    Abstract In this paper, we propose a multilevel feature representation method that combines word-level features, such as German morphology and slang, and sentence-level features, such as special symbols and English-translated sentiment information, and build a deep learning model for German sentiment classification based on the self-attentive mechanism, in order to address the characteristics of German social media texts that are colloquial, irregular, and diverse. Compared with the existing studies, this model not only has the most obvious improvement effect but also has better feature extraction and classification ability for German emotion.

    Abstract Background: Multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) has attracted increasing attention in achieving the global goal of tuberculosis (TB) control. China has the second largest TB burden worldwide and has been experiencing large-scale domestic migration. This study aims to explore the effect of migrants on non-adherence to MDR-TB treatment.
    Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in Wuhan, China. The exposure cases were migrants who were not locally registered in the residence registration system. The control cases were local residents. Non-adherence cases were patients who were lost follow-up or refused treatment. Chi-square and
    Results: We studied 73 migrants and 219 local residents. The migrants, who did not to adhere to treatment (55, 75.3%), was far higher than that of local residents (89, 40.6%). Migrants with MDR-TB had 10.38-times higher difficulty in adhering to treatment (adjusted OR = 10.38, 95% CI 4.62-25.28) than local residents. This additional likelihood was moderated by age and treatment registration group. Migration had an indirect association with non-adherence to treatment via social medial insurance (adjusted OR = 1.05, 95% CI 1.01-1.13).
    Conclusion: There a significant increased likelihood of non-adherence to treatment among migrants with MDR-TB, highlighting the importance of improving treatment adherence in this population. Migration prevented migrants from gaining access to social medical insurance and indirectly reduced their likelihood of adherence to treatment.

    Abstract There is empirical evidence that neighborhood environment characteristics influence individuals’ self-reported affective walking experiences. However, much of the research investigates residents’ affective walking experiences at the neighborhood level using revealed-preference methodologies, making it difficult to identify the separate impacts of characteristics. In addition, empirical studies have not shown enough evidence that individuals from different sociodemographic backgrounds have distinct affective walking experiences. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to explain how different groups of people perceive the characteristics of a neighborhood differently. To do this, this study conducts a conjoint experiment employing videos of virtual environments involving a sample of 295 respondents. Using a latent-class regression model and a multinomial logit model, we are able to determine how individuals and groups perceive neighborhood characteristics differently based on their different emotions. The results somewhat confirmed the findings of the empirical research, indicating that land use mix, connectivity, road size, open space, and greenery are related to a positive walking experience. The level of affective walking experience that individuals associate with neighborhood environmental characteristics is, however, considerably variable. Therefore, our results show that open space and road width are crucial for a walkable neighborhood since they are most helpful to individuals’ subjective well-being.

    Abstract Summary: Temperature and precipitation changes are among the vital climatic driving forces of global vegetation change. However, the strategy to separate the relative contributions of these two critical climatic factors is still lacking. Here, we propose an index CRTP (contribution ratio of temperature and precipitation) to quantify their impacts on vegetation and then construct the CRTP classification prediction models based on climatic, geographic, and environmental factors using the Random Forest classifier. We find that precipitation predominates more than 70% of the significant vegetation change, mainly located in the low and middle latitudes during 2000–2021. Precipitation will remain the dominant climatic factor affecting global vegetation change in the coming six decades, whereas areas with temperature-dominated vegetation change will expand under higher radiative forcings. Hopefully, the promising index CRTP will be applied in the research about climatic attribution for regional vegetation degradation, monitoring drought-type conversion, and alarming the potential ecological risk.

    Abstract Abstract The objective of this study was to investigate the expression of thyroid peroxidase (TPO) in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and to preliminarily investigate its value as a marker of lymph node metastasis and recurrence in patients with PTC. Clinical data of PTC patients and TPO expression were collected from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database for analysis. We recruited 230 consecutive PTC patients from the Department of Thyroid Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, collected their clinicopathological data, and also performed immunohistochemical analysis of TPO expression on their thyroid specimens to validate the results of bioinformatics analysis. In addition, the construction of protein–protein interaction networks was performed too. Functional enrichment analysis and immuno-infiltration analysis characterized the pathways in which TPO genes may be involved. Data mining based on the TCGA database showed that TPO expression in PTC tissues was significantly lower than in paired normal thyroid tissues. The expression level of TPO in PTC tissues correlated with tumor lymph node metastasis and recurrence. Follow-up data from our center also validated the difference in TPO expression and its relationship with lymph node metastasis in PTC patients. Functional enrichment analysis showed that TPO function was significantly associated with signaling pathways related to amino acid metabolism, gene expression regulation and tumorigenesis. TPO expression was also significantly associated with immune infiltration. Our study showed that reduced TPO expression was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis and recurrence in patients with PTC, and we validated this result in our central cohort. These data suggest that TPO may serve as a prognostic indicator for PTC.

    Abstract Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), as an endocrine and metabolic disorder, affects approximately 6% -20% of women of childbearing age. This study aims to assess the therapeutic effects of Metformin combined with vitamin D in PCOS patients. Eight databases were searched to obtain randomized controlled trials, both domestically and internationally, on the effects of Metformin combined with vitamin D in patients with PCOS. Data analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 software. Nine studies were ultimately included in this meta-analysis. Six studies reported the homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance of the test group and the control group, which was significantly lower (SMD: -0.23; 95% Cl: -0.42,-0.04; P<0.05) than the control group, body mass index (BMI) (SMD: -1.86; 95% Cl: -2.77,-0.96; P<0.01), Serum 25 (OH) D (SMD: 14.28; 95% Cl: 12.26,16.29; P<0.01), testosterone (SMD: -0.11; 95% Cl: -0.15,-0.07; P<0.01) and regulated menstrual cycles (OR: 1.27; 95% Cl: 0.99,1.63; P=0.063). Our meta-analysis of nine trials demonstrates significant reductions in insulin resistance, BMI, and testosterone levels, along with increased serum vitamin D levels and improved menstrual cycle regulation after Metformin and vitamin D treatment. These findings suggest the potential of this combined therapy in managing the multifaceted aspects of PCOS.

    Abstract Community public safety is facing great challenges in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. While helping communities identify crises and prevent risks, and improving community public safety governance, collaborative governance is changing the trends of a complex, uncertain, and ever-changing environment, and helping to drive communities toward higher levels of development and improved community sustainability. The purpose of this paper was to design a model of collaborative governance regime (CGR) that better fits the particular context of COVID-19 to enhance community safety and achieve sustainability of collaborative governance. This paper investigated and empirically analyzed the COVID-19 response in Chinese and Korean communities. It is found that collaborative dynamics can positively contribute to collaborative performance; collaborative dynamics can positively contribute to collaborative actions; collaborative actions can positively contribute to collaborative performance; collaborative actions play a partially mediating role between collaborative dynamics and collaborative performance; and there is heterogeneity in collaborative governance regimes in different system contexts. The paper suggests several insights: collaborative governance can deal with uncertainty and unpredictable turbulence; enhancing the capacity for joint action is more conducive to collaborative performance; and the role of government in collaborative governance is valued. Our study provides data support for validating the operating principles and internal logical relationships of collaborative governance and provides an empirical basis for responding to large-scale public crises in different contexts.
