Abstract Hydrogen isotope enrichment through liquid-phase catalytic exchange (LPCE) technology is achieved in a hydrophobic reaction environment to avoid liquid water poisoning, but the usage of hydrophobic support severely inhibits the internal diffusion of water molecules to decrease the catalytic efficiency. Herein, we encapsulate platinum active sites into a metal organic framework (Pt@NH₂-UiO-66) as the efficient catalyst for LPCE via introducing hydrophilic amino groups. Experiments and density functional theory simulation reveal amino groups in the channel as the adsorption site of water molecules accelerates the internal diffusion and slows down the accumulation on the platinum sites. Meanwhile, the amino groups interact with the Pt site bridge electron transfer from active sites to support the host, thus decreasing the catalytic reaction and generated water desorption barrier. Due to these positive roles, the turnover frequency of Pt@NH₂-UiO-66 reaches 2272 h-¹ in a microchannel reactor. This work provides a novel design strategy of catalysts in LPCE.

Abstract Some researches have been conducted on the application of geopolymer in 3D printing. However, there is no publication about the high-temperature properties of 3D printed geopolymer made from fly ash, slag, and metakaolin. This paper presents the experimental research on the mechanical properties of 3D printed geopolymer after being exposed to elevated empratures. The effects of curing age on high-temperature properties are analyzed. The heating temperasures were 300 °C, 600 °C, and 900 °C, and the holding time was one hour. After exposure to temperatures, the flexural strength of 3D printed geopolymer exhibited different change trends with increasing curing age for different exposure temperatures. Before and after exposure to elevated temperature, the 3D printed geopolymer experienced significant anisotropic compressive strengths. The change trends of compressive strength at different exposure temperatures wit hincreasing curing ages were different from each other on different loading directions.

Abstract Although liquid-phase catalytic exchange is an environmentally friendly treatment of hydrogen isotopes in recycled water of a nuclear power station, the successive development of hydrophobic catalysts is still needed to meet much higher catalytic exchange efficiency and stability. Herein, a dual-modified graphene with Pt loading was designed by amination and silanization to anchor Pt nanoparticles uniformly, as well as obtain higher hydrophobicity. After coating the reactor walls with poly(dimethylsiloxane), the catalytic exchange efficiency of the dual-modified graphene with lower Pt loadings (Pt/200-S-NH₂-GR) improved up to 91% at 80 °C, which was higher than 80% of only animated graphene (Pt/NH₂-GR) at the same condition. Furthermore, the Pt/200-S-NH₂-GR maintained high stability for at least 10 h in the temperature range of 40–80 °C, while the Pt/NH₂-GR decreased 17% of catalytic exchange efficiency at 80 °C within 10 h. Using the dual-modified strategy for graphene support, high efficiency and stability was achieved for heavy water dedeuteration.

Abstract Background: Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) were reported to protect from hypoxia-induced oxidative stress in coronary endothelial cells (CECs) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Nrf2 shows a protective effect in hypoxia-induced CECs after AMI. Plasmalemma vesicle-associated protein (PLVAP) plays a pivotal role in angiogenesis after AMI.
Aim: To explore the protective effect of ACEIs and the involved mechanisms under hypoxia challenge.
Methods: Human coronary endothelial cells (HCAECs) were used to establish hypoxia-induced oxidative stress injury in vitro. Flow cytometry was used to evaluate the protective effect of ACEI on hypoxia conditions.ET-1, NO, ROS, and VEGF were detected by ELISA. HO-1, Nrf2, and Keap-1, the pivotal member in the Nrf2 signaling pathway, eNOS and PLVAP were detected in HEAECs treated with ACEI by immunofluorescence, qPCR, and western blotting.
Results: The hypoxia ACEI or Nrf2 agonist groups showed higher cell viability compared with the hypoxia control group at 24 (61.75±1.16 or 61.23±0.59 vs. 44.24±0.58, both P < 0.05) and 48 h (41.85±1.19 or 59.64±1.13 vs. 22.98±0.25, both P < 0.05). ACEI decreased the levels of ET-1 and ROS under hypoxia challenge at 24 and 48 h (all P < 0.05); ACEI increased the VEGF and NO levels (all P < 0.05). ACEI promoted the expression level of eNOS, HO-1, Nrf2 and PLVAP but inhibited Keap-1 expression at the mRNA and protein levels (all P < 0.05). Blockade of the Nrf2 signaling pathway significantly decreased the expression level of PLVAP.
Conclusion: ACEI protects hypoxia-treated HEAECs by activating the Nrf2 signaling pathway and upregulating the expression of PLVAP.

Abstract Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanofiber mats have played a significant role in wearable electronic devices that have been in great demand in recent decades. Although manifold PVDFbased freely stacked or well-aligned nanofiber mats created via the electrospinning process have been demonstrated to achieve multisensory capabilities with high sensitivity and long detection range, rarely have any of them proved their ability with a stable process and accurate processing parameters. In this work, we successfully developed freely stacked and well-aligned PVDF nanofiber mats with diameters ranging from micrometers to nanometers, providing stable performance for wearable electronic devices. Through in-depth investigations into material preparation, electrospinning, and fiber collection processes, we revealed the relationship between the nanofiber morphology, β-phase fraction, and piezoelectric output with various process parameters. Characterized by analytical methods, we have established a mature, reliable nanofiber mat fabrication system capable of mass-producing PVDF nanofibers with the required diameter and consistent properties. At 18 kV voltage and 60% RH humidity, the uniformity of the fiber diameter and β-phase content was maintained in a favorable range. When the drum speed increased to 2000 r/s, the fiber orientation and β-phase content increased. We assembled aligned PVDF nanofiber mats with conductive fabric in a flexible piezoelectric sensor that successfully monitored different body movements and produced an output voltage of 0.1 V. This study provides the necessary process parameters for the large-scale production of high-quality PVDF nanofiber mats and provides clear guidance for beginners in the field of nanofiber mat manufacturing.
