Abstract The continuous economic and social progress of our country has helped the rapid progress of civil engineering projects. However, the relatively improved civil engineering project creation also has many shortcomings, such as waste of resources, depletion, and pollution of the natural environment. The construction project itself is an item. The energy consumption is relatively high. Due to the shortage of resources and the more serious natural environment and ecological problems, the public pays more attention to the related problems of their own quality of life, and more and more people are adopting green building materials. Therefore, it is very important to explore the application of green building materials in civil engineering projects.

Abstract Background: Vitreous floaters are a common ocular condition that affects individuals of all ages. Although vitreous floaters are typically benign, they can significantly impair visual acuity and quality of life. Laser vitreolysis, which uses an Nd: YAG laser to vaporize collagenous vitreous opacities, is increasingly being used as a treatment option. However, there is currently a lack of evidence regarding its efficacy and the appropriate timing of its application. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of early intervention with YAG laser vitreolysis in treating symptomatic vitreous floaters.
Methods: The present study is a randomized, controlled, double-blind clinical trial. A total of 70 participants with symptomatic floaters for 1 month were prospectively recruited. These participants will be randomly assigned to two groups, with 35 individuals in each group: the early treatment group and the delayed treatment group. Participants assigned to the early treatment group will undergo YAG laser vitreolysis immediately, followed by a sham laser treatment 3 months later. On the other hand, participants assigned to the delayed treatment group will receive a sham laser treatment and then undergo YAG laser vitreolysis 3 months later. The follow-up time points will be 1, 3, 6, and 12 months from randomization. Primary outcomes will be participants' self-reported improvement in visual disturbance on a scale of 1 to 10 and their scores on the National Eye Institute Visual Functioning Questionnaire 25 (NEI VFQ-25). Secondary outcomes will be an objective evaluation of the effectiveness of the treatment in reducing vitreous floaters through OCT and fundus photography and tracking any adverse events related to the eyes or overall health.
Discussion: This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of YAG laser vitreolysis in treating symptomatic vitreous floaters and assess the safety of performing early intervention with YAG laser vitreolysis.

Abstract Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have broad potential applications in electrochemical glucose detection. Herein, a green ultrasonic synthesis process is presented for preparing two-dimensional (2D) copper-nickel metal-organic framework nanosheets (CuNi-MOFNs) for glucose detection. The synthesized CuNi-MOFNs were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS). The CuNi-MOFN nanocomposites were used to cover the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and the CuNi-MOFNs-modified electrode was studied in alkaline media. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and amperometric i-t curves indicated that the CuNi-MOFNs-modified electrode revealed great electrochemical performances towards glucose oxidation. Due to the ease of access to active metal sites in large specific surface of nanosheets, the CuNi-MOFNs-modified electrode can effectively improve the electronic transfer rate and enhance electrocatalytic activity of the CuNi-MOFNs-modified electrode. The CuNi-MOFNs-modified electrode showed electrochemical performances for glucose detection with a linear range from 0.01 mM to 4 mM, sensitivity of 702 μAmM

Abstract Identifying the function of DNA sequences accurately is an essential and challenging task in the genomic field. Until now, deep learning has been widely used in the functional analysis of DNA sequences, including DeepSEA, DanQ, DeepATT and TBiNet. However, these methods have the problems of high computational complexity and not fully considering the distant interactions among chromatin features, thus affecting the prediction accuracy. In this work, we propose a hybrid deep neural network model, called DeepFormer, based on convolutional neural network (CNN) and flow-attention mechanism for DNA sequence function prediction. In DeepFormer, the CNN is used to capture the local features of DNA sequences as well as important motifs. Based on the conservation law of flow network, the flow-attention mechanism can capture more distal interactions among sequence features with linear time complexity. We compare DeepFormer with the above four kinds of classical methods using the commonly used dataset of 919 chromatin features of nearly 4.9 million noncoding DNA sequences. Experimental results show that DeepFormer significantly outperforms four kinds of methods, with an average recall rate at least 7.058% higher than other methods. Furthermore, we confirmed the effectiveness of DeepFormer in capturing functional variation using Alzheimer's disease, pathogenic mutations in alpha-thalassemia and modification in CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF) activity. We further predicted the maize chromatin accessibility of five tissues and validated the generalization of DeepFormer. The average recall rate of DeepFormer exceeds the classical methods by at least 1.54%, demonstrating strong robustness.

Abstract Many serious ecological problems and changes in urban spatial structure in coal resource-based cities in China are attributable to rapid urbanization and human coal mining activities. Therefore, optimizing urban spatial structure and functions can help balance the opposing requirements of urban built-up areas and ecosystems. This research first used restricted ecological areas in the three scenarios and embedded them in the PLUS model. Subsequently, the Markov chain model combined with the ecosystem service value maximization optimization model predicted the land-use demand in two scenarios. Through the LEAS function of the PLUS model, the 19 influencing factors under the “pressure-state-response (PSR)” framework were analyzed. The important driving factors affecting land use were obtained and embedded in the PLUS model. Finally, the urban growth boundary (UGB) for the Jining Metropolitan Area (JMA) in 2030 to optimize the urban spatial structure and ecological functions was determined for four scenarios: natural development (ND), ecological security (ES), multiregulation integrity (MR), and ecosystem health (EH). After comparing the UGB in these four scenarios, we found that the ES scenario ensured ES in the JMA. Additionally, under the EH scenario, the urban spatial structure and functions were further optimized. Our research could provide new ideas and technical support for the rational layout of the spatial structure and functions of coal resource-based cities.

Abstract Metastatic lesions of the pancreas are uncommon. The incidence of pancreatic involvement with squamous cell carcinoma is the lowest among the different histological subtypes of lung cancer. We present the clinical data, pathological findings, and imaging features of two cases of pancreatic metastasis from squamous cell lung cancer with a literature review. A 75-year-old man and a 67-year-old man were both diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic tumors from squamous cell lung cancer during a multidisciplinary team discussion. Both patients were misdiagnosed as having a neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas by imaging examination before surgery. Squamous cell lung cancer metastasis to the pancreas is extremely rare, and the atypical clinical and radiological presentations make it difficult to distinguish metastatic tumors from primary pancreatic tumors.

Abstract Atmospheric deposition is recognized as a significant source of nutrients in the surface ocean. The East Asia region is among the largest sources of aerosol emissions in the world, due to its large industrial, agricultural, and energy production. Thus, East Asian aerosols contain a large proportion of anthropogenic particles that are characterized by small size, complex composition, and high nutrient dissolution, resulting in important influences on marine microbes and biogeochemical cycles in the downwind areas of the northwest Pacific Ocean (NWPO). By using remote sensing, modeling, and incubation experimental methods, enhanced primary production due to the East Asian aerosol input has been observed in the NWPO, with subsequent promotion and inhibition impacts on different phytoplankton taxa. Changes of bacterial activity and diversity also occur in response to aerosol input. The impact of East Asian aerosol loadings is closely related to the amount and composition of the aerosol deposition as well as the hydrological condition of the receiving seawater. Here, we review the current state of knowledge on the atmospheric nutrients and the effects of the East Asian aerosols on microbes in the NWPO region. Future research perspectives are also proposed.

Abstract Summary: CRISPR screening is a powerful tool to identify host factors for pathogenic agents including viruses and bacterial toxins. Here, we present a protocol to conduct a genome-scale CRISPR screen on HeLa cells for host factors involved in the toxin action of Clostridioides difficile TcdB4. We describe in detail how to prepare the library, set up the screen, obtain the gene sequences, and analyze the results. This protocol can also be modified for other genome-scale libraries, cell lines, and cytotoxins. For complete details on the use and execution of this protocol, please refer to Luo et al. (2022). : Publisher’s note: Undertaking any experimental protocol requires adherence to local institutional guidelines for laboratory safety and ethics.

Abstract 【Objective】In modern vegetable facility cultivation, the quality of vegetable seedlings plays a very important role in the economic benefits of subsequent agricultural production. Continuous light is a common special light mode in artificial light plant factory. Exploring the effect of continuous light combined with light quality on the growth and development of pepper seedlings could provide an important technical reference for efficiently improving the resistance of pepper seedlings.【Method】The pepper backbone parent '6421' was used as the test material, and 6 light treatment groups were set up: normal white light irradiation group (CW), normal blue light irradiation group (CB), normal red light irradiation group (CR), continuous white light irradiation group (TW), continuous blue light irradiation group (TB) and continuous red light irradiation group (TR). The effects of continuous photoperiod treatment combined with red and blue light on the growth and physiological characteristics of pepper seedlings were studied.【Result】(1) TR significantly increased the plant height and stem diameter of pepper seedlings by 20.5% and 10.6%, respectively, compared with the CW group. After TR treatment, the seedling index increased significantly by 2.38 times, while TB significantly reduced the plant height and stem diameter of pepper seedlings by 17.1% and 14.3%, and the root-shoot ratio increased significantly by 2.62 times. (2) There was no significant difference in Pn and Gs of pepper seedling leaves between TR and TB, but Tr and Ci of TB were significantly lower than those of TR. Compared with CW, Tr and Ci of TB were significantly reduced by 62.5% and 51.1%. The chlorophyll fluorescence parameters of pepper seedling leaves showed opposite results after different light treatments. The Fv/Fm, Fv/Fo, NPQ and qP values of pepper seedling leaves in TB group were significantly higher than those in TR group. The qP of TB and TR was significantly higher than that of CW, increasing by 36.1% and 26.1%, respectively. (3) The ...
