Abstract The rapid urbanization and economic growth experienced by China in recent years has led to the expansion of construction land. This has resulted in the substantial transformation of cultivated land to construction land. However, the efficiency of cultivated land occupation by construction land, its regional differences, and the urban-rural disparity in China remain unclear. Therefore, using population and land use data, we measured the efficiency of cultivated land occupied by urban and rural construction land in China during 1990–2020 by proposing absolute, differential, and relative efficiency evaluation methods. Our study revealed that the cultivated land area occupied by rural construction land is 22.4% higher than that of urban construction land. The efficiency of cultivated land occupied by construction land in urban areas was higher than that in rural areas. Spatially, the population in the urban and rural construction land-occupied cultivated land area shows a pattern of high in the southeast and low in the northwest. The efficiency of urban and rural construction land-occupied cultivated land increases with increasing urban size. Thus, to improve the efficiency of cultivated land occupied by construction land, the strict control on the urban construction occupation of cultivated land should be loosened, particularly for larger cities, and the control on inefficient construction in rural areas should be tightened.

Abstract China’s cities have experienced rapid and uneven development in recent decades, which influenced urban land prices crucially. Understanding the distribution of the urban land-price system and its evolution would help to provide an in-depth understanding of the development of China’s urban system. Therefore, we combined rank-size law and fractal theory to analyze the patterns and variations of the rank-size distributions of China’s urban land-price system based on land transfer data for 2007–2019. We concluded the following: (1) the rank-size law explains the distribution of the urban land-price system in China—the system was balanced and showed an equilibrium–disequilibrium development; (2) the actual land prices were higher than the theoretical land prices in southeastern China, especially in urban agglomerations, while they were lower in northwestern China; (3) the number of cities located in China’s urban development system was decreasing, and the unevenness of urban land-price system was increasing; and (4) the imbalance of land-price rank-size distributions was higher in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei and Guangdong–Hongkong–Macau Greater Bay Area urban agglomerations, while they were more balanced in the Chengdu–Chongqing and Central Plains urban agglomerations. We suggest that the development of small cities in China has a large upside, which should be noticed.

Abstract Most cities in the Yellow River Basin are located in the central and western regions of China. Restricted by historical evolution, natural environment, resource endowments and other conditions, the economic and social development model of the Yellow River Basin region is outdated, and the level of economic and social development is relatively lagging, which hinders its coordinated development of ecology and economy. This paper uses the coupling coordination degree model, GIS spatial analysis method, NAR neural network model, spatial autoregression, and geographically weighted regression model to investigate the coupling coordination level, spatial differentiation characteristics, future development trend, and coupling driving factors of eco-environmental protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin. The results show that From 2003 to 2018, the level of eco-environmental protection and high-quality development in most areas of the Yellow River Basin gradually improved, presenting a spatial imbalance characteristic of “high in the east and low in the west. The coupling coordination degree of eco-environmental protection and high-quality development in various regions of the Yellow River Basin increased year by year during the survey period. In 2018, most cities had been transformed into intermediate coordinated development areas, and most cities in Inner Mongolia and the middle and lower reaches south of the Yellow River have been upgraded to a well-coordinated development stage. The coupled and coordinated development relationship between eco-environmental protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin has significant spatial agglomeration characteristics, and the local spatial positive correlation gradually increases. From 2019 to 2023, the average level of coupling coordination between eco-environmental protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin during the forecast period is 0.802, 0.807, 0.809, 0.813, and 0.816, respectively, all of which have ...

Abstract In recent years, the development of China’s state-owned companies (SOEs) has slowed dramatically due to the improvement of the government–enterprise relationship and maturity in the market system. To accomplish the market-oriented transformation of the management model and promote sustainable development, some SOEs have incorporated private capital to conduct mixed-ownership reforms. Nonetheless, the emergence of heterogeneous shareholder conflicts seriously hampers the transformation of businesses. This paper proposed a two-party evolutionary game model between state-owned and private shareholders in the management transformation of mixed-ownership companies. Based on the proposed model, the evolutionary stability of heterogeneous shareholders’ action strategies was analyzed to obtain the evolutionary stability strategies for the system. The crucial factors of the ideal equilibrium strategies are studied at the same time. The analysis results show that the probability of “change” in private shareholders is positively proportional to factors such as the success rate of change, change dividend, control gain, and policy burden, and it is inversely proportional to the factors including the cost of change, contractual cost of private shareholders, the additional cost of change, hidden income, state-owned shareholders’ shareholding ratio, and loss of change failure. Finally, the findings of this study provide a theoretical foundation for the transition of mixed-ownership enterprises’ management systems.

Abstract To construct novel ion receptors and D-A self-assembly systems for materials with better functions, the annulation of a tetrathiafulvalene donor with a magnesium norphthalocyanine core via a flexible tetrathiacrown ether bridge afforded a new triad 1 . The structure of this product was characterized by 1H NMR and infrared spectroscopy, time-of-flight mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. The optical and electrochemical properties were investigated using UV–vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The complex of triad 1 and 2,3,5,6- tetrafluoro-7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane produced electron transfer with a radical cationic character, as confirmed by UV–Vis and electron paramagnetic resonance analysis. Furthermore, the target compound presented evident intramolecular charge-transfer interactions in ground states, which were explained using density functional theory. Furthermore, norphthalocyanine 1 was able to coordinate Ag + through the peripheral ligating oxathiaether crown.

Abstract The dual-carbon target brings severe challenges to enterprise financing. Low-carbon supply chain financing has become a key measure by which enterprises break through the financing bottleneck. How to accurately evaluate and optimize the financial efficiency of a low-carbon supply chain is of great significance. We developed a financial behavior scale of the low-carbon supply chain for enterprises and constructed the evaluation index system for financing efficiency of enterprises’ low-carbon supply chain. Based on the qualitative and quantitative data of 205 listed companies, we combine the PCA model with the DEA–Malmquist model to conduct static and dynamic analysis of the financing efficiency of enterprises’ low-carbon supply chain. The results show that the financing efficiency of the culture, sports, and entertainment industries needs to be improved. The pure technical efficiency of information transmission, software, and information technology services is low. The total factor productivity index of water conservancy, environment and public facilities management, and the real estate industry fluctuated significantly. In this regard, enterprises must combine the characteristics of the industry and improve the financing efficiency of the supply chain using low-carbon processes of improvement, selection of low-carbon environmental protection materials, and collaborative supply chain emission reduction to break the financing constraints of enterprises and promote the realization of the national dual-carbon target.

Abstract In this paper, a novel bat algorithm based on the quantum computing concept and pyramid neural network (PNN) is presented and applied to the electromagnetic motor optimization problem. Due to the problems of high loss, high temperature rise and threatening motor safety, it is necessary to optimize the design of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (HPMSM) structure. In order to use less training data and avoid the problem of large computational costs due to repeated finite element simulation in the electromagnetic structure design, this paper adopted a performance-driven method to establish the PMSM model. This model could effectively reduce the dimensions of the parameter space and establish an effective high-quality model within a wide range of parameters. For the purpose of obtaining a reliable proxy model with less training data, this paper adopted a pyramid-shaped neural network, which could reduce the risk of overtraining and improve the utilization of specific problem knowledge embedded in the training data set. The quantum bat algorithm (QBA) was used to optimize the structure of the PMSM. Compared with the classical GA and PSO algorithms, the QBA has the characteristics of a rapid convergence speed, simple structure, strong searching ability and stronger local jumping mechanism. The correctness and effectiveness of the proposed PNN-based QBA method were verified using simulation analysis and a prototype test.

Abstract Pineapple is ranked sixth in terms of global fruit production and the most traded tropical fruit worldwide. Internal browning (IB), a physiological disorder of pineapple fruit after harvest, limits the export and industry development of pineapple. Evidence confirmed that endophyte played a pivotal role in plant disease. This study investigated the relationship between endophyte fungi community structure, population abundance in healthy and IB pineapple fruit; as well as the effect of endophyte Penicillium sp. inoculation on pineapple IB. Intended to explore a new effective measure for controlling IB and reducing postharvest losses in pineapple by an economical and environmentally friendly approach. We found the abundance of endophyte fungi in healthy pineapple fruit was different from that in IB fruit by high-throughput sequencing. The results emphasized that the endophyte Penicillium sp. inoculation dramatically alleviated pineapple IB intensity and severity, delayed crown withering and fruit yellowing, and maintained the exterior quality traits during the postharvest period at 20 °C. Penicillium sp. retarded H2O2 accumulation and increased the total phenols level in pineapple. Application of Penicillium sp. also maintained the higher antioxidant capacity by increasing antioxidant enzyme activity and ascorbic acids levels, regulated of the homeostasis of endogenous hormones, and increased the abundance of Penicillium sp. in the fruit. In summary, Penicillium sp. retarded the occurrence of IB and enhanced the storability of pineapple at postharvest, and this economical and environmentally friendly technology is convenient to spread in agriculture.

Abstract Background: Unawareness of Huntington disease is prevalent where patients might have a denial of illness, less reporting of symptoms such as changes in behavior or cognitive impairment, or poor coping with the disease. Understanding the awareness level of Huntington disease is crucial to provide more suggestions for public health campaigns. Objective: This study explores the level of awareness of Huntington's disease among users of social media. We will also explore the tweeting behavior during Huntington disease awareness month, and search any missing area related to the awareness by following the framework of Social Media-Based Public Health Campaigns. Method: We extracted tweets from April 2021-Jun 2021. We used both quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze the data. We used Python programming and various natural language processing tools to process and analyze data for a quantitative investigation. We also carried out a qualitative content analysis to identify themes and subthemes in the data. Result: We discovered that the most popular hashtag is #LetsTalkAboutHD, and after looking over the data, it seemed to us that the word ''support'' was used more than 54 times during that time. According to the findings of our analysis of the twitter distribution pattern in terms of time, the most tweets were sent between May 13 and May 16, particularly on Wednesday, which was the busiest day. Also, the United States and Alaska had the highest levels of engagement when the pattern of tweets based on geographic location was examined. The most common pattern in the tweets that we separated based on patterns was news, which was followed by research and clinical trials. Conclusion: Awareness campaigns needs to follow the framework of social media-Based Public Health Campaigns to provide more comprehensive information about Huntington disease and increase the awareness level among patients and families.

Abstract Vegetation, which is a good indicator of the impacts of climate variability and human activities, can reflect desert ecosystem dynamics. To reveal the vegetation variations in China's deserts, trends in the monthly, seasonal, and annual normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) from 2000 to 2017 were measured both temporally and spatially by the Theil-Sen estimator and Mann-Kendall test. Additionally, correlation coefficients and residual analysis were employed to evaluate the correlations between the NDVI and climatic factors and to distinguish the impacts of climate variability and human activities. The results showed that China's deserts underwent greening. The annual NDVI showed a significant increasing trend at a rate of 0.0018/yr, with values of 0.094 in 2000 and 0.126 in 2017. Significant increasing trends in NDVI were observed in all four seasons. The NDVI were higher in summer and autumn than in spring and winter. Both the monthly NDVI and its trends showed an inverted U-shaped curve during the year. Spatially, the greening trends were mainly distributed on the southern edge of the Gurbantunggut Desert, in the northwestern part of the Taklimakan Desert, and in the Kubuqi Desert. The correlations between the NDVI and climatic factors at the monthly and seasonal scales were stronger than those at the annual scale. Temperature and precipitation had positive effects on NDVI at the monthly and seasonal scales, but only precipitation had a positive effect at the annual scale. Human activities, especially oasis expansion and sand stabilization measures, were two major causes of large increasing areas of desert greening in China indicated by the NDVI.
