Abstract This book is mainly focused on the climate change in Southeast Asia and its adjacent regions. It summarizes results from recent scientific research based on observational analysis, data diagnosis, theoretical analysis, and model simulations. The book covers the following research areas: (1) characteristics and mechanisms of spring–summer atmospheric circulation systems, (2) ocean-atmosphere-land interaction and climate variability, (3) climate effect of the Tibetan Plateau, (4) attribution of regional climate change and feedback/impact of regional climate on the global climate, and (5) seasonal-to-subseasonal climate prediction. It is anticipated that the book provides useful information for enhancing our understanding of the change in climate over Southeast Asia and the adjacent regions.

Abstract As global warming and human activities continue, algal blooms are becoming more frequent and severe. Based on the fact that even the best technical measures cannot directly reduce nutrient production caused by human activities, the author argues that promoting public education as a pre-treatment measure is more efficient and fundamental than relying solely on post-treatment social reports and engineering restoration techniques. This study aims to increase awareness among countries worldwide about the critical role of public education and engagement in preventing algal blooms. This is particularly important given the projected increase in population, as well as the uncertainties surrounding climate and the environment in the future.

Abstract Hailaer Basin is rich in geological reserves, but the proportion of undeveloped reserves is high, accounting for 30% of the proved reserves. In order to improve the production degree of reserves and single well production, and realize the purpose of high and stable production of the oilfield. Taking the ultra-low permeability reservoir of oilfield B in Hailaer Basin as an example, this paper puts forward the large-scale fracturing of vertical wells and water injection development technology of imitating horizontal wells. By forming directional ultra long fracturing fractures in the oil layer, this technology can effectively increase the reservoir conductivity, increase the oil well drainage area and water well control area, reduce the well pattern density and improve the production of single well. The research shows that the undeveloped reserves in Hailaer oilfield have the characteristics of low thickness, low permeability and low reservoir quality index. There are 55 large-scale mold fracturing wells in Hailaer oilfield, with an initial oil increase of 2.2 times. The sand amount of large-scale fracturing is 2.5 times that of ordinary fracturing, and the fluid amount and sand intensity are 4.5 times that of conventional fracturing. The vertical well large-scale fracturing imitating horizontal well technology is adopted in Oilfield B. The designed vertical well fracturing fracture is 600m long and 120m wide, and the production effect is good after fracturing. The research results are of great significance to the high and stable production of undeveloped reserves block in Hailaer oilfield and other similar oilfields.

Abstract The rapid spread of COVID-19 worldwide since 2020 has, undeniably, negatively influenced the global economy and environment. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are among the worst-hit victims of COVID-19, particularly in developing countries. As primary channels financing SMEs, what roles have private equity and venture capital (PE/VC) played in this crisis? Using the 2010-2021 data of 4462 listed companies, we aimed to assess the impact of PE/VC on financial risk among Chinese SMEs. We constructed a capital structure selection model to assess the risk preference of PE/VC and explored the roles of PE/VC in the financial risk management of enterprises during COVID-19. Based on both theory and empirical evidence, PE/VC negatively impacts the financial risk of enterprises, implying that intervention by the management of PE/VC can aggravate the financial risk. However, in reality, PE/VC positively impacted enterprise financial risk during COVID-19. Thus, the government should implement some easing policies to stimulate access and investment policies of PE/VC as well as provide more practical policies to support investment institutions in China and other counties.

Abstract Proteins are dynamic biomolecules that can transform between different conformational states when exerting physiological functions, which is difficult to simulate using all-atom methods. Coarse-grained (CG) Go̅-like models are widely used to investigate large-scale conformational transitions, which usually adopt implicit solvent models and therefore cannot explicitly capture the interaction between proteins and surrounding molecules, such as water and lipid molecules. Here, we present a new method, named

Abstract Against the background of the rapid development of big data and big data analysis technologies, cloud computing service providers provide services to enterprises and individuals. In many large enterprises, by setting up a cloud computing platform environment, multiple services within the enterprise are placed on the cloud platform to provide resource sharing services for various departments. With the dramatic improvement in computing performance of computer clusters, big data and cloud computing technologies are maturing. We combine cloud computing with financial management services, and use modern technical means to innovate financial management models; we will change the financial management model of enterprises by building financial sharing service centers, thereby providing more efficient financial management services. Based on the research of cloud computing technology, this paper expounds the application of cloud computing in financial sharing, and explores the transformation of financial management models in the context of cloud computing. Fully clarify the principles and procedures for the construction of financial sharing service centers based on cloud computing, and discuss the basic structure of financial cloud management. Finally, we discuss the operation model of financial management based on cloud computing to provide a reference for researchers in financial management.

Abstract The prediction of web service quality plays an important role in improving user services; it has been one of the most popular topics in the field of Internet services. In traditional collaborative filtering methods, differences in the personalization and preferences of different users have been ignored. In this paper, we propose a prediction method for web service quality based on different types of quality of service (QoS) attributes. Different extraction rules are applied to extract the user preference matrices from the original web data, and the negative value filtering-based top-K method is used to merge the optimization results into the collaborative prediction method. Thus, the individualized differences are fully exploited, and the problem of inconsistent QoS values is resolved. The experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed method. Compared with other methods, the proposed method performs better, and the results are closer to the real values.

Abstract Poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) is a commonly used denture material with poor antimicrobial effects. This study investigated the antimicrobial effects of PMMA-containing silver-phosphate glass. We fabricated a novel material comprising PMMA-containing silver-phosphate glass. Then, microhardness, flexural strength, and gloss unit were analyzed. Antimicrobial activity against Streptococcus mutans and Candida albicans was investigated. Colony-forming units were counted, and antimicrobial rates were measured. Biocompatibility tests were performed using a colorimetric MTT assay for evaluating cell metabolic activity. The microhardness, flexural strength, and gloss unit of the experimental groups (with silver-phosphate glass) were not significantly different from those of the control group (no silver-phosphate glass) (P > 0.05), which showed clinically valid values. With increasing proportions of silver-phosphate glass, the antimicrobial activity against the two microorganisms increased (P < 0.05). Furthermore, S. mutans showed more than 50% antimicrobial activity in 4%, 6%, and 8% experimental groups, C. albicans showed more than 50% antimicrobial activity in 6% and 8% groups, and a statistically significant difference in antimicrobial activity was observed compared to the control (P < 0.05). The cell viability of the experimental groups was not significantly different from that of the control group (P > 0.05). Both control and experimental groups showed approximately 100% cell viability. These results suggest that silver-phosphate glass is a promising antimicrobial material in dentistry.
