Abstract Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a form of cancer that is often resistant to chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy due to its genomic instability and inflammatory tumor microenvironment. Ferroptosis, a type of non-apoptotic cell death, is characterized by the accumulation of iron and the oxidation of lipids. Studies have revealed that the levels of reactive oxygen species and glutathione in CRC cells are significantly lower than those in healthy colon cells. Erastin has emerged as a promising candidate for CRC treatment by diminishing stemness and chemoresistance. Moreover, the gut, responsible for regulating iron absorption and release, could influence CRC susceptibility through iron metabolism modulation. Investigation into ferroptosis offers new insights into CRC pathogenesis and clinical management, potentially revolutionizing treatment approaches for therapy-resistant cancers.

Abstract Background: Several studies have described prophylactic closure after endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) of colorectal lesions for improving postoperative outcomes. We reviewed the evidence on the impact of prophylactic closure after ESD.
Methods: A literature search was conducted on PubMed, Embase, CENTRAL, and Web of Science by 2 reviewers independently for studies published up to July 9, 2023. All types of comparative studies were eligible.
Results: Ten studies compared 939 patients undergoing prophylactic closure with 1074 controls. Three were randomized controlled trials (RCTs) while the rest were observational. Pooled data from all included studies showed that prophylactic closure resulted in reduced incidence of delayed bleeding after ESD [odds ratio (OR): 0.30; 95% CI: 0.15, 0.72; I2 =0%]. These results were significant only for observational studies but not for RCTs. Meta-analysis showed no significant difference in the risk of delayed perforation (OR: 0.55; 95% CI: 0.18, 1.70; I2 =0%) or post-ESD coagulation syndrome (PECS) (OR: 1.15; 95% CI: 0.41, 3.19; I2 =63%) between closure and nonclosure groups.
Conclusions: Observational data suggest that prophylactic closure of colorectal mucosal defects after ESD may reduce the risk of delayed bleeding. However, the results are not concurred by RCTs. Furthermore, there seems to be no impact of prophylactic closure on the risk of delayed perforation and PECS.

Abstract The prediction of potential protein-protein interactions (PPIs) is a critical step in decoding diseases and understanding cellular mechanisms. Traditional biological experiments have identified plenty of potential PPIs in recent years, but this problem is still far from being solved. Hence, there is urgent to develop computational models with good performance and high efficiency to predict potential PPIs. In this study, we propose a multi-source molecular network representation learning model (called MultiPPIs) to predict potential protein-protein interactions. Specifically, we first extract the protein sequence features according to the physicochemical properties of amino acids by utilizing the auto covariance method. Second, a multi-source association network is constructed by integrating the known associations among miRNAs, proteins, lncRNAs, drugs, and diseases. The graph representation learning method, DeepWalk, is adopted to extract the multisource association information of proteins with other biomolecules. In this way, the known protein-protein interaction pairs can be represented as a concatenation of the protein sequence and the multi-source association features of proteins. Finally, the Random Forest classifier and corresponding optimal parameters are used for training and prediction. In the results, MultiPPIs obtains an average 86.03% prediction accuracy with 82.69% sensitivity at the AUC of 93.03% under five-fold cross-validation. The experimental results indicate that MultiPPIs has a good prediction performance and provides valuable insights into the field of potential protein-protein interactions prediction. Abstract The application of neodymium based cis-1,4-polybutadiene rubber (Nd-BR) BR 9101 N in the formula of support compound of run-flat tire was studied, and compared with those of foreign same type product Nd-BR CB 24. The results showed that Nd-BR BR 9101 N could meet the requirements for incoming inspection of Nd-BR raw material, and the basic compounding performance could be met. When Nd-BR BR 9101 N was used in the formula of support compound of run-flat tire to replace Nd-BR CB 24 with the same amount, Mooney viscosity, scorch time and curing characteristics of the former compound, and physical and mechanical property of Nd-BR BR 9101 N vulcanizate before and after aging were basically the same to those of the latter, and the aging performance of the former improved, whereas the compression fatigue temperature rise and compression set all reduced compared with those of the latter. The high-speed durability of finished tire made from Nd-BR BR 9101 N was good and could meet the product design requirements and exceeded the national standard regulations, which were basically equivalent to those of the existing production tire, in addition, the strength performance and zero-pressure durability of finished tire made from Nd-BR BR 9101 N improved compared with those of the existing production tire.

Abstract Introduction: The study aimed to explore feasibility and effect of hospital-community online management on the medication management of elderly peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) during COVID-19.
Methods: A total of 160 patients receiving PD were randomly divided into the control (n = 80, outpatient follow-up management mode) and observation (n = 80, hospital-community online management mode) groups. The self-efficacy (General Self-Efficacy Scale [GSES]), medication adherence (8-item Morisky medication adherence scale [MMAS-8]), quality of life (kidney disease quality of life short form [KDQOL-SF]), and degree of depression (beck depression inventory [BDI]) before and after the intervention were compared.
    Results: After the intervention, the scores of GSES (4.20 ± 0.46 vs. 3.09 ± 0.33), MMAS-8 (5.82 ± 0.92 vs. 5.13 ± 1.25), and KDQOL-SF were significantly higher, whereas the BDI score (9.50 ± 2.86 vs. 12.08 ± 2.95) was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: Hospital-community online management presents good effects in the medication management of PD patients with ESRD.
