Abstract Background: Aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs) have the most difficulty in terms of total workload criteria working in line maintenance. This is a very important problem for the Aircraft Maintenance Organization. A systematic and scientific approach is required for its solution.
Objective: This study proposes a new Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) based approach to evaluating the total workloads of AMTs to identify the most challenging AMT tasks in the aircraft maintenance organization.
Methods: A new hybrid MCDM approach is proposed by integrating the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity (TOPSIS) methods to compare AMTs on the basis of workloads according to license categories. The hybrid method proposed in this study evaluates the total workload under three main titles: mental, physical, and environmental workload.
Results: Focusing on AMTs working in line maintenance of an aircraft maintenance organization, this study revealed that the most important workload criteria determined by the DEMATEL method are lower back strain, upper back strain, time pressure, and air temperature criteria. The results of the TOPSIS method showed that the license categories of AMTs are sorted according to the workloads as follows: A, B2, B1, and B1 + B2. The AMTs holding a "Category A" license have fewer workloads than the other categories.
Conclusion: The findings of the study reveal some measures that might allow authorities to minimize the workload of AMTs. In addition, the study contributes to the literature because there are few studies that systematically analyze total workloads by using MCDM methods.

Abstract In this study, we nowcast quarter-over-quarter US GDP growth rates between 2000Q2 and 2018Q4 using tree-based ensemble machine learning models, namely, bagged decision trees, random forests, and stochastic gradient tree boosting. To solve the ragged edge problem and reduce the dimension of the data set, we adopt a dynamic factor model. Dynamic factors extracted from 10 groups of financial and macroeconomic variables are fed to machine learning models for nowcasting US GDP. Our results show that tree-based ensemble models usually outperform linear dynamic factor models. Factors obtained from real variables appear to be more influential in machine learning models. The impact of factors derived from financial and price variables can only become important in predicting GDP after the great financial crisis of 2008-9, reflecting the effect extra loose monetary policies implemented in the period following the crisis.

Abstract Background: The recent growth of the aviation industry, which poses significant environmental challenges, has heightened the pressure on the sustainability of airports. Airport sustainability requires a holistic approach that encompasses economic, social, environmental, and operational aspects. In this regard, the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Agenda provides a roadmap for the aviation industry. However, despite recognizing the importance of SDGs, aviation authorities and airports often fail to effectively integrate them into their activities and annual reports.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the significance of SDGs for airports and select the airport that prioritizes SDGs the most using Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methodologies.
Methods: This study introduces a novel approach that integrates Step-wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) and Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) methods, which are MCDM techniques, to enhance airport sustainability. The SWARA method is employed to evaluate and assign weights to the SDGs in the context of airports.
Results: SDG 8 holds the highest level of significance among the goals concerning airports, while SDG 14 falls outside the scope of airport sustainability aspects. Then, five international airports that have been designated as green airports by aviation authorities and assessment organizations are selected, and the optimal alternative is determined using the WASPAS method, considering the weights obtained through SWARA.
Conclusion: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is the top choice due to its successful implementations and reports aligning with the SDGs.

Abstract The present study was conducted to estimate the (co)variance components for birth and weaning weight (BW and WW) in 8142 Awassi sheep between 2015 and 2017. Estimates were calculated with single-trait analysis by the average information restricted maximum likelihood (AI-REML) method, using a derivative-free algorithm by fitting six different univariate animal models. The negative of the log-likelihood function (LogL), Akaike information criterion (AIC), and Bayesian information criterion (BIC) tests were used for selecting the best fitted model. In addition, the goodness of fit between the two models was compared with the likelihood ratio test (LRT). Depending on the models,

Abstract Bu çalışmada Türkiye’deki COVİD-19 salgını ve halk sağlığı kısıtlamaları sırasında genç-yetişkin bireylerin fiziksel aktivite (FA) durumlarını raporlamak, FA'nın yaşam kalitesi üzerindeki etkisini araştırmak amaçlandı.

Abstract Background: The clinical importance of supraventricular run (SVR) is uncertain in the management of patients with previous cerebrovascular events. We aim to evaluate the role of SVRs in the development of future atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients diagnosed with ischemic stroke.
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated patients who underwent 24-h Holter monitoring for the evaluation of possible AF after ischemic cerebrovascular events. The presence and duration of SVR were noted. Subsequent diagnosis of AF was searched in patients with sinus rhythm.
Results: A total of 694 patients were included in the analysis. SVR was detected in 104 (14.9%) patients in the study group. Seventy-one (10.2%) patients were diagnosed with AF in the follow-up. SVRs were more prevalent among patients with AF (
Conclusion: Age, left atrial diameter, and the presence of SVRs are associated with an increased risk of future AF after ischemic stroke. SVR duration may be an important parameter in risk stratification.

Abstract This descriptive, cross-sectional, and analytical study was carried out to identify the factors affecting the tendency of cancer patients for the religion and spirituality. The research was applied on a total of 800 individuals: 400 cancer patients under chemotherapy and 400 non-cancer individuals. Data were collected by personal information form, Ok-Religious Attitude Scale, and spiritual life questions. LISREL 8.7 program was run for the confirmatory factor analysis in order to evaluate the compliance of spiritual life questions. Data from Ok-Religious Attitude Scale and scores collected from spiritual life questions for both cancer and non-cancer individuals were statistically analyzed by two-way ANOVA. Cancer patients (82.8%) prayed more than non-cancer individuals (72.5%). Non-cancer individuals, on the other hand, visited the tombs (13.8%), sacrificed (22.2%), consulted the religious officials (9.2%), and more. The patients had more positive religious attitude than non-cancer individuals (Z = 4.193; p = 0.0001). Religious women were more positive than religious men. Lower education level caused more positive religious attitude. Medical properties of patients did not affect the religious attitude. Forgiveness, spiritual values, and beliefs were stronger in cancer patients than in non-cancer individuals (p = 0.0001). Knowing the factors affecting spiritual life and religious attitudes of patients and determining the spiritual needs of patients with a holistic perspective facilitate compliance of patients with cancer and its treatment. Therefore, containing the spiritual routine in the nursing care is essential.
