Abstract Prohexadione-Calcium (Pro-Ca) plays key roles in improving fruit quality and yield by regulating various aspects of plant growth. However, the effects of how Pro-Ca regulates the regulation of sugar and acid balance and its impact on the production of volatile aroma substances during fruit growth and development are poorly understood. In this study, the Pro-Ca solutions developed at concentrations of 200, 400, 600 and 800 mg·L

Abstract This study aimed at investigating the applicability of a SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model in understanding the effects of drought on winter wheat. This study is based on the water requirement of the crop and addresses the absence of a SWAT model with real-time irrigation simulation. A real-time irrigation module was developed for the downstream irrigation area of the Yellow River to estimate the real-time irrigation of crops. By further simulating the dynamic evolution process of soil moisture content, a dynamic drought evaluation model of winter wheat was established, and the relative soil moisture was set as the evaluation index to assess and analyze the dynamic variation of drought evolution during the growth of winter wheat. The results showed that the improved SWAT model has strong applicability. During the growth of winter wheat, the variation trend of droughts is consistent with that of natural precipitation. For winter wheat, drought is quite normal during all growth stages, and the average frequency is 93.5%, 89.1%, 84.8%, 89.1% and 95.7%. Severe drought and extra-severe drought usually occur during the sowing–tillering stage and the tillering–greening stage, and the frequency of occurrence is 30.4% and 19.6%, respectively. This paper provides a novel approach for the study of agricultural drought in the downstream irrigation area of the Yellow River.

Abstract Sphingobacterium is a class of Gram-negative, non-fermentative bacilli that have received widespread attention due to their broad ecological distribution and oil degradation ability, but are rarely involved in infections. In this manuscript, a novel Sphingobacterium strain isolated from wildfire-infected tobacco leaves was named Sphingobacterium sp. CZ-2. NGS and TGS sequencing results showed a whole genome of 3.92 Mb with 40.68 mol% GC content and containing 3,462 protein-coding genes, 9 rRNA-coding genes and 50 tRNA-coding genes. Phylogenetic analysis, ANI and dDDH calculations all supported that Sphingobacterium sp. CZ-2 represented a novel species of the genus Sphingobacterium. Analysis of the specific genes of Sphingobacterium sp. CZ-2 by comparative genomics revealed that metal transport proteins encoded by the troD and cusA genes could maintain the balance of heavy metal ion concentrations in the internal environment of bacteria and avoid heavy metal toxicity while meeting the needs of growth and reproduction, and transport proteins encoded by the malG gene could keep nutrients required for the survival of bacteria. Synteny and genome evolutionary analyses of Sphingobacterium strains implicated that the gene family contraction as a major process in genome evolution, with insertional sequences leading to mutations, deletions and reversals of genes that help bacteria to withstand complex environmental changes. Complete genome sequencing and systematic comparative genomic analysis will contribute new insights into the adaptive evolution of this novel species and the genus Sphingobacterium.

Abstract Objective: To construct the anti-lung tumor gene differentially expressed bank of wild mouse and to explore the mechanisms of the TW wild mouse suppressing the occurring of lung tumor.
Methods: Using suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) technique, the differentially expressed genes between TAF1 mouse and A/wy mouse were selected out and the subtracted cDNA bank was constructed. 166 clones were performed DNA sequencing and then were assayed by blast programme.
Results: Among the blast results of 166 differentially expressed clones, 87 known genes (mRNA or cDNA) were in homology with 134 clones and were divided into 7 classifications according to the biological role.14 DNA fragments were in homology with 32 clones, in which 20 clones were in homology with 9 mouse DNA sequences, 2 clones were in homology with one bacterial gene sequences and 3 clones were clone vector.
Conclusion: With SSH technique, the anti-lung tumor gene differentially expressed bank of wild mouse are successfully constructed.
