Abstract Morita therapy is known as a psychotherapy grounded in the culture of Japan, particularly its Buddhist culture. Its popularity in Japan and other East Asian countries is cited as an example of the relevance and importance of culture and religion in psychotherapy. To complement such interpretations, this study adopts a socio-historical approach to examine the role and significance of work in Morita's theory and practice within the broader work environment and culture of the 1920s and 1930s in Japan. Morita conceptualized shinkeishitsu as a personality disease and a social illness caused by an alienating work environment. He proposed a remedy that emphasized the subjective emotional experience of work. To his primarily middle-class clients and readers, Morita's reconciliation between the self and society and that between autonomy and compliance was persuasive and useful, providing a philosophy whereby they could integrate into the work environment without loss of self-worth. The socio-historical character of Morita therapy is vital to understanding its power and appeal during Morita's time. Moreover, it sheds light on the complex interrelationships between work, mental health, and society.

Abstract The overarching purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of health education, media campaigns, and peer counselor training on employees' health. This study also attempted to evaluate the function of tobacco control as a mediator in the relationship between employees' health and health education, media campaigns, and peer counselor training. Data were collected from 440 tobacco industry workers in China using a questionnaire technique. Smart-PLS software and a structural equation modeling (SEM) technique were used to evaluate the data. Employees' health was found to be significantly improved by health education, media campaigns, and peer counselor training. Furthermore, tobacco control was discovered to moderate the association between employee health and health education, media campaigns, and peer counselor training. By analyzing the impact of health education, media campaigns, and peer counselor training on employees' health, this research provided an important theoretical contribution. In terms of practical applications, this study would help employees consuming tobacco to maintain a healthy and safe atmosphere that encourages them to be engaged and perform well. Furthermore, this study could prove effective in resolving difficulties linked to controlling employee tobacco addiction and improving their performance. The tiny sample size of this study, which included solely employees working in the Chinese tobacco sector, was one of its limitations. In addition, future studies can incorporate other constructs to acquire a deeper knowledge of the factors that influence employees' health.

Abstract In order to solve the problem of news communication innovation in the financial media environment, meet the update needs of news communication in the financial media environment, and make up for the shortcomings of the application of emerging media technologies in news communication, it is necessary to improve people's attention to news communication. With the advent of the era of integrated media, the application of emerging media technologies such as data news and robot news to the field of news communication has shaken the status of TV news in communication and affected its news production mode, but it will not replace traditional news, become the "forced mechanism" of traditional news production reform, and boost its reform and promotion. According to the social survey of 100 people, it is found that 88 people believe that under this competition mode, the development and challenges of TV livelihood news coexist. As Yu Guoming, a professor at Renmin University of China, said, "people's livelihood news is in the process of becoming a butterfly." TV people's livelihood news practitioners should reshape their news ideals and establish Internet thinking to face the ever-changing communication ecological environment. From channel expansion to content integration, from serving users to public opinion guidance, we are committed to building a new mainstream media with the guidance of traditional TV media, content advantages, equal communication, real-time interaction, and distinctive personality of new media. Only in this way can we obtain enough voice and influence in the highly competitive media environment.

Abstract Psychotherapy had developed into a dynamic and diverse field in pre-war Japan. Apart from thousands of spiritually oriented lay psychotherapists, there were a few quasi-professional practitioners who insisted on a rational approach and experimented with a variety of psychotherapeutic methods. Among them was Kokyō Nakamura, whose quest for a viable psychotherapeutic method is intriguing and illuminating. This paper examines the evolution of Nakamura's theories and practices by dividing it into three stages: hypnotic suggestion, psychoanalysis, and Morita therapy. His pragmatic and adaptive approach to psychotherapy provides not only an interesting example for studying the spread of psychotherapy across nations and cultures, but also valuable clues to understanding its nature as a body of knowledge and therapeutic method.

Abstract Background/purpose: Burning mouth syndrome (BMS) occurs more frequently in middle-aged or elderly patients, especially the older female patients. It may relate to multiple medications in the older people. This study aimed to evaluate the association of polypharmacy with BMS.
Materials and methods: Eighty BMS patients aged from 45 to 80 years were recruited into this study, and their medical data, especially the medication records, were collected and analyzed to assess the association of polypharmacy with BMS.
Results: Of the 80 BMS patients, 14 did not take any medication, 38 took 1-4 medicines, 17 took 5-8 medicines, and 11 took ≥9 medicines. The mean number of medicines taken by each BMS patient is 4.49. For the 80 BMS patients, the mean number of medicines taken by each BMS patient was significantly higher in the older age group (7.00 ± 7.76; age ≥65 years; n = 31) than in the relatively younger age group (2.90 ± 2.95; age 45-64 years; n = 49) (
Conclusion: Our findings suggest that multiple medications (polypharmacy) may play an important role in the development of BMS, especially for the older female BMS patients.

Abstract Background/purpose: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is generally considered as an oral potentially malignant disorder (OPMD). Previous studies have shown significantly higher serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), squamous cell carcinoma-antigen (SCC-Ag), and ferritin levels in patients with OPMDs such as oral submucous fibrosis, oral leukoplakia, oral erythroleukoplakia, or oral verrucous hyperplasia. This study aimed to evaluate whether there were significantly higher serum levels and positive rates of CEA, SCC-Ag, and ferritin in OLP patients than in healthy control subjects.
Materials and methods: The serum CEA, SCC-Ag, and ferritin levels in 106 OLP patients and 187 healthy control subjects were measured and compared. Patients with serum CEA level ≥3 ng/mL, SCC-Ag level ≥2 ng/mL, and ferritin level ≥250 ng/mL were scored as serum positive for CEA, SCC-Ag, and ferritin, respectively.
Results: This study found significantly higher mean serum CEA and ferritin levels in 106 OLP patients than in 187 healthy control subjects. Moreover, 106 OLP patients had significantly higher serum positive rates of CEA (12.3%) and ferritin (33.0%) than 187 healthy control subjects. Although the mean serum SCC-Ag level was higher in 106 OLP patients than in 187 healthy control subjects, the difference was not statistically significant. Of the 106 OLP patients, 39 (36.8%), 5 (4.7%), and 0 (0.0%) had serum positivities of one, two, or three tumor biomarkers including CEA, SCC-Ag, and ferritin, respectively.
Conclusion: Our findings indicate significantly higher serum levels and positive rates of CEA and ferritin in OLP patients than in healthy control subjects.

Abstract Background/purpose: The coronavirus disease 2019 gradually slows down. As schools now progressively went back to the physical class, it was essential to think about whether we should go back to the physical course, shift to the online course, or try to combine both.
Materials and methods: One hundred and six students (including 67 medical students, 19 dental students, and 20 students from another department) who took the histology course with both physical and online lectures and the virtual microscopy for the histology laboratory course were enrolled in this study. Students' acceptance and learning effectiveness were evaluated by a questionnaire-based survey, and their examination scores were compared before and after the online class.
Results: Most students accepted the combined physical and online lectures (81.13%), considered increased interactivities in the physical class (79.25%), and felt comfortable when taking the online class (81.14%). Moreover, most students considered that the online learning was friendly to use (83.02%) and could improve the learning effectiveness (80.19%). The mean examination scores were significantly higher after the online class than before the online class, regardless of different genders and groups of students. Most participants (29.2%) preferred the 60% online learning proportion, followed in a descending order by the 40% online learning (25.5%) and the 80% online learning (14.2%).
Conclusion: Our students can generally accept the combined physical and online lectures for learning the histology course. The academic performances significantly improve after the online class. The hybrid course may become the future trend of learning the histology course.

Abstract The lack of effective treatments for neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) is an important current concern. Lipid nanoparticles can deliver innovative combinations of active molecules to target the various mechanisms of neurodegeneration. A significant challenge in delivering drugs to the brain for ND treatment is associated with the blood-brain barrier, which limits the effectiveness of conventional drug administration. Current strategies utilizing lipid nanoparticles and cell-penetrating peptides, characterized by various uptake mechanisms, have the potential to extend the residence time and bioavailability of encapsulated drugs. Additionally, bioactive molecules with neurotropic or neuroprotective properties can be delivered to potentially mediate the ND targeting pathways, e.g., neurotrophin deficiency, impaired lipid metabolism, mitochondrial dysfunction, endoplasmic reticulum stress, accumulation of misfolded proteins or peptide fragments, toxic protein aggregates, oxidative stress damage, and neuroinflammation. This review discusses recent advancements in lipid nanoparticles and CPPs in view of the integration of these two approaches into nanomedicine development and dual-targeted nanoparticulate systems for brain delivery in neurodegenerative disorders.
