Abstract Article Highlights Feasibility analysis of using abrasive powder mixed De-Ionized water as Dielectric for machining of hard-to-cut alloy. Significance of powder material type/properties and their concentration on surface integrity have been established. Grey Relational Analysis is practiced to investigate the optimum parameters that deliver the best surface finish with lower rate of a tool wear.

Abstract The advancement in the field of material science has gifted us new electrically conductive materials having good mechanical properties and thermal characteristics. Machining these materials using conventional machining process is a challenging task. Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a well-established machining process used to manufacture process hard materials having geometrically complex shapes, that are extremely difficult to machine traditionally. EDM is a thermo-electric process in which material is eroded by rapidly recurring sparks between the non-contacted electrode and workpiece. As there is no direct contact between the electrodes in EDM, machining defects like mechanical stresses, clattering & vibration do not create problems during machining. In spite of the advantages of the process, its use in industry is limited owing to poor surface finish and low volumetric material removal. To overcome these drawbacks, the metallic powder is mixed in the dielectric fluid, which increases its conductive strength and increases the spark gap distance between the tool and workpiece. This new evolved material removal process is called Powder Mixed Electrical Discharge Machining (PMEDM). The added powder significantly affects the performance of the EDM process. The objective of this review is to benefit the researchers to understand the PMEDM concept precisely and study the process parameters furthermore in particulars to get enhancements in the process to achieve better quality levels.

Abstract As more complex predictive models are used for gamma-ray spectral analysis, methods are needed to probe and understand their predictions and behavior. Recent work has begun to bring the latest techniques from the field of Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) into the applications of gamma-ray spectroscopy, including the introduction of gradient-based methods like saliency mapping and Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping (Grad-CAM), and black box methods like Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations (LIME) and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP). In addition, new sources of synthetic radiological data are becoming available, and these new data sets present opportunities to train models using more data than ever before. In this work, we use a neural network model trained on synthetic NaI(Tl) urban search data to compare some of these explanation methods and identify modifications that need to be applied to adapt the methods to gamma-ray spectral data. We find that the black box methods LIME and SHAP are especially accurate in their results, and recommend SHAP since it requires little hyperparameter tuning. We also propose and demonstrate a technique for generating counterfactual explanations using orthogonal projections of LIME and SHAP explanations.

Abstract Group key management is an integral part of secure multicast. Minimizing the number of rekeying messages, maintaining the forward and backward secrecy has always been a challenging task. Though there are many solutions which reduce the rekeying messages from Ο(n) to Ο(log_2?〖n),〗 they increase with the increase in group size. In this paper, we present a centralized key table based communication efficient group key management protocol in which number of rekeying messages is independent of the group size. In this protocol key management server (KMS) divides a group of n members into n subgroups of size n-1 and maintains a table of n subkeys along with member ID and one group key. Each member has n-1 subkeys, which is a subset of n subkeys of KMS and one group key. The proposed protocol requires only one multicast rekeying message per joining of a new member as well as per eviction of any existing member. As the number of rekeying messages is not dependent on group size, it requires less computation.

Abstract In this paper we propose a watermarking method in which Estimator based approach is used. Due to this approach simple spatial method could resist different noise attacks. For the evaluation of Imperceptibility & Robustness of the proposed method we have calculated different quality measure parameters. We have tested watermarked image against different noise attacks at different noise densities. Due to the use of estimator & the parameter so calculated gives the measure of perceptible quality of embedded & extracted images.

Abstract In this study, we investigate the effect of varying copper loading in Cu-BEA on different reactions involved in the SCR mechanism. The catalysts were characterized by BET, ICP-AES, and UV–Vis. Enlarged ammonia storage was observed when increasing the copper loading mainly owing to loosely bonded NH3, but for over-exchanged samples, a new high-temperature shoulder was also observed. The N2O production significantly grew with increasing copper loading. In addition, the reaction rates of NO oxidation and NH3 oxidation per Cu site were higher on the high-loaded copper samples compared to those with lower loading. However, the opposite results were found for NH3 SCR, but differences were small for this reaction. Ammonium nitrate formation and decomposition were examined during a variety of temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) experiments, and three regions related to the presence of acid sites and low- versus high-loaded copper sites were observed. When dosing NO2 before NH3, ammonium nitrate species were formed but in lower amounts than if NH3 and NO2 were dosed simultaneously.

Abstract Abstract Background In the United States, rare disease (RD) is defined as a condition that affects fewer than 200,000 individuals. Collectively, RD affects an estimated 30 million Americans. A significant portion of RD has an underlying genetic cause; however, this may go undiagnosed. To better serve these patients, the Mayo Clinic Program for Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases (PRaUD) was created under the auspices of the Center for Individualized Medicine (CIM) aiming to integrate genomics into subspecialty practice including targeted genetic testing, research, and education. Methods Patients were identified by subspecialty healthcare providers from 11 clinical divisions/departments. Targeted multi-gene panels or custom exome/genome-based panels were utilized. To support the goals of PRaUD, a new clinical service model, the Genetic Testing and Counseling (GTAC) unit, was established to improve access and increase efficiency for genetic test facilitation. The GTAC unit includes genetic counselors, genetic counseling assistants, genetic nurses, and a medical geneticist. Patients receive abbreviated point-of-care genetic counseling and testing through a partnership with subspecialty providers. Results Implementation of PRaUD began in 2018 and GTAC unit launched in 2020 to support program expansion. Currently, 29 RD clinical indications are included in 11 specialty divisions/departments with over 142 referring providers. To date, 1152 patients have been evaluated with an overall solved or likely solved rate of 17.5% and as high as 66.7% depending on the phenotype. Noteworthy, 42.7% of the solved or likely solved patients underwent changes in medical management and outcome based on genetic test results. Conclusion Implementation of PRaUD and GTAC have enabled subspecialty practices advance expertise in RD where genetic counselors have not historically been embedded in practice. Democratizing access to genetic testing and counseling can broaden the reach of patients with RD and increase the diagnostic yield of such ...
