Abstract A composite structure containing a metallic skeleton and polyurea elastomer interpenetrating phase was fabricated, and its anti-penetration performance for low-velocity large mass fragments was experimentally studied. The protection capacity of three polyurea was compared based on the penetration resistance force measurement. Results show that the polyurea coating layer at the backside improves the performance of the polyurea-filled spherical cell porous aluminum (SCPA) plate due to its backside support effect and phase transition effect, which are accompanied by a large amount of energy absorption. The frontal-side-coated polyurea layer failed to shear and provided a very limited strengthening effect on the penetration resistance of the interpenetrating phase composite panel. The filling polyurea in SCPA increased the damage area and formed a compression cone for the backside coating layer, leading to a significant stress diffusion effect. The anti-penetration performance was synergistically improved by the plug block effect of the interpenetrating phase composite and the backside support effect of the PU coating layer. Compared with SCPA, the initial impact failure strength and the average resistance force of the composite plate were improved by 120-200% and 108-274%, respectively.

Abstract Due to more advanced features of the picture fuzzy soft set and valuable characteristics of aggregation operators, in this article, we present the notion of picture fuzzy soft Bonferroni mean aggregation operators and weighted picture fuzzy soft Bonferroni mean aggregation operators. Moreover, some basic properties of these introduced aggregation operators have been given. As cancer is one of the most rapidly increasing diseases globally. But due to different kinds of cancer diseases, it is very difficult to say which type of cancer disease is increasing rapidly. So to reduce this difficulty in the medical field, we have applied our work to medical diagnosis problems to ensure that fuzzy ideas can also help in the medical field. Also, an algorithm along with a descriptive example is established that conforms to the authenticity of initiated work. Furthermore, a comparative analysis of the introduced work has been given to show how this work is more efficient and dominant than other existing theories.

Abstract In many decision-making situations, we are not restricted to two kinds of aspects, such as membership degree or nonmembership degree, and sometimes we need to include the abstinence degree (AD). However, many fuzzy set theories fail to cover issues, such as an intuitionistic fuzzy soft set, Pythagorean fuzzy soft set and q-rung orthopair fuzzy soft set. All the above notions can only consider membership degree and a nonmembership degree in their structures. The spherical fuzzy soft set compensates for these drawbacks in its structure. Moreover, the Dombi t-norm and Dombi t-conorm are the fundamental apparatuses to generalize the basic operational laws of sum and product. Therefore, in this article, based on the dominant features of spherical fuzzy soft sets and valuable features of the Dombi t-norm and Dombi t-conorm, we initially developed the basic Dombi operational laws for spherical fuzzy soft numbers. Moreover, based on these newly developed operational laws, we introduced aggregation operators called spherical fuzzy soft Dombi average (weighted, ordered weighted, hybrid) aggregation operators. We discussed the basic properties of these aggregation operators. Additionally, we have developed a multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) approach using an explanatory example via our approach to show its effective utilization. Furthermore, a comparative study of our approach shows the superiority of our introduced notions.

Abstract Liver fibrosis is a coordinated response to tissue injury that is mediated by immune cell interactions. A mitochondria-regulated information-processing (MIP) nanosystem that promotes immune cell communication and interactions to inhibit liver fibrosis is designed. The MIP nanosystem mimics the alkaline amino acid domain of mitochondrial precursor proteins, providing precise targeting of the mitochondria. The MIP nanosystem is driven by light to modulate the mitochondria of hepatic stellate cells, resulting in the release of mitochondrial DNA into the fibrotic microenvironment, as detected by macrophages. By activating the STING signaling pathway, the developed nanosystem-induced macrophage phenotype switches to a reparative subtype (Ly6C

Abstract Micro-nano robots have emerged as a promising research field with vast potential applications in biomedicine. The motor is the key component of micro-nano robot research, and the design of the motor is crucial. Among the most commonly used motors are those derived from living cells such as bacteria with flagella, sperm, and algal cells. Additionally, scientists have developed numerous self-adaptive biomimetic motors with biological functions, primarily cell membrane functionalized micromotors. This novel type of motor exhibits remarkable performance in complex media. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the structure and performance of micro-nano robots that utilize living cells and functionalized biological cell membranes. We also discuss potential practical applications of these mirco-nano robots as well as potential challenges that may arise in future development.

Abstract Background: For bone health assessment, dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) is recommended to measure bone mineral content and areal bone mineral density (aBMD) in the lumbar spine. However, intermachine differences were not taken into account when developing these recommendations. According to the International Society of Clinical Densitometry (ISCD), phantom-based cross-calibration is adequate after replacing the DEXA system from a different manufacturer. For different DEXA equipment, individual calibration equations were found to be necessary to fit the observed values with the given densities.
Methods: The BMD European Spine Phantom (ESP) measurements (L1, L2, and L3) were assessed on 3 machines. We used the Welch test in the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a
Results: The coefficients of variation (CV)% of the phantom BMD values measured using the 3 systems were less than 3.0%. The 3 DEXA systems were highly correlated with BMD in the lumbar spine, with correlation values ranging from 0.933 to 0.984 (P<0.0001). The cross-calibration regression models of the ESP measurements yielded the highest prediction accuracies with the lowest prediction errors (the standard error of the estimate ranged from 0.004 to 0.008 g/cm
Conclusions: A strong agreement for BMD measurement was established between the 3 DEXA systems. Cross-calibration equations for the lumbar spine BMD values need to be applied to transform the Hologic Discovery A or GE Lunar iDXA measurements into SONIALVISION SMIT measurements to comply with the ISCD standards for patient continuity of care in assessment during clinical diagnosis.

Abstract Purpose: Precise estimation of the standard liver volume (SLV) is crucial in decision making regarding major hepatectomy and living donor liver transplantation. This study aimed to propose an accurate and efficient formula for estimating the SLV in the Korean population.
Methods: We created a regression model for SLV estimation using a data set of 230 Korean patients with healthy livers. The proposed model was cross validated using a different data set of 37 patients with healthy livers. The total liver volume (TLV), except for the volume of liver blood vessels, was measured through computed tomography volumetry as the dependent variable. Various anthropometric variables, liver height (LH), thoracic width (TW), age, and sex (0, female and 1, male) were considered as candidates for independent variables. We conducted stepwise regression analysis to identify variables to be included in the proposed model.
Results: A new formula was established; SLV = -1,275 + 9.85 × body weight (BW, kg) + 19.95 × TW (cm) + 7.401 × LH (mm). The proposed formula showed the best performance among existing formulas over the cross-validation data set.
Conclusion: The proposed formula derived using BW, TW, and LH estimated the TLV in the cross-validation data set more accurately than existing formulas.

Abstract To solve the problems of reduced accuracy and prolonging convergence time of through-the-wall radar (TWR) human motion due to wall attenuation, multipath effect, and system interference, we propose a multilink auto-encoding neural network (TWR-MCAE) data augmentation method. Specifically, the TWR-MCAE algorithm is jointly constructed by a singular value decomposition (SVD)-based data preprocessing module, an improved coordinate attention module, a compressed sensing learnable iterative shrinkage threshold reconstruction algorithm (LISTA) module, and an adaptive weight module. The data preprocessing module achieves wall clutter, human motion features, and noise subspaces separation. The improved coordinate attention module achieves clutter and noise suppression. The LISTA module achieves human motion feature enhancement. The adaptive weight module learns the weights and fuses the three subspaces. The TWR-MCAE can suppress the low-rank characteristics of wall clutter and enhance the sparsity characteristics in human motion at the same time. It can be linked before the classification step to improve the feature extraction capability without adding other prior knowledge or recollecting more data. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm gets a better peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), which increases the recognition accuracy and speeds up the training process of the back-end classifiers.

Abstract To develop a new class of enol diketone esters, succinic acid monoesters were synthesized using the reaction of succinic anhydride with various aromatic alcohols. Subsequently, six types of methyl cyclopentenolone succinate diesters were synthesized using dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) as the condensation agent and 4‐dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) as the catalyst for the condensation reaction with methyl cyclopentenolone. The target compounds were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR), infrared spectroscopy (IR) and high‐resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS). The aromas characteristics of esters were evaluated using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry‐olfactometer (GC–MS‐O). Compounds 5a ~ 5c, which had a strong aroma, were conducted with thermogravimetry‐derivative thermogravimetry (TG‐DTG) to analyse their heating‐stability. Additionally, these compounds were studied by pyrolysis‐gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py‐GC/MS) to analyse their pyrolysis behaviours at 300, 350 and 400°C. Results showed that methyl cyclopentenolone and a large number of small molecular flavouring substances were formed by 5a ~ 5c at the set temperature. The synthesis of methyl cyclopentenolone succinate diester can not only slow down the volatilization of methyl cyclopentenolone and aromatic alcohol, but also effectively enhance the aroma, improve the smoking taste of cigarettes, reduce the irritation and miscellaneous gas of smoking and provide more choices for cigarette flavouring.
