    Abstract This study proposed and tested a model adapted from Biggs' 3P model that quantifies the behaviors of students who completed MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) in order to design intervention measures for low retention rates. Psychomotor domain data from 300 MOOC learners was analyzed in a covariance-based structural equation model (CB-SEM) to analyze the direct and indirect effects of various factors. Results show the basic psychological needs theory (BPNT) in the presage stage significantly positively correlated with engagement in the process stage. Meanwhile, the process stage exhibited a significantly positive correlation with the product stage, representing persistence intention (PI). Furthermore, a full mediation effect was observed among the presage, process, and product stages. The mediating effect demonstrates that higher student engagement leads to more positive exertion on BNPT and PI to complete the course. Moreover, results show bolstering students' behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement strengthens their PIs.

    Abstract The influence mechanism for brand experience in virtual sports brand communities is the subject of many studies, but these studies do not feature a holistic consideration of antecedents and consequences, and the moderating role of brand attachment is unclear. Drawing on the value co-creation theory, this study determines the impact of brand experience and its mechanism using the data from 508 virtual sports brand communities. The empirical test results show that value co-creation (i.e., corporate-initiated value co-creation and customer-initiated value co-creation) has a positive effect on the brand experience and that the brand experience has a positive effect on the purchase intention. Brand attachment does not have a moderating role between brand experience and purchase intention so as the degree of brand attachment increases, the brand experience does not increase the purchase intention through a brand attachment. This study determines the antecedents and consequences of brand experience in virtual sports brand communities from a value co-creation perspective, to determine the impact and mechanisms of virtual sports brand communities to guide the marketing practices of virtual sports brand communities.

    Abstract As the technology of Internet of Things (IoT) becomes popular, the number of sensor nodes also increases. The network coverage, extensibility, and reliability are also the key points of technical development. To address the challenge of environmental restriction and deployment cost, most sensor nodes are powered by batteries. Therefore, the low-power consumption becomes an important issue because of the finite value of battery capacity. In addition, significant interference occurs in the environment, thereby complicating reliable wireless communication. This study proposes a fuzzy-based adaptive data rate for the transmission power control in wireless sensor networks to balance the communication quality and power consumption. The error count and error interval perform the inputs of a fuzzy system and the corresponding fuzzy system output is guard that is utilized for limiting the upper bounds of data rate and transmission power. The long-term experimental results are introduced to demonstrate that the control algorithm can overcome environmental interference and obtain low-power performance. The sensor nodes have reliable communication under an ultra-low-power consumption. The experimental results show that the total power consumption of the proposed approach has been improved 73% compared with the system without executing the algorithm and also indicate the Packet Error Rate (PER) is close to 1%. Therefore, the proposed method is suitable for the battery supply IoT system.
