    Abstract Pipe jacking is a trenchless construction method to achieve forward tunneling and efficient construction of underground structure simultaneously without extensive surface excavation. In the process of pipe jacking construction, the jacking force provided by the hydraulic jacking equipment must overcome the frontal resistance of the cutter head and the frictional resistance between the pipe sections and formation at the same time. In particular, the pipe-soil frictional resistance increases with the increases of jacking distance, buried depth, pipe diameter and the complexity of jacking trajectory. Therefore, it is very important to correctly estimate jacking force in trenchless jacking engineering practice for the smooth implementation of pipe jacking, operation risk and comprehensive cost control. Firstly, the stress states of jacking circular and rectangular pipe sections in the soil are analyzed, and the key influencing factors of their pipe-soil frictional resistance are obtained respectively. Then, the pipe-soil frictional resistance of jacking the circular and rectangular pipe sections with the same external surface area in the dry sandy soil and coal granular layer are tested separately by using the self-developed multifunctional experimental apparatus during trenchless pipe jacking. The results show that the pipe-soil frictional resistances of jacking circular and rectangular pipe sections in the coal granular layer are always smaller than that in the sandy soil under the same experimental conditions, and the corresponding fitting calculation equation of pipe-soil frictional resistances are obtained respectively. Meanwhile, the modified calculation methods of the above pipe-soil frictional resistances are proposed respectively based on the relationship between the lateral pressure coefficient K and the buried depth of pipe section H. Moreover, the disturbed area of soil in the upper part of jacking circular pipe section presents an arc distribution, while the disturbed area of soil in the upper part of jacking rectangular pipe section presents a slightly concave distribution. Due to the different disturbance conditions of soil around the pipe section, the lateral pressure coefficient K should be corrected in the calculation equations of pipe-soil frictional resistance of jacking circular and rectangular pipe sections based on the discrete element numerical simulation analysis by EDEM software. Finally, the pipe-soil frictional resistances obtained by different methods in the sandy soil are compared and analyzed. The calculated values of the modified theoretical calculation method are very close to the experimental test values, while the other methods are smaller than the experimental test values, which makes the rationality of the modified theoretical calculation method of pipe-soil frictional resistance is verified, and some suggestions are also put forward for the value of some coefficients in the relevant empirical estimation equations. The above research achievements systematically compared the states of pipe-soil frictional resistances of jacking circular and rectangular pipe sections based on different research methods, especially for the correct evaluation of jacking force during trenchless pipe jacking, they could provide some valuable references and effective guidance for the subsequent research, engineering practice and further development of trenchless pipe jacking technology.

    Abstract The performance of deep neural networks (DNNs) critically relies on high-quality annotations, while training DNNs with noisy labels remains challenging owing to their incredible capacity to memorize the entire training set. In this work, we use two synchronously trained networks to reveal that noisy labels may result in more divergent gradients when updating the parameters. To overcome this, we propose a novel co-training framework named gradient agreement learning (GAL). By dynamically evaluating the gradient agreement coefficient of every pair of parameters from two identical DNNs to determine whether to update them in the training process. GAL can effectively hinder the memorization of noisy labels. Furthermore, we utilize the pseudo labels produced by the two DNNs as the supervision for the training of another network, thereby gaining further improvement by correcting some noisy labels while overcoming the confirmation bias. Extensive experiments on various benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority of the proposed GAL.

    Abstract Over the past few years, fatigue driving has emerged as one of the main causes of traffic accidents, necessitating the development of driver fatigue detection systems. However, many existing methods involves tedious manual parameter tunings, a process that is both time-consuming and results in task-specific models. On the other hand, most of the researches on fatigue recognition are based on class-balanced and sufficient data, and effectively "mine" meaningful information from class-imbalanced and insufficient data for fatigue recognition is still a challenge. In this paper, we proposed two novel models, the attention-based residual adaptive multiscale fully convolutional network-long short term memory network (ARMFCN-LSTM), and the Generative ARMFCN-LSTM (GARMFCN-LSTM) aiming to address this issue. ARMFCN-LSTM excels at automatically extracting multiscale representations through adaptive multiscale temporal convolutions, while capturing temporal dependency features through LSTM. GARMFCN-LSTM integrates Wasserstein GAN with gradient penalty (WGAN-GP) into ARMFCN-LSTM to improve driver fatigue detection performance by alleviating data scarcity and addressing class imbalances. Experimental results show that ARMFCN-LSTM achieves the highest classification accuracy of 95.84% in driver fatigue detection on the class-balanced EEG dataset (binary classification), and GARMFCN-LSTM attained an improved classification accuracy of 84.70% on the class-imbalanced EOG dataset (triple classification), surpassing the competing methods. Therefore, the proposed models are promising for further implementations in online driver fatigue detection systems.

    Abstract Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) are a class of crystalline framework materials assembled by hydrogen bonds. HOFs have the advantages of high crystallinity, mild reaction conditions, good solution processability, and reproducibility. Coupled with the reversibility and flexibility of hydrogen bonds, HOFs can be assembled into a wide diversity of crystalline structures. Since the bonding energy of hydrogen bonds is lower than that of ligand and covalent bonds, the framework of HOFs is prone to collapse after desolventisation and the stability is not high, which limits the development and application of HOFs. In recent years, numerous stable and functional HOFs have been developed by π-π stacking, highly interpenetrated networks, charge-assisted, ligand-bond-assisted, molecular weaving, and covalent cross-linking. Charge-assisted ionic HOFs introduce electrostatic attraction into HOFs to improve stability while enriching structural diversity and functionality. In this paper, we review the development, the principles of rational design and assembly of charge-assisted ionic HOFs, and introduces the different building block construction modes of charge-assisted ionic HOFs. Highlight the applications of charge-assisted ionic HOFs in gas adsorption and separation, proton conduction, biological applications, etc., and prospects for the diverse design of charge-assisted ionic HOFs structures and multifunctional applications.

    Abstract In real industrial engineering, job shop scheduling problem (JSSP) is considered to be one of the most difficult and tricky non-deterministic polynomial-time (NP)-hard problems. This study proposes a new hybrid heuristic algorithm for solving JSSP inspired by the tissue-like membrane system. The framework of the proposed algorithm incorporates improved genetic algorithms (GA), modified rumor particle swarm optimization (PSO), and fine-grained local search methods (LSM). To effectively alleviate the premature convergence of GA, the improved GA uses adaptive crossover and mutation probabilities. Taking into account the improvement of the diversity of the population, the rumor PSO is discretized to interactively optimize the population. In addition, a local search operator incorporating critical path recognition is designed to enhance the local search ability of the population. Experiment with 24 benchmark instances show that the proposed algorithm outperforms other latest comparative algorithms, and hybrid optimization strategies that complement each other in performance can better break through the original limitations of the single meta-heuristic method.

    Abstract The role of NETosis and its related molecules remains unclear in gastric cancer. The data used in this study was directly downloaded from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. All analysis and plots are completed in R software using diverse R packages. In our study, we collected the list of NETosis-related genes from previous publications. Based on the list and expression profile of gastric cancer patients from the TCGA database, we identified the NETosis-related genes significantly correlated with patients survival. Then, CLEC6A, BST1 and TLR7 were identified through LASSO regression and multivariate Cox regression analysis for prognosis model construction. This prognosis model showed great predictive efficiency in both training and validation cohorts. We noticed that the high-risk patients might have a worse survival performance. Next, we explored the biological enrichment difference between high- and low-risk patients and found that many carcinogenic pathways were upregulated in the high-risk patients. Meanwhile, we investigated the genomic instability, mutation burden and immune microenvironment difference between high- and low-risk patients. Moreover, we noticed that low-risk patients were more sensitive to immunotherapy (85.95% vs. 56.22%). High-risk patients were more sensitive to some small molecules compounds like camptothecin_1003, cisplatin_1005, cytarabine_1006, nutlin-3a (-)_1047, gemcitabine_1190, WZ4003_1614, selumetinib_1736 and mitoxantrone_1810. In summary, our study comprehensively explored the role of NETosis-related genes in gastric cancer, which can provide direction for relevant studies.

    Abstract Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become a global pandemic and garnered international attention. The causative pathogen of COVID-19 is severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), a novel, highly contagious coronavirus. Numerous studies have reported that liver injury is quite common in patients with COVID-19. Hepatitis B has a worldwide distribution as well as in China. At present, hepatitis B virus (HBV) remains a leading cause of cirrhosis, liver failure, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Because both viruses challenge liver physiology, it raises questions as to how coinfection with HBV and SARS-CoV-2 affect disease progression and mortality. Is there an increased risk of COVID-19 in patients with HBV infection? In this review, we summarize the current reports of SARS-CoV-2 and HBV coinfection and elaborate the interaction of the two diseases. The emphasis was placed on evaluating the impact of HBV infection on disease severity and clinical outcomes in patients with COVID-19 and discussing the potential mechanism behind this effect.

    Abstract Herba Epimedii, known for its rich array of bioactive ingredients and widespread use in ethnopharmacological practices, still lacks a comprehensive understanding of its gastrointestinal biotransformation. In this study, we qualitatively explored the dynamic changes in Epimedium sagittatum components during in vitro simulated digestions, with a quantitative focus on its five major flavonoids. Notably, significant metabolism of E. sagittatum constituents occurred in the simulated small intestinal fluid and colonic fermentation stages, yielding various low molecular weight metabolites. Flavonoids like kaempferol glycosides were fully metabolized in the simulated intestinal fluid, while hyperoside digestion occurred during simulated colon digestion. Colonic fermentation led to the production of two known bioactive isoflavones, genistein, and daidzein. The content and bioaccessibility of the five major epimedium flavonoids-icariin, epimedin A, epimedin B, epimedin C, and baohuoside I-significantly increased after intestinal digestion. During colon fermentation, these components gradually decreased but remained incompletely metabolized after 72 h. Faecal samples after E. sagittatum fermentation exhibited shift towards dominance by Lactobacillus (Firmicutes), Bifidobacterium (Actinobacteria), Streptococcus (Firmicutes), and Dialister (Firmicutes). These findings enhance our comprehension of diverse stages of Herba Epimedii constituents in the gut, suggesting that the primary constituents become bioaccessible in the colon, where new bioactive compounds may emerge.

    Abstract Purpose: The inflammatory parameters of peripheral blood are related to the prognosis of various cancers. The aim of this meta-analysis is to explore the prognostic value of preoperative OPNI in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST).
    Methods: The following search strategies were used to locate all literature published up to May 1, 2022: PubMed, Web of Science, CBM, EMBASE, and Cochrane, using the keywords "Prognosis," "survival," "Nutritional Assessment," "Nutrition Index," and "PNI," "OPNI," "Gastrointestinal stromal tumor," and "GIST." Studies that did not report an associated cumulative hazard ratio (HR) of recurrence-free survival (RFS) were excluded. The pooled hazard ratio (HR) and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated by a fixed-effects model. Subgroups were analyzed for heterogeneity of studies, and Egger's test was applied to assess the risk of publication bias.
    Results: Through the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 8 articles with a total of 2462 patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors were selected for analysis. The HR summary of univariate analysis of RFS was 2.73 (95% CI: 2.17-3.43, P < 0.0001), and there was no heterogeneity, which indicated that the prognosis of gastrointestinal stromal tumors with low OPNI before operation was poor. Except for one article that did not give the HR of RFS under the condition of multi-factor analysis, the other 7 articles gave the HR of RFS and summarized it to 1.81 (95% CI: 1.40-3.83, P < 0.0001). Although there was slight heterogeneity in the multifactorial analysis, the publication bias risk and sensitivity assessment showed that the results were still reliable (p > 0.05).
    Conclusion: The results of this systematic review and meta-analysis show that decreased preoperative OPNI is closely associated with poor long-term survival (RFS) in GIST patients. Monitoring OPNI in GIST patients may help with risk stratification and individualized treatment.

    Abstract Introduction: Purpose: to evaluate the protective effect of omega-3 long-chain unsaturated fatty acids on the progression of wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD). Methods: this meta-analysis was designed, implemented, and analyzed in accordance with the Meta-analysis of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (MOOSE) protocol and is reported following PRISMA guidelines. Results: in this study we included 5 observational trials, including 2 cross-sectional studies, 2 case-control studies, and 1 confrontation study. These tests are conducted in the U.S., Europe and Japan, and are of high quality. In general, people with high dietary long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-3 LCPUFAs) have a lower risk of progression to advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD) (effect size, ES: 0.51, 95 % CI [0.34, 0.75], I2 = 70 %, p = 0.01). When assessing docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) intake and wAMD risk a total of the three above studies were included, which also produced similar results. Conclusions: the highest DHA consumption reduced the risk of disease by 39 % (effect size: 0.61, 95 % CI [0.50, 0.74], I2 = 14 %, p = 0.31); compared with the lowest EPA consumption, the highest EPA consumption reduced the risk of wAMD by 32 % (ES: 0.68, 95 % CI [0.57, 0.82], I2 = 39 %, p = 0.20).
