food industry.

Abstract The circular external difference family and its strong version, which themselves are of independent combinatorial interest, were proposed as variants of the difference family to construct new unconditionally secure non-malleable threshold schemes. In this paper, we present new results regarding the construction and non-existence of (strong) circular external difference families, thereby solving several open problems on this topic.

Abstract In this paper, we employ general results on the value distributions of perfect nonlinear functions from $\mathbb{F}_{p^m}$ to $\mathbb{F}_p$ together with a specific group action to give a unified approach to determining the weight distributions of two classes of linear codes over $\mathbb{F}_p$ constructed from perfect nonlinear functions, where $p$ is an odd prime number and $m\in\mathbb{N}_+$.

Abstract In this paper, the influence of E-glass fiber volume fraction and laying angle on the damping and strength of composite laminates was comprehensively analyzed. By increasing the fiber laying angle and reducing the glass fiber volume fraction, the damping capacity of the composite laminate was increased, but the tensile strength of the laminate was reduced; By reducing the fiber laying angle and increasing the glass fiber volume fraction, the tensile strength of the composite laminate was increased, but the damping characteristics of the laminate was reduced. In addition, in the damping experiment of composite laminates, in order to avoid the influence of external damping sources, the vacuum non-contact damping test method was adopted in this paper, and the influence of air damping on the damping experiment results of composite laminates was comparatively analyzed. The results of comparative experiments showed that air damping had a very obvious influence on the damping of composite laminates, especially when the damping of composite laminates was small, the influence of air damping would be greater.

Abstract It is difficult to optimize the fault model parameters when Extreme Random Forest is used to detect the electric pitch system fault model of the double-fed wind turbine generator set. Therefore, Extreme Random Forest which was optimized by improved grey wolf algorithm (IGWO-ERF) was proposed to solve the problems mentioned above. First, IGWO-ERF imports the Cosine model to nonlinearize the linearly changing convergence factor α to balance the global exploration and local exploitation capabilities of the algorithm. Then, in the later stage of the algorithm iteration, α wolf generates its mirror wolf based on the lens imaging learning strategy to increase the diversity of the population and prevent local optimum of the population. The electric pitch system fault detection method of the wind turbine generator set sets the generator power of the variable pitch system as the main state parameter. First, it uses the Pearson correlation coefficient method to eliminate the features with low correlation with the electric pitch system generator power. Then, the remaining features are ranked by the importance of the RF features. Finally, the top N features are selected to construct the electric pitch system fault data set. The data set is divided into a training set and a test set. The training set is used to train the proposed fault detection model, and the test set is used for testing. Compared with other parameter optimization algorithms, the proposed method has lower FNR and FPR in the electric pitch system fault detection of the wind turbine generator set.

Abstract Phosphorus removal is a crucial aspect of controlling water pollution and eutrophication. In this study, the preparation of lanthanum carbonate (LC) nano-adsorbents for the efficient removal of phosphate (P) from water and wastewater was investigated. Results from XRD, SEM and Zeta potential analyses revealed that addition of magnesium ions and adjustment of the reaction temperature could control the morphology and microstructure of LC. Effects of initial pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time, and the water matrix on P adsorption were investigated. Batch adsorption experiments revealed that LC showed strong performance on P removal over a wide pH range (3.0 to 11.0). The kinetic data followed a pseudo-second-order model, and equilibrium data were well fitted by the Langmuir model with a maximum adsorption capacity of 112.9 mg P/g. Adsorption thermodynamics showed that the adsorption process was exothermic and spontaneous. Results of a monolayer model for single adsorption indicated that P could completely interact with two or more functional groups from the LC surface. In the presence of competing ions (F
