Abstract The city cluster of the Yangtze River Delta is a highly dynamic and competitive economic region in China. The integration of the market across the 27 cities is crucial in driving economic growth in the area. This paper aims to provide policymakers with recommendations on promoting regional integration, enhancing the structure, and improving overall performance. By utilizing the benefits and resources of each community more effectively, greater economic gains can be achieved. The findings of this study can also be applied to other Chinese towns or business areas. Market integration is a necessary foundation for regional integration, as it enables the seamless movement of goods and factors throughout the region while simultaneously reducing entry barriers and supporting the creation of a unified market. Unfortunately, the "vassal economy" model has impeded the region's economic growth. The integration of regional markets is crucial for economic growth. However, it is equally important to create industrial clusters with central towns as their hubs. The Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration is a prime example of one of six world-class city clusters demonstrating how market integration can result in high-quality economic progress. The paper's primary discoveries are threefold: firstly, there has been a progressive elevation in the level of market integration among the 27 cities within the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, characterized by increasingly intimate connections concerning trade, investment, and population mobility. Secondly, this heightened market integration exerts a catalytic impact on the real economic growth of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, particularly concerning regional industrial restructuring, transformation, and upgrading. Finally, market integration is poised to expedite the industrial division of labor and synergistic development between the cities, thus promoting a concentration of advanced manufacturing and new industries in the central cities and furthering the development of profitable industries in the central individual cities.

Abstract The study of contemporary art is one of the main means of implementing aesthetic education in China. This discipline allows a student to develop a system of spiritual values, reveal talents and acquire skills needed for professional growth. Chinese art is an integral part of the global cultural space, and Chinese contemporary art performs the functions of cultural reflection, occupying an important place in developing the state's cultural identity. In the process of globalization, it is extremely important to study not only Chinese, but also world contemporary art, as well as the peculiarities of its teaching in the educational institutions of the PRC within the framework of the multiculturalism movement. The study objectives are to develop a unique online platform for teaching and learning contemporary art in China, to identify the features of art teacher training, to identify the methods of and trends in teaching contemporary art in the Chinese system of secondary and higher education, as well as to determine the most effective method of teaching contemporary art in China based on the experiment. In the course of the study, a plan and structure of the website containing audio and video materials, graphic editors and a conference system for students and teachers were developed. An innovative classification of the contemporary art movements was made in accordance with the tools and methods of creating art works. The styles of contemporary art were divided into groups: painting, sculpture/architecture, photography, cybernetic art, literature, optical art, theatrical art, mass culture, and hybrid art. The database was compiled by the masters of Art from China and Ireland, which emphasizes the internationality and multiculturalism of the project. An experiment was conducted to determine the level of effectiveness of different methods of teaching contemporary art in China. In the course of the experiment, the Spark platform developed for the study purpose was recognized as the most effective (56.1%). The effectiveness of the active method and passive method of teaching was 27.2% and 16.7%, respectively. The study results can be used in the study of various trends in contemporary art in the process of modernization and within the framework of pedagogical and commercial activities related to the work of exhibitions and galleries. In addition, they can be used to improve the methods of teaching contemporary art online and offline to the broad public audience and improve the professional skills of graphic or UI/UX designers, 3D modeling experts, engineers, editors, and IT developers. The practical significance of the developed online platform lies in the possibility of database use, practical application of the knowledge gained, and taking online lessons with Chinese and foreign teachers as part of a multicultural experience exchange.

Abstract Post-selected metrology, also known as probabilistic metrology, can be employed as an efficient filter or compression channel to compress the number of samples without significant loss of precision. This metrological scheme is especially advantageous when the final measurements are either very noisy or expensive in practical experiments. In this work, we put forward a general theory on the compression channels in post-selected metrology. We define the basic notations characterizing the compression quality and illuminate the underlying structure. Previous experiments on post-selected optical phase estimation and weak-value amplification are shown to be particular cases of this general theory. Furthermore, we discover that for two categories of bipartite systems, the compression loss can be made arbitrarily small even when the compression channel is restricted to one subsystem. These findings can be employed to distribute quantum measurements so that the measurement noise and cost are dramatically reduced. Therefore, we expect they will find immediate applications in quantum technology.

Abstract Music plays an extremely important role in people's production and life. The amount of music is growing rapidly. At the same time, the demand for music organization, classification, and retrieval is also increasing. Paying more attention to the emotional expression of creators and the psychological characteristics of music are also indispensable personalized needs of users. The existing music emotion recognition (MER) methods have the following two challenges. First, the emotional color conveyed by the first music is constantly changing with the playback of the music, and it is difficult to accurately express the ups and downs of music emotion based on the analysis of the entire music. Second, it is difficult to analyze music emotions based on the pitch, length, and intensity of the notes, which can hardly reflect the soul and connotation of music. In this paper, an improved back propagation (BP) algorithm neural network is used to analyze music data. Because the traditional BP network tends to fall into local solutions, the selection of initial weights and thresholds directly affects the training effect. This paper introduces artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm to improve the structure of BP neural network. The output value of the ABC algorithm is used as the weight and threshold of the BP neural network. The ABC algorithm is responsible for adjusting the weights and thresholds, and feeds back the optimal weights and thresholds to the BP neural network system. BP neural network with ABC algorithm can improve the global search ability of the BP network, while reducing the probability of the BP network falling into the local optimal solution, and the convergence speed is faster. Through experiments on public music data sets, the experimental results show that compared with other comparative models, the MER method used in this paper has better recognition effect and faster recognition speed.

Abstract This study examined the development of vowel categories in young Mandarin -English bilingual children. The participants included 35 children aged between 3 and 4 years old (15 Mandarin-English bilinguals, six English monolinguals, and 14 Mandarin monolinguals). The bilingual children were divided into two groups: one group had a shorter duration (<1 year) of intensive immersion in English (Bi-low group) and one group had a longer duration (>1 year) of intensive immersion in English (Bi-high group). The participants were recorded producing one list of Mandarin words containing the vowels /a, i, u, y, ɤ/ and/or one list of English words containing the vowels /i, ɪ, e, ɛ, æ, u, ʊ, o, ɑ, ʌ/. Formant frequency values were extracted at five equidistant time locations (the 20-35-50-65-80% point) over the course of vowel duration. Cross-language and within-language comparisons were conducted on the midpoint formant values and formant trajectories. The results showed that children in the Bi-low group produced their English vowels into clusters and showed positional deviations from the monolingual targets. However, they maintained the phonetic features of their native vowel sounds well and mainly used an assimilatory process to organize the vowel systems. Children in the Bi-high group separated their English vowels well. They used both assimilatory and dissimilatory processes to construct and refine the two vowel systems. These bilingual children approximated monolingual English children to a better extent than the children in the Bi-low group. However, when compared to the monolingual peers, they demonstrated observable deviations in both L1 and L2.

Abstract Specification of the germline and its segregation from the soma mark one of the most crucial events in the lifetime of an organism. In different organisms, this specification can occur through either inheritance or inductive mechanisms. In species such as Xenopus and zebrafish, the specification of primordial germ cells relies on the inheritance of maternal germline determinants that are synthesized and sequestered in the germ plasm during oogenesis. In this review, we discuss the formation of the germ plasm, how germline determinants are recruited into the germ plasm during oogenesis, and the dynamics of the germ plasm during oogenesis and early embryonic development.

Abstract Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the sixth most common malignant tumor worldwide, with high morbidity and mortality. Surgery and postoperative chemoradiotherapy have largely reduced the recurrence and fatality rates for most HNSCCs. Nonetheless, these therapeutic approaches result in poor prognoses owing to severe adverse reactions and the development of drug resistance. Ferroptosis is a kind of programmed cell death which is non-apoptotic. Ferroptosis of tumor cells can inhibit tumor development. Ferroptosis involves various biomolecules and signaling pathways, whose expressions can be adjusted to modulate the sensitivity of cells to ferroptosis. As a tool in the fight against cancer, the activation of ferroptosis is a treatment that has received much attention in recent years. Therefore, understanding the molecular mechanism of ferroptosis in HNSCC is an essential strategy with therapeutic potential. The most important thing to treat HNSCC is to choose the appropriate treatment method. In this review, we discuss the molecular and defense mechanisms of ferroptosis, analyze the role and mechanism of ferroptosis in the inhibition and immunity against HNSCC, and explore the therapeutic strategy for inducing ferroptosis in HNSCC including drug therapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, nanotherapy and comprehensive treatment. We find ferroptosis provides a new target for HNSCC treatment.

Abstract Objective: Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is one of the world's eight most common malignancies and a severe hazard to human health. Transmembrane protein 208 (TMEM208) has been reported to be associated with autophagy, which is strongly tied to the onset and development of numerous illnesses, including cancer. For this reason, we investigated the expression and prognostic significance of TMEM208 in HNSCC.
Methods: To explore the role and molecular mechanism of this gene in HNSCC, we performed a comprehensive analysis of the TMEM208 gene, including gene expression analysis, prognostic analysis, and immune infiltration analysis using the UALCAN, HPA, CVCDAP, DAVID, TIMER, CIBERSORTx, TISIDB, and cBioPortal online databases. It was further validated by in vitro cell culture.
Results: Analysis of TCGA data showed that TMEM208 was highly expressed in HNSCC (P < 0.01) and significantly correlated with several clinicopathologic features, and in vitro cellular assays demonstrated that TMEM208 was highly expressed in multiple squamous carcinoma cell lines. Survival analysis showed that high expression of TMEM208 decreased OS (P=0.0088), PFI (P=0.0062), and DSS (P=0.0036) in HNSCC patients. cox regression analysis indicated that high expression of TMEM208 was an independent risk factor for OS in HNSCC patients (P<0.05). In addition, functional enrichment analysis showed that TMEM208 was closely associated with translation, ribosomal and mitochondrial functions, and GSVA analysis showed that TMEM208 was negatively correlated with a variety of immune cell differentiation in HNSCC, with a statistically significant difference. Immunocorrelation analysis showed that TMEM208 could affect immune cell infiltration in HNSCC; in addition, TMEM208 correlated with CD24, CD276, LAG3, and HVEM.
Conclusion: In conclusion, TMEM208 holds promise as a prognostic indicator for HNSCC and is closely related to ICI treatment.
